Thirty six years ago on 6th of Jaddi 1358 Solar Hijri (24 December 1979) Afghanistan was invaded by the Red army and Afghanistan entered a dark era. Hundreds of thousands were killed, injured and disabled, displaced, and orphaned. Many lost their parents or children. Whole tribes were displaced, villages levelled, cities plundered and provinces scorched. As a result of Soviet Union’s arrogance the destiny of an entire nation was changed forever.

After ten years of a valiant resistance in the winter of 1367 (Solar Hijri) the Red army admitted its defeat and having lost thousands of their troops they left Afghanistan on the 23rd of Dalwa (15 February 1989). Thus the Afghan nation shattered the pride of the mighty Soviet Union and showed the world that pride always cometh before the fall.

Alas the so-called leaders of the Jihad movement at the time had little interest in setting up a functioning government and fulfilling the aspirations of the Afghan nation. Instead they let the fruits of Afghanistan’s Jihad rot away while they distributed the seats of power amongst themselves. Even then they were not content with the spoils they received and instead plunged our nation into a destructive civil war. Communists, Jihadists and Secularists formed and broke alliances at will with no other purposes than increase their share of the spoils.

And so the true sons of our nation and Jihad, repulsed at the impertinence of their so-called leaders rallied around the banner of the Islamic Emirate to bring peace and prosperity to their nation. These warriors began their campaign to disarm all militias in Afghanistan and establish an Islamic and just government. The Machiavellian politicians in Kabul, instead of embracing this opportunity to set aside their differences and help the Islamic Emirate, attacked it with vehement ferocity and did all in their powers to impede its progress.

These politicians, who until yesterday had been leading the campaign against the Soviets now readily embraced Russia, India, France and anyone else that cared to lend them a hand in order to resist the march of the Islamic warriors. They held out Afghanistan in a silver platter ready to sell to the highest bidder.

And so when America entered the fray, these politicians readily embraced her, promising to sell our entire nation to them in exchange for a few days reign in Kabul. Politicians from all walks of life, who until yesterday claimed that it was their religious duty to fight the Islamic Emirate because the latter was stripping them of their rightful place in the political specter now jumped on the American bandwagon hoping they would also receive some bread crumbs.

It must be true that politicians have amnesia because America and her allies so soon forgot the plight of the Soviet Union a decade earlier. They forgot that Afghanistan is a land that is easier invaded than occupied. Its towering mountains look like an easy military prize but once in you realize than this land is like a quagmire, the harder you resist the deeper you sink. The Soviets were clever in that having realized that they could never completely subdue its people, they cut their losses and completely withdrew from Afghanistan.

The Americans also know fully well that they can never subdue Afghanistan but they insist on hitting their heads against the wall hoping that sooner or later the wall might crumble. While their best case scenario would be to effect a face-saving retreat from here, yet it will likely come at great cost to them. Their sons will continue to die until they realize that sometimes you are better off to just quit and run.

End

Islamic Emirate: The ongoing Jihad has entered a new dominant phase

11264828_127265610950299_6264399511636962303_o

Post via Islamic Emirate

To achieve its vitality and objective, every struggle goes through different phases during its toil and tussle, taken from birth to growth and then achieving eventual aims and objectives.

The ongoing Jihad inside Afghanistan has gone through all these phases over the last fourteen years of its struggle against the world infidel powers.

This Jihadi struggle was launched in its embryonic phase against the unilateral, illegitimate and brutal occupation of western invaders. Initially, it meant only the survival of Jihad and existence of a limited number of Mujahidin, who jeopardized their lives in the darkest nights and warmest days for the sake of rejuvenating this Jihadi struggle through invitations, motivations and a few symbolic operations against the enemy.

Initially, the proper treatment of injured persons and affordability of offensive operations were painstaking tasks for Mujahidin therefore they resorted only to remote control mines against the foreign invaders as well as their internal stooge forces.

With the passage of time, Jihadi operations became echoing as they emerged from the obscurity of nights into the broad day lights. Mujahidin launched their operations as the vulnerable centres and check-posts of the enemy were brought under direct ground and missile attacks and our Jihadi struggle entered into a new phase.

A vital phase among the evolutionary stages of Jihad during last fourteen years was the control of villages and mostly rural areas throughout the country by Mujahidin. This phase lasted for several years and the enemy, both foreign invaders and their internal mercenary forces, tried their best to halt this process by launching huge operations, brutal night raids and indiscriminate bombardment, blind drone strikes and formation of notorious Arbaki militia but all in-vain. And eventually Mujahidin managed successfully to tighten their control and increase their influence and presence in rural and suburban areas in different provinces of all zones of Afghanistan.

At the zenith of this stage, geographically vast areas came under Mujahidin’s control and the enemy was confined and restricted to the centres of administrative unites, key military bases and to some extent only to the main highways of the country.

In the wake of ‘Azm’ (i.e. Resolve) Jihadi operations launched in the spring of last year, our struggle entered an entirely different and extraordinary phase in which tens of districts were captured and liberated from the stooge enemy throughout the country.

Previously the collapse of even a single military post was considered a humiliation for the arrogant enemy especially the foreign invaders assumed it an embarrassment for their might and supremacy and they used to do their utmost for regaining the areas lost. And one of the great achievements of successful ‘Azm’ Jihadi operations is that now the enemy has become used to losing districts one by one sometimes several per week. Most of these districts are completely evacuated by the enemy. Having lost the courage to defend the districts and having left with no other option for concealing humiliation, the defeated and embarrassed enemy has now resorted to shifting the centres of these lost districts to other places which are comparatively safer for them.

For instance four vast districts in ‘Ghazni’ province were completely conquered and liberated by Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate but the so called administrative centres of these districts were reopened by the stooge regime of Kabul in the capital city of this province. Similarly a few days earlier ‘Kharwar’ district of ‘Logar’ province was liberated by Mujahidin but the enemy announced that the centre of this district will remain operational in ‘Khwaja Angur’ area of ‘Charkh’ district situated in ‘Logar’ province.

Likewise remedy was sought by the stooge enemy in Farah, Badakhshan and Helmand provinces after losing control of several districts in these areas. It is deducible that after liberating numerous districts, if some provincial capital is captured by Mujahidin perhaps the puppet regime might inaugurate the administration of that lost province inside Kabul too. Verily this approach of the stooge enemy reveals their utter ineptitude and impending collapse.

In brief we can summarize the specifications and achievements of current Jihadi operations in the following points:

  • During the new Jihadi process, Mujahidin mostly targeted the centres of districts and tens of these districts are liberated by them. This phenomenon is the most salient features of this phase. Most of these district centres are still under Mujahidin’s control. Consequently their grip and influence has increased enormously.
  • The district liberation process is concurrently going on throughout the country. Inside Badakhshan, Herat, Helmand, Ghazni, Paktika and Kunduz provinces, these operations are equally incessant.
  • The remnants of unrestrained Arbaki militia and police forces are crushed and expelled from all rural areas and suburbs of central cities in the wake of these Jihadi operations. Most areas like ‘Kunduz’ province, which was once the stronghold of Arbaki militiamen, are now completely liberated from them.
  • During these operations, the enemy was badly defeated and embarrassed by Mujahidin. Inevitably the enemy was completely demoralized while losing self-confidence as well as their increasing internal mistrust. Accusation of fifth-column for foreigners is observed among them on high official level. Authorities have lost their trust among their subordinates. Consequently, the security forces and other officials have resorted to surrender to Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate.
  • Ammunition supply was one of the most critical issues for Mujahidin. But after capturing huge depots and confiscating enormous bounties, they are now fully self-sufficient in all kinds of light as well as heavy weaponry and artillery. Currently all kinds of military equipment including hundreds of armoured vehicles, tanks, rangers and heavy artillery are in their custody.
  • Besides capturing district centres, Mujahidin have concentrated on controlling main highways. In this series, most segments of the central and circular highway have frequently been blocked by Mujahidin for the enemy in Baghlan, Faryab, Badghis, Farah, Zabul, Ghazni and Maidan-Wardak provinces. The enemy cannot move freely and safely anywhere on this highway as they are always a vulnerable and easy target for Mujahidin.
  • Like the district centres, the enemy is threatened by Mujahidin in several provincial capitals. The centre of ‘Kunduz’ province was practically conquered by Mujahidin which was subsequently evacuated by them due to some military considerations. In addition the capital cities of Urzgan, Faryab, Zabul, Saripul, Maidan-Wardak, Ghazni, Baghlan and various other provinces are easily accessible for Mujahidin. After significant advances in ‘Babaji’ district in ‘Helmand’ province, Mujahidin are at the threshold of ‘Lashkar Gah’ city, the capital of this province.
  • The discipline and demeanour manifested by Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate during the liberation of central ‘Kunduz’ city and its adjacent districts has tremendously increased their popularity among the sincere and patriotic masses of our beloved homeland. During these conquests, no private or public assets were damaged by Mujahidin. No complaint of looting, plunder, cruelty and aggression is filed by ordinary local people against them. No disputes of bounties among Mujahidin is reported neither was any chaos observed. It rocketed the reputation and prestige of Mujahidin both nationally and internationally.

Nevertheless this new phase of Jihadi process is quite significant and decisive which identifies the rise of Jihadi movement and the decline of both the foreign invaders as well as the stooge enemy. We sincerely pray to Allah Almighty that like all previous phases, this phase of our holy struggle may succeed and result in the overwhelming victory and liberation of our country and the restoration of divine Islamic Sharia here!!!

Islamic Emirate: Afghanistan continues to be a dangerous place

t567890-98765

Post via Islamic Emirate

The Islamic Emirate’s recent attacks in Kabul and around the country have shown that the Mujahideen can still effectively target the foreign occupiers whenever they want. After the attacks in Kabul the American occupiers faced yet another tragedy in Helmand province.

The American’s officially announced an end to their combat role in Afghanistan more than a year ago. Yet on the ground the war is still very much raging on. American occupying forces continue to raid Afghan homes in various parts of the country and violate the sensibilities of our people.

Two weeks ago, American Special Forces arrived at Marjah’s Chur Charahi area to assist the embattled Kabul regime forces. They attacked the Mujahideen positions through air strikes and artillery bombardment. After that the Mujahideen forces ferociously counter-attacked their positions, causing casualties within the foreign ranks. At that point an American helicopter arrived to help the ground troops but it came under heavy fire – and its efforts to scramble up from the ground – the helicopter came in contact with a wall and crashed. This incident caused heavy losses amongst the passengers inside.

After this incident reports arrived that the American forces had evacuated Marjah district and left the Kabul forces to their plight.

The recent casualties amongst America’s elite forces had a profound impact on that nation. The Daily Beast published a scathing article titled “Afghan War Returns to Blood and Shadows”. The subheading read “The death of a U.S. service member and injuries to two more are shrouded in mystery”. The article went on its criticism and even accused the Pentagon of refusing to explain their mission in an increasingly secretive conflict.

The White House’s spokesperson – Josh Ernest – addressed the recent American casualties by stating that “Afghanistan continues to be a dangerous place”. The spokesman tried to justify the recent casualties by arguing that the American forces had to continue to put their lives at risk in Afghanistan in order to protect America’s security at home. Yet he failed to elaborate how the conflict in Afghanistan has made America safer.

To this day no Afghan has gone to that country to carry out attacks nor have they killed any Americans outside of Afghanistan. If Afghans have killed any Americans it is only those that came to our country and tried to colonize our nation. Even the White House will have to admit that Afghans only to continue to fight the American’s as long as they occupy our country. The moment they leave our sacred land, we will bid them farewell by saying “good riddance”.

End

A Pakistan educational establishment once again came under attack today when unknown assailants gained access to Bacha Khan University in Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkha by scaling a wall and cutting barbed wire. Saeed Khan Wazir, a police official, told Associated Press, they shot at a security guard before making their way to the administration building and the male students’ dormitories. Several blasts were heard with gunmen opening fire on students and staff.

A poetry recital was scheduled to take place in honour of the university’s namesake, Pashtun activist Abdul Ghaffar (Bacha Khan) and hundreds of visitors were expected at the venue. At least 30 people were killed and 50 injured in the assault including students, a professor, a member of a bomb disposal squad and 4 attackers. DAWN media stated,

“Witnesses reported two large explosions as security forces moved in under dense fog to halt the bloodshed.

Police, soldiers and special forces swarmed the university from the ground and the air in a bid to shut down the attack.”

The Charsadda attack comes just over a year after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) attacked Army Public School in Peshawar (December 2014) where the death toll reached 140. Taliban had warned in previous weeks that if torture and extra-judicial killing in custody did not stop, army and police would be targeted. Pakistan’s military had already launched an ongoing operation Zarb-eAsb to clear the Federally Administered Tribal (FATA) Areas from militants but many has advance intelligence and located over the border into Afghanistan.

TTP condemned and denied any involvement in the Charsadda attack releasing an official statement,

AQIM statement released on Splendid Hotel names attackers in “revenge operation” and indicates ease of access

CY9OnX5WkAEH9AN

Al Qaeda in Maghreb (AQIM) have released a statement in Arabic detailing their “revenge operation” carried out by Al Murabitoon group on the Splendid Hotel in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso. At least 28 people died in the luxury hotel which is popular with foreign diplomats and according to the Guardian, “sometimes used sometimes used by French troops with Operation Barkhane, a force based in Chad and set up to combat Islamic militants across Africa’s vast, arid Sahel region. AQIM had released an statement earlier claiming responsibility for the attack, see following link,

“AL Qaeda claims responsibility for attack on Splendid Hotel, Burkina Faso”

https://activist1.wordpress.com/2016/01/16/al-qaeda-claims-responsibility-for-attack-at-splendid-hotel-burkina-faso/

An account that posted the latest statement told me,

“Three individuals are identified that carried out the attacks. They killed head of criminals belong to different nationalities. They were advised not to kill children, women or old. Peace is an international term. If they’d leave us, we’d leave them safe in their own places. Otherwise, war is ON.”

SITE intel group released the following tweets in relation to the AQIM statement

#AQIM identified the attackers as Ahmed al-Buqali al-Ansari, al-Battar al-Ansari, and Ahmed al-Fulani al-Ansari.

AQIM: “This blessed op comes within a series of operations to cleanse the land of Islam and Muslims from the dens of global espionage…”

Rukmini Callimachi, Foreign correspondent for the New York Times, (focusing on al-Qaeda and ISIS) points out in a tweet,

The statement says the team of attackers spent considerable time casing the hotel & Cappucino Cafe, pointing to ease of access

Al-Fulani, the name ascribed to one of AQIM‘s attackers at hotel, indicates the assailant was Peul, major ethnic group in Africa

Referring to the post, “Abdur” was keen to point out to me the following on Twitter, “we all know about looting of resources of Muslim lands in middle east… but the French government and it allies are doing same things in north Africa. still has not able to lose their interest in its past colonies. as these countries have uranium which helps nuclear reactor of France to run..

Islamic State: Wilayat Khorasan say leader not droned in Afghanistan, Hafiz Saeed Khan “voice” on audio link.

b7clvfdcaaagv-t1

Still from Wilayat Khorasan video

Contacts loyal to Islamic State (Wilayat Khorasan) have denied the death of leader Hafiz Saeed Khan in a drone strike in Afghanistan on Thursday claiming he is alive. An audio recording was circulated, IS did confirm others have been killed with some media reports claiming at least 11 deaths. The audio was in Pashto and therefore translated. The recording could not be independently verified but was uploaded on on 1/17/2016…details as follows,

Audio (translation of main points)

This is a clip about the death of Hafiz Saeed Khan. The radio presenter calls Hafiz Saeed and speaks to him directly saying that two days ago there were reports that you had been injured in a drone strike and then later died. Can you please tell us about this and give assurance to the people and Ummah that Hafiz sahib is alive and well.

Hafiz Saeed: These are all lies and they are not telling the truth I am well and I request the Muslims not to believe in these lies. I am well and alright and tell all Muslims about this that Wilayat Khorasan is operating in an organised way. They are not facing any hardship. All our friends are OK and organised. It is a lie started by the kafir. [end]

Radio presenter: Thank you for taking time out from your precious schedule and giving this happy news to the Momins and making them happy. Dear listeners this was Wilayat Khorasan, Hafiz Saeed Khan who himself said that he is fine. So now you can understand how the kufur people are spreading lies and false news that he was injured in drone strike and then later died.

[END]

When checking on the date of recording, I was told the following, “yes it is his recording after this drone strike. They are using the word Achin and the recent strikes were in Achin. now i am not sure where the previous (drone) strikes had been but back then there was no khilafat radio, so this conversation could not have taken place back then, that is for sure.”

Voice of America (VOA) also published the following,

“Achin district Governor Haji Ghalib, who had reported Hafiz Saeed Khan’s death Thursday, told VOA’s Afghan Service Friday: “The information we received yesterday was not accurate.  After receiving accurate information, we realized he had not been killed.”

US has only recently designated ISIS Khorasan (Wilayat Khorasan) a Foreign Terrorist Organization but has targeted the group by drone over the past year leading to a number of deaths. This brings into question legal and moral issues once again, increases the radicalization of youth and the possibility of retaliation attacks putting the public at risk.

Islamic Emirate (Afghan Taliban) have denied involvement in a suicide bombing targeting the home of a tribal elder belonging to a prominent political family in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan. Obaidullah Shinwari is a member of Nangarhar’s provincial council. The blast killed 13 people and left 14 wounded including Shinwari. Reuters reported,

“people had gathered to celebrate his son’s release from Taliban captivity, local officials said. The son was killed and at least 14 people, including his father, were wounded in the attack, according to Attaullah Khogyani, a spokesman for the provincial governor.”

Abdulqahar Balkhi an English speaking account associated with IE spokesperson Zabihulla Mujahid tweeted,

#Attention all Media. Blast inside a home in killing several people has nothing to do the Mujahidin of IEA

Rahim Gul Sarwan, a journalist with VOA posted a photograph of Malik Osman who had allegedly lost a relative in the incident,

“Malak Osman, from Achen Shinwaries elder. he is the man who is against Taliban & IS in Nangarhar, he lost his son”

Malik Osman, the head of the family suffered injuries and has been flow to Kabul for treatment.

The San Francisco Chronicle stated,

“the family and guests had gathered to mark the release of another of Osman’s sons, Samiullah, eight months after he was kidnapped and held by the Taliban. Samiullah was wounded in the attack, but not seriously, according to Zabiullah Zamaray, another provincial council member.

The day before the attack, hundreds of residents of Achin district — where Shinwari’s nephew Nasim is governor — held a demonstration calling on authorities to rid the region of insurgents, including a newly formed Islamic State affiliate that recently seized parts of the province after a summer of fierce fighting with the Taliban.”

Images from local media showed men at the residence in Jalalabad still seated on chairs amid the rubble. They had died where they sat. So far no-one has claimed responsibility for the attack. Islamic State did claim responsibility for a recent attack on the Pakistani Consulate in Jalalabad, see “Links” section.

Nangarhar has seen fierce fighting between the Taliban and Islamic State (Wilayat Khorasan) recently designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the US. Afghanistan is working to revive stalled “peace talks” with the Taliban alongside Pakistan, the United States and China. However Islamic Emirate do not appear engaged and their yearly Spring Offensive, Operation Azm has turned into year round fighting. Balkhi posted an article from IE…. the  title did not boost optimism for talks any time soon,

Islamic Emirate: Another government scandal

fasad

Post via Islamic Emirate

The Kabul Bank case has not yet fully subsided before another government corruption scandal came to surface. A couple of weeks ago independent media sources revealed a report by Parliament’s Drug-Prevention Committee on the scale of government corruption. Details of this report are provided below.

The report stated that up until 2014, foreign donors had injected just over 41 billion dollars in hard currency into Afghanistan. However corrupt officials – including at the highest level – embezzled over 21 billion dollars from this amount in such a manner that they have left no traces of records behind.

The majority of these funds had been earmarked for the Kabul security sector such as the training and recruitment of trainees and as salaries for the enlisted men. According to the report a large amount of this missing cash was extracted under guises of ghost soldiers and enlistments.

In addition the 90% of the oil supplies that were imported in the country to supply the foreign occupying forces were stolen by over a dozen supply firms which according to the Committee’s report are owned by high ranking army and government officials.

The corrupt officials of Kabul regime consistently accuse the Mujahideen of impeding progress and development in Afghanistan, while in reality the Mujahideen have always encouraged development in this nation and offered their full cooperation in those projects that are not driven by ulterior motives. The Mujahideen only oppose those projects which are forwarded by corrupt officials or which use such projects to advance ulterior motives harmful to Afghan society.

Yet despite all this the officials of Kabul regime and their foreign backers continuously argue that had it not been for the presence of the Mujahideen, they would have taken great strides in development of this country.

Now slowly but surely we are being exposed to government scandals through which officials divert all donor funds for their own personal accounts. These officials demoted national interests for their personal interests and have no other motive than to fill their own coffers.

If foreign donors really wish to help Afghanistan then they should shun government channels for funneling their funds and instead insist on the establishment of accountable and transparent organizations for overseeing and distributing foreign funds. If they continue with their failed method then they will only be causing more harm to the Afghan society rather than bettering their lot.

End
