J and K government causes delay before Supreme Court: Kunan Poshpora mass rape and torture case of 1991

Kunan-Poshpora

“Justice delayed is justice denied” still no accountability for Kunan Poshpora (Image via Youth Ki Awaaz)

Press Release

30 April 2016

In December 2014, Government of Jammu and Kashmir challenged before the Supreme Court the Srinagar High Court orders to pay compensation to the Kunan Poshpora mass rape and torture victims of 23/24 February 1991. These orders were passed by the Srinagar High Court in a petition filed by five survivors of Kunan Poshpora seeking investigations and justice.

To date, more than a year later, the case remains with the Supreme Court registry, which is still seeking objections and responses from the parties. Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ensured delay in this matter by the manner in which it has served the other parties in the case. On 29 April the case was heard by the Supreme Court Registrar who noted that Wajahat Habibullah [then Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir] and then Press Council of India member Vikram Rao have yet to even be served notice of this case by the Government. Meanwhile, the 9 officers of the 4 Rajputana Rifles made parties to the petition have been given four more weeks to file their response. Union of India [Ministry of Defence] has failed to file its response in this case and no further opportunity will be provided to do so as per the Registrar’s earlier orders of 30 September 2015. The case is next listed on 12 August 2016 before the registry.

The survivors of Kunan Poshpora have at every forum – including the Supreme Court – emphasized the urgency for fair and independent investigations. But, Government of J&K has chosen to take the issue of compensation before the Supreme Court in a clear attempt to completely stall investigations in this case that were otherwise being pursued before the Srinagar bench of the High Court. In March 2016, the survivors wrote a letter to Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, T.S. Thakur seeking the urgent attention of the court to the Kunan Poshpora case. The survivors have received no favorable response to this letter and now face a further three month delay in the case.

To date, six victims of rape and torture have died but it is clear that Government of J&K and the army have no concern for the victims and are hoping to frustrate them through the legal process itself.

Islamic Emirate: In Memory of an ascetic Muslim Leader

mullah_umar_kandahar

Post via Islamic Emirate

Three years ago an ascetic leader said his goodbye to this transient world and moved to his everlasting abode.

Yes the same leader whose every moment in power was recorded as an act of valor.

This ascetic king was the leader of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan – Mullah Muhammad Umar Mujahid – who founded his state in pursuit of his Jihadi longings.

His time in power however brief had a tremendously positive effect on the entire Muslim nation.

It was during the reign of this Muslim leader that for the first time in the Islamic Afghanistan arrogant crusaders were apprehended for their undercover missionary activities, thrown in jails and their governments left begging the leadership of Islamic Emirate for their release.

It was during his reign that the oppressed Muslims worldwide fled oppression to take refuge under his protective shield.

It was during his reign that the delayed rulings of Shariah were again enforced and peace established in the mountain peaks and valleys of his domain affording an opportunity of rest and prosperity for its residents.

It was during his reign that the governance system of Afghanistan became Islamic, its economic system Islamic, foreign policy Islamic and source for all rulings derived from the Holy Quran, Prophetic Traditions and Islamic Jurisprudence.

It was due to this reason the western powers began viewing the kingdom of this Mujahid ascetic leader as danger for themselves and promptly summoned an array of crusader nations under the leadership of George W. Bush to invade the ‘Graveyard of Empires’.

However this valiant leader offered the path of reason and logic to the arrogant Americans in place of force and stubbornness, an offer rejected by the conceited crusaders who invaded the Islamic land of Afghanistan only to find this Mujahid leader remaining firm in his Islamic stance.

He declared Jihad against the crusading coalition with complete reliance in Allah and complete confidence in His divine victory.

For 12 years – with astonishing bravery and under extreme circumstances – he led this historic resistance against world infidel powers. Such leadership the military tactics and maneuvers of which left the scholars of international military academies bewildered and military generals of NATO and the US overwhelmed.

This leader led this miraculous resistance against international coalition of the crusaders from the dusty villages and mud compounds of his country. Throughout these 12 years of Jihad he not only dismissed the advanced enemy technology but was also insusceptible from their satellites.

He was in contact with his Mujahideen 24 hours a day yet the enemy not only failed to identify his location but were never even aware of his communication channels established from the frontlines.

Truly, Mullah Muhammad Umar Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) challenged the western concept of surveillance and advanced technology by adopting village level tactics. They (western world) not only failed in detecting his whereabouts but were also unable to secure their lives and interests from his Jihadi strikes.

Truly Allah fulfilled His promise to His slave when His humble slave declared:

“I am considering two promises. One is the promise of Allah, the other is that of Bush. The promise of Allah is that my land is vast. If you start a journey on Allah’s path, you can reside anywhere on this earth and will be protected… The promise of Bush is that there is no place on earth where you can hide that I cannot find. We will see which one of these two promises is fulfilled.”

Allahu Akbar, who was this man, Mullah Umar Mujahid or Caliph Umar Khattab?

A man who retaught us the meaning and essence of Tawhid!!!

Come let us glance over what the some of the ideologues, scholars and political analysts of the Islamic world who commented about this giant of history on their twitter feeds following the announcement of his passing away by the Islamic Emirate.

The ideologue and teacher of many Jihadi leaders, Sheikh Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi:

May Allah have mercy on the Imam, Mullah Umar. His example can rarely be found in our time. He established the law of Allah on earth, gave refuge to immigrants, accepted the advice of advisors and fought against the infidels up until he met certainty (death).

The Great Saudi Muhaddith and Faqih, Sheikh Sulaiman al-Ulwan:

I read through all the pages of history but could not find a leader like Mullah Umar who sacrificed his kingdom for the sake of sovereignty of the religion of Allah. May Allah have mercy on him and bestow upon him Jannatul Firdaws (highest paradise).

Dr. Hakim al-Mutairi

The Islamic world lost a great Islamic leader with the passing away of Mullah Umar. A leader who waged a historic struggle against the international crusader coalition.

O the leader of Islamic world! You truly were an Imam of the Muslim world such that the current and future generations of the Ummah and all their Jihadi and ideological movements and schools of jurisprudence shall follow your footsteps.

O great teacher, have you really left us behind!?

Dr. Shamil:

Come, let’s rewrite all the lingual dictionaries in the world. Let’s remove the word ‘manhood’ from all and replace it with the name Mullah Umar…

Abu Hamza Dar’awi:

It is an Islamic matter that whosoever dies while stationed at the frontlines against the enemy is a martyr. May Allah accept the martyrdom of the martyr Mullah Umar (Mujahid) and grant him Jannatul Firdaws.

Abu Azzam Ansari:

رجلٌ عظيم .. في كيانٍ أعظم
ترجّل الأمير .. لكنّ القافلة ستسير

Great Man .. in the greatest Entity

The Prince dismounts .. but the caravan continues

Islamic Emirate: Remarks by spokesman of Islamic Emirate concerning latest speech by Ashraf Ghani

alemarah-flag

Post via Islamic Emirate

On Monday the head of the surrogate Kabul administration Ashraf Ghani addressed a spectacle called the Parliament during which he used rather strong language about the Afghan conundrum, Mujahideen and Jihadi struggle in an effort to conceal undisputed facts and deviate common thinking.

We wish to present our answer to the speech by Ashraf Ghani in the following lines.

Every intelligent persons understands that Afghanistan has been occupied by the American infidels and a war between disbelief and Islam is taking place in it. The head of this falsehood is the American Pharaoh given a local face under the leadership of Ghani and Abdullah working as mercenary forces in this war launched against Islam.

The American invasion of Afghanistan was the initiation of the third phase in the historic aggression by the western crusaders against the Islamic Ummah. The westerners have repeatedly attacked the Islamic world for the purpose of subduing, enslaving and avenging conquests attained by the Muslim Ummah at its peak. This first phase began from the middle of 11th-century and lasted till the end of 13th-century which have historically been dubbed The Crusades. The second phase of war against Islam by the west began at the end of the 18th-century and lasted till the middle of the 20th-century which are historically known as Imperialist Wars which resulted in the entire Islamic world – barring Hijaz and Afghanistan – becoming colonies and under direct occupation of western ransacking hordes.

In the mid-twentieth century the presence of the Eastern Block and Cold War had apparently prevented direct invasions by the west but with the defeat of the Soviet Union, America declared a New World Order and once again launched wars of occupation against the Muslims by invading Afghanistan at the onset of the 21st-century.

In light of the provided background, the legal and religious status of the ongoing war in Afghanistan and position of the parties becomes as clear as the daylight. This war against Islam, Quran and Muslims is a war of occupation by the western infidels, disbelievers and forces holding animosity against the Holy Quran. If the first and second invasions of the west were countered by the likes of Salahuddin Ayubi, Imaduddin Zengi, Izz-addin Qassam, Umar Mukhtar, Ghazi Akbar Khan, Mir Masjidi Khan and Mullah Mushki Alam, then this banner of resistance against today’s western American invasion have been raised by Mullah Muhammad Umar Mujahid, Akhtar Muhammad Mansoor and Jalaluddin Haqqani.

In this war between Kufr and Islam, the role of local American mercenaries today with the likes of Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah is that which was played by Shah Shuja and Babrak Karmal yesterday. They are the allies of the infidels, are traitors to Islam, Muslims and the believing nation and have stepped forward to wage war against the Muslim masses under the command and control of the infidels.

In light of the explicit rulings of Shariah, their administration is exactly as those of the warring infidels. That is why they are attacked and killed by the Mujahideen, their institutions demolished and every legal pathway employed to wipe away their corruption.

We understand and believe with true conviction that America with its armies and local auxiliaries is waging a war against our religion. They seek to promote irreligiosity, secularism, obscenity, nudity, adultery, desegregation, interest, gambling and music. They want to inject our nation with infidel culture, push them towards infidelity and atheism, encourage them towards democracy and rejection of Islam, nurture racism and nationalism instead of Islamic brotherhood as well as replace Islamic morality with liberalism and immorality.

It is due to these purposes that they have nurtured and imposed puppets like Ashraf Ghani on this country through barefaced interventionism. It is due to this that hundreds of channels, organizations and secret societies have been tasked with combatting religious and Afghan values. Religious Afghans and owners of turban and beards are locked up behind bars, devout students are martyred, pious university teachers and mosque Imams are thrown in jails, religious authority and rituals are mocked through varying excuses, and their entire efforts are focused on belittling all values of Islam and religiosity in the eyes of this nation.

But the western warring states and transgressors as well as partners and allies of the invading infidels should remember that our pious vigilant nation understands your worth and the worth of your system. That the entire nation – from Badakhshan to Nimroz – has accepted the order of Allah in unison. Their march and declaration of Jihad in defense of their religion clearly shows that this nation is alert, astute and committed to protecting its religious sanctities.

The armies of falsehood must understand that they can never deface the reality to the valiant sons of Islam with such drivel. Both Truth and Falsehood are as bright as the sun. Everyone can differentiate between the armies of the Merciful and the armies of Satan. Everyone realizes who the knights enforcing the Quran are and which party has given all power of dismissal, appointment and legislation to the American statesman, John Kerry.

The dreams of victory and amount by which the armies of falsehood exude confidence due to the support of the American Idol, the armies of Islam are a thousand times more convinced in victory and ready to sacrifice for their convictions.

The puppets of the west under the leadership of Ashraf Ghani as well as supporters of the infidel invaders should understand that their fate shall be similar to those who commit national treason. Those who terrorize their own people with American dollars, American weapons and foreign backing and provide coordination to foreign aircrafts to target their own countrymen must understand that they shall most definitely be brought to justice for their crimes and treason sooner or later.

Comrades of the invading infidels!

If you are not tired of butchering your own countrymen, understand that we never fatigue in defending our pious masses. If you are not repentant of toiling for the American Pharoah, we also consider fighting (due to the order of Allah) against the infidels as Jihad and sacred combat. As you concoct rationale for fighting in the way of Taghut (Idol), we hold firmly onto the Quran and Prophetic Traditions which order us to march forward against the infidels and defines fighting in the path of Allah as the highest pillar of Islam.

Remember whenever this nation has marched forward under the banner of religion then no power in the world has defeated it. Use whatever power you have at your disposal but know that final victory belongs to believers whereas the emissaries of the infidels – like Shah Shuja, Babrak Karmal and others – shall be recorded as a black blot in history and their names synonymized with shame.

Islamic Emirate: Sacred Jihad is a Divine Obligation and Moral Responsibility

alemarah-flag

Post via Islamic Emirate

War is an act contrary to human nature and civilization. A wise person does not like fighting rather hates the devastative and gruesome impact of war. A person of sound temperament prefers to lead a civilized life in harmonious atmosphere of peace with others. Every human wants preservation of his religion, life, property, family and honor. To realize these desires of human beings and to worship Almighty Allah in an atmosphere of peace, it was the blessings and grace of Almighty Allah that He, the Almighty revealed Islamic system to provide legitimate demands and necessities of human beings, to stop violation of individual’s and social rights by unscrupulous people and to restrain the hands of people who want to play with life and future of the people and create chaos.

An important part of Islamic system is jihad. Jihad is sacred fighting made obligatory upon Muslims by Almighty Allah for the prevention of oppression, barbarism and brutality and to pave the way for a peaceful life and elimination of mischief on earth. This is the reason that Almighty Allah says in the Holy Quran.

Permission (to take up arms) is hereby given to those who are fought against, because they have been oppressed. (Verse:39, Chapter:22)

Almighty Allah has commanded us in Chapter Al Baqara (the Cow) that standing of Mujahideen against transgressors and defeat of tyrants and mischief-makers like Goliath on the field of fighting is necessary in order to reform the system on earth. Contrarily, staying away from jihad and not protecting religious values would have devastating impact on entire world as a whole.

Had Allah not defeated some by the might of others, the earth would have been utterly corrupted. But Allah is a Lord of kindness to His creatures. (Verse:251, Chapter:2)

The entire world knows that American invaders and their brutal army have created chaos in our beloved country during past fifteen years. Afghans have suffered enormous brutalities committed by them, innocent people were massacred, entire villages and areas demolished and they have even not show mercy to women, children and civilians. Furthermore, there oppression was moral mischief and promotion of secularism. They spent billions of dollars to deviate Afghans from their culture, national traditions and moral values. Most importantly, they invaded our blessed land, usurped the freedom and sovereignty of our country and imposed war on us. These brutalities of invaders have compelled Afghans to take up arms against oppression for the protection of their religion, life, property and honor and to practically implement the Divine commandment regarding the obligation of Jihad.

These are the reasons that recent statement of Islamic Emirate considers continuation of sacred Jihad necessary for protection of life, property and honor of the people. But at the same time the Islamic Emirate has kept the doors open for people in opposition through Sharia based invitation and guidance program, wants prevention of civilian casualties and has given assurance to all Afghans regarding protection of their life and property. In one part of the statement, it has been mentioned that “during the planning of Omari Operations, Mujahideen have been unequivocally instructed to pay specific attention to civilians and public installations during implementation of their operations.……..during Omari operations, Islamic Emirate is committed to protect life and property of the residents in those areas, villages and cities where Mujahideen establish their control and Islamic Emirate consider it her own responsibility.”

Kashmir: Handwara minor girl to remain in police custody (JKCCS press release)

muslim_women_by_ghostserver

Minor girl (who cannot be identified) to remain in police custody

(Image, Deviant Art)

Press release
26 April 2016

For the third time, the case of the 16 year old girl under unlawful police detention and subject to daily intimidation and harassment was heard by the Division Bench, Jammu and Kashmir High Court with a simple prayer: that she be set free. The Handwara minor girl has been video recorded [that in turn was widely circulated by the army], slapped, spat at, had her phone snatched, personal space violated, randomly moved around, been under constant surveillance and kept detained. All of this against her will.

The petition of the mother of the minor girl had been clubbed with the PIL filed by the Bar Association and was to be heard today. Beyond the important legal issues, the main thrust of arguments to be advanced today was that the minor girl be set free and out of the oppressive police custody immediately. It was to be argued that other issues could be dealt with subsequently. The court heard the Advocate General and the President, Bar President, for close to three hours on the PIL. The respective counsels were heard on matters of fact and law. Before hearing full arguments from the counsel of the mother of the minor girl stressing the production of the girl before the court as even suggested by the Advocate General, the court rose after directing that the matter be listed on 2 May 2016 and the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and Union of India file their responses. Counsel for the minor girl sought to pass on an application from the girl to the State Women’s Commission [SWC] wherein the minor girl had yesterday requested the Chairperson for urgent relocation to Srinagar and had cited the specific intimidation she had been facing from the police. The court directed this document to be filed formally with Registry. Counsel for the minor girl was also unable to place on record that the minor girl today was stopped by the police from leaving for Srinagar from Zachaldara, to observe the High Court hearing and later also meet with the Chairperson of the SWC, Nayeema Mehjoor.

The High Court is a constitutional court with wide powers including, in some respects, greater than even the Supreme Court. Unfortunately, the minor girl has to face continued police custody.
Earlier in the morning, when the minor girl and her family were prevented by the police from leaving from Zachaldara, the minor girl spoke on phone with the Chairperson, SWC, who asked her to pass on the phone to Masroor Ahmad, the Divisional Officer of police chowki Zachaldara. Masroor refused to speak to Nayeema Mehjoor. Later JKCCS representative had a meeting with Nayeema Mehjoor and formally handed over the copy of the letter written by the Handwara minor girl. The Chairperson SWC stated that she would visit the minor girl soon and look into the possibility of bringing her to Srinagar. JKCCS informed the Chairperson SWC that on the one hand, government claims that the minor girl and family are not under preventive detention, and only protection is being given to them, but on the other hand the Police is brazenly regulating her movement and even today prevented her from visiting the High Court and the office of the SWC.

JKCCS believes that through these lies and restrictions the government wants to break the will of the minor girl and her family to continue their struggle for justice, which of course will lead to culpability of Police and government officials.

A “mother event” is being held in front of the White House in Washington DC hosted by Sanna Hijabsta Naq, Tahir Qazi and Wajahat Kureshi. The following information was  posted on the Facebook site,

Kashmir is BLEEDING. We are bleeding.

The recent events leading to the death of six Kashmiris in Indian Occupied Kashmir have torn apart unhealed wounds in the hearts of the Kashmiri community worldwide. These innocent civilians were murdered by the indian armed forces during a protest march, after reports of a sexual assault on a minor girl by the indian troops. The troops fired on the protesters to kill them by shooting them in the head and upper body parts. A curfew was imposed in the area and mobile internet services suspended after the killings. The indian troops are protected by draconian indian laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act and cannot be prosecuted in civilian courts for any crimes against the citizens of Kashmir.

Kashmiri diaspora community is outraged. In an unprecedented effort to remember the innocent victims and to pray for the safety of Kashmiris, people of conscience led by Kashmiri diaspora, will hold candlelight vigils on Friday, April 22nd, at 8:00 p.m. local time wherever they are. A young generation of Kashmiri diaspora, without any political affiliations, is leading the effort. They have organized peaceful candlelight vigils and silent sit-ins throughout the globe from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles, United States. In addition to planned vigils in front of the White House in Washington DC and United Nations Headquarters in New York City, the vigils are planned to take place in greater Philadelphia area, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Colorado and other cities in the United States of America; Toronto and Edmonton in Canada, Bangladesh, Nepal and Chennai in India; Dubai, Muscat, Kuwait, and other places in the Gulf; Sydney, Australia; London, Brussels, Oslo, and other cities in the European Union; and Azad, Kashmir, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Srinagar, Kashmir.

Protest in Nepal (Posted by Qazi Zaid)

Kashmir is the heaviest militarized region in the world, according to the Guinness book of world records. People of Kashmir want international community to intervene and speak on their behalf for their safety and their human rights. They want to live a life of dignity and honor and want politicians in the region to leave them alone to choose their own destiny. Thousands of innocent lives have been lost and untold miseries perpetrated on a small nation for nothing but their desire to exercise their rights of self determination enshrined in International law. It is time that International community remembers that this wanton destruction of life is not mere statistics, but actual people in flesh and blood. As the Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel has said, “To remain silent and indifferent is the greatest sin of all.” No more, should be the cry of the people of conscience throughout the world.

Please show up on time, invite your friends and spread the word. Thank you!

On April 12, 2016, four people were killed, two shot dead and scores are feared injured after protests spurred as an Indian army trooper molested a minor girl (aged 16) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Handwara town.

The youth Mohammad Iqbal, who is a resident of Bomham in Kupwor district, received a bullet wound in his face and was admitted to district hospital. Doctors said he was dead on arrival. Another youth, Naeem Qadir Bhat, a cricketeer, who was a local from the police district, has also been killed. He also received a bullet wound and was declared dead. A woman was on the balcony of her house as a bullet hit her and she was immediately rushed to the hospital where later she passed away. Thus far 6 people were killed and many others severely injured.

Enough is enough. We ask you to come together and stand in solidarity for the innocent souls who lost their lives and the others that have been killed since 1989.

San’aa Saleem organised a vigil in Trafalgar Square London posting the following message on a special Facebook page,

Salaaam/Peace All,

There’s just two hours to go before this kicks off. I know its a tad cold outside and its a little bit rainy but the human spirit is so resillient that no matter what the weather we still stand together against the injustice around us. Today another soul was lost in Kashmir. This news reaches us with heavy hearts.

But today is Friday/Jummah which is a blessed day for Muslims and its raining outside. And as some of the team reminded me this morning, in my religion we believe that Rain is a form of Mercy from Allah swt. Whenever I think about this I’m reminded of how beautiful this kind of appreciation is. Not only do we appreciate what it gone, but what is present and the things which we value moving forward.

I can cast my mind back to moments we’ve all stood together in the rain to ask for what is rightfully ours and to mourn those we have lost as we push on with our relentless struggles. These moments transcend history.

I hope tonight is one of these times. And I hope you will join us to share in memory and the making of history.

See you at 8PM in Trafalgar Square.
Bring a candle and a prayer.

Islamic Emirate statement: Who were actually killed in the recent Kabul attack?

کارمندان-ریاست-ده

Post via Islamic Emirate

Recently, Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate successfully managed to demolish the center of those arrogant devils who were not only defiant to their Almighty Creator, but had also committed unforgettable felonies against their own innocent and oppressed countrymen.

By carrying out this meticulous and deadly attack in the heart of the enemy, Mujahidin challenged their ‘five year security plan’. It was an unprecedented attack, at the distance of only a few hundred meters from the Presidential Palace, resulting in heavy casualties and losses to the mercenary forces and humiliation for the heterogeneous stooge setup of Kabul.

This well-planned complex attack disclosed the inefficiency and weakness of puppet Kabul regime which was trying to boost the morale of its mercenary forces by deceiving them regarding its own strength and discipline. Since they were deeply embarrassed by this incident, they tried to cover their humiliation by exaggerating the civilian losses caused.

Let us investigate the reality by analyzing the following statements of various media outlets and then decide who was actually targeted and killed in this attack!!

‘Markazi Press’ quoting a member of so the called national assembly said that fifty eight workers of the national security directorate were killed in this incident, further addeding that the actual losses were several times the number admitted by the stooge officials.

‘Ufuq’ news agency also reported that 58 security personnel were killed and cited Markazi Press. This parliamentarian had visited several hospitals after the incident and said that he saw thirty five dead bodies of Directorate 10 in the national security hospital and twenty more dead bodies in the ‘400 Bed Hospital’. This news agency added that the attackers entered the premises of the directorate as sixty employees of this organ were taking a class. Two persons, who were injured in the incident, said that fifty eight workers were inside the classroom, most of whom were either shot in their heads or chests.

These casualties were inflicted in only one classroom. About the additional losses and casualties of fighting, ‘Tolo’ news agency said that this directorate which providing security to the political elite was complete secured on all sides. The compound of ‘Haji Naeem Kochi’ was situated on its western side where numerous vehicles of this directorate were parked. The vehicle full of explosives and designated for the operation parked adjacent to the wall of this directorate before blowing up moments later. Fifteen workers busily training near the wall were killed on the spot. Two guards watching from the guard towers and five workers guarding the premises of this directorate were also killed.

‘Tolo’ adds that following the blast, multiple attackers entered the premises of the directorate and killed twenty officials on the first floor. Ten other workers, who were hiding behind a room, were also killed by the attackers. Tens of official vehicles parked in the adjacent compound of ‘Haji Naeem Kochi’ were destroyed and some of their drivers killed.

According to ‘Tolo’ the blast did not take place near the main road or close to the crowds which would have cause collateral damage to civilians. Rather the explosives laden vehicle was detonated in the parking lot between the official vehicles and the adjacent wall of this directorate thus hitting military targets on both sides.

Another local newspaper ‘Mandegar Daily’ reported that four hundred workers of directorate were killed and injured in this incident. On the other hand, the so called interior ministry of the stooge admin, while announcing the latest casualty toll said that 411 persons were killed and wounded in this blast. If we were to accept the officially released figures, it can easily deduced that only 11 civilians were injured because according to Mandegar Daily, 400 casualties belonged to the very directorate which was targeted.

Although injuries to civilians is very painful and regrettable but unfortunately such light injuries are inevitable in the huge blast which would have shattered windows of nearby buildings.

According to the above reports the large majority of killed and injured were in fact workers of the stooge regime and therefore – to save face – the targeted security directorate, biased media channels and some supposed human right organizations exaggerated the civilian toll and released pictures which were either not from Afghanistan or were of past incidents.

The reality is that the vigilant Afghan masses cannot be taken in any more by the deceitful tactics of the enemy. They have fully realized that the propaganda machine (media) is controlled by enemy which spreads false information suiting their interests. The Afghan masses can discern and identify their real enemies and murderers. They are the ones who brutally killed nearly one hundred innocent civilians in ‘Kunduz’ province over the past few days, who martyred nine ordinary countrymen a week ago in Kharwar district of Logar and who indiscriminately slaughtered around twenty teachers, tribal chieftains and innocent youth in Gomal district of Paktika. None of these bitter facts and figures can be concealed by the false deceiving propaganda of the foreign invaders nor by their internal stooge regime officials who seek to attribute their felonies to the Mujahidin of Islamic Emirate who are deeply rooted amongst the pious freedom loving people of this land, and who are determined to expel the foreign invaders from their beloved homeland by defeating their internal mercenary forces and the stooge regime!!!

Insha-Allah (God-willing)!!!

Drone victims speak out, ahead of Obama’s civilian deaths estimate (Reprieve statement)

A video project launched today by the Guardian and Reprieve details the civilian impact of the US covert drone programme, through the voices of those who have lost family members to the strikes.

In the video interviews, six clients of the human rights organization Reprieve – all of whom lost innocent family members to covert US drone strikes in Pakistan and Yemen – talk about the aftermath of those strikes, and the difficulties of ‘life after drones’ without accountability for the killings.

Their stories come ahead of the expected release of the first White House estimate of the numbers of civilians killed by US drones. Asked about the issue two weeks ago, President Obama said there was “no doubt” that civilians had been killed by drones. He has given no indication, however, that he intends to name or otherwise acknowledge those civilians beyond the release of total numbers.

The six Reprieve clients profiled today in the Guardian include:

Ramazan Khan, from Pakistan, whose fourteen year old grandson Sadaullah lost both of his legs in a drone strike in September 2009. Mr Khan has told Reprieve that, in the years after the strike, the cost of his grandson’s medical treatment bankrupted the family. Sadaullah eventually died from his injuries.

Kareem Khan, who lost his son and brother on New Years’ Eve 2009. Mr Khan has been involved in litigation in Pakistan for seven years to find out why his family was targeted. He has also brought murder charges against the CIA station chief who ordered the strike, which resulted in a Pakistani investigation being opened in 2015. To date, no one has been arrested.

Ahmed Jan, one of a few people who survived a March 2011 drone strike on a tribal Jirga (community meeting) in Pakistan, which killed over 40 tribal elders. Five months later, it was reported that the strike was made in “retaliation” for Pakistan’s refusal to release a CIA contractor who had shot two people in a Lahore market.

The Rehman family, including Nabila and her brother Zubair, who were 9 and 13 when their grandmother was killed in a strike in October 2012. In 2013, the family travelled to the US from northwest Pakistan to speak to members of Congress and others. However, the Obama Administration declined to meet with them, or to comment on their cases.

Mohammad Al Qawli, whose brother Ali, a teacher, was killed in January 2013 in Yemen. Mohammad now cares for Ali’s family on top of his own. In 2013 Mohammad established the Yemeni National Organization of Drone Victims, which seeks answers and provides support to the victims of US drone strikes.

Faisal bin Ali Jaber, from Yemen, whose brother-in-law Salem – an anti-Al-Qaeda imam – and nephew Waleed – a policeman – were killed by a US strike in 2012. Following the strike, Faisal was offered US$100,000 in cash by Yemeni officials, who said it was from the US government. However, the Obama Administration has refused to comment publicly on the case, arguing in a US court that a legal action by Faisal, which asks for a public apology, should be thrown out. Yesterday, Faisal filed a Freedom of Information lawsuit in DC, demanding information from the US about the strike.

The interviews come a week after new evidence emerged of UK involvement in the US drone programme. A report by Reprieve detailed the UK’s role in the setting up of secret US ‘kill lists’ since 2001, while an investigation by Vice News revealed that UK military and intelligence personnel are closely involved in the targeting of strikes in Yemen.

Last year, research by Reprieve found that in attempts to target 41 named individuals, US strikes killed 1,147 unknown men, women and children – and often left the original target still alive.

Commenting, Jennifer Gibson, staff attorney at Reprieve, said: “As the White House prepares to release its first ever estimate of the civilian toll of the US drone program, it’s crucial that we come to grips with the true extent of the collateral damage these strikes have caused. A bean-counting exercise does not tell us this. Only ensuring the voices of the victims are heard can.

“If the Obama Administration is serious about shedding light on this secret program, then the President must take down the wall of silence that has met its victims. The US must put names to the numbers, and give Pakistani and Yemeni victims the same measure of respect he accorded an American and Italian – an apology. Only then can we start to come to grips with the true cost of these covert killings.”
