Syed Ali Geelani, chairman of Hurriyat and other members of the resistance leadership  along with Heads of 13 key trade organizations declined to meet an all-party delegation, visiting the troubled Kashmir Valley today, Sunday 4th September.

The killing of Burhan Wani, a commander of Kashmir-based Hizbul Mujahideen on 8th July 2016 during a gun battle with government forces sparked a renewed call for freedom from India with ongoing demonstrations and marches. Wani is now viewed as a martyr with his death only increasing unrest throughout the region. As the BBC reported, “Wani, 22, is largely credited with reviving and legitimising the image of militancy in Muslim-majority Indian-administered Kashmir.” India has responded to the unrest with curfews, detentions, tear gas, beatings, bullets and pellet guns leading to 70 deaths and nearly 10,000 injuries including women and children.

Speaking of the All Party visit today, NDTV reported,

“the most hostile reception was received by Left leaders Sitaram Yechury and D Raja and Sharad Yadav – who had gone to meet hardline separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who is under house arrest. As the three delegates reached his house at Srinagar’s Hyderpora, they were greeted by anti-India slogans from Geelani’s supporters and were denied entry.”

Geelani said,

“in politics India has deployed deceit, double talk, themselves and through their quislings, continuously for the past 70 years. These deceitful methods of crisis management through Parliamentary Delegations and Track-II only prolong the sufferings of the people.”

Joint Press Statement of Hurriyat

Reacting to the PDP President Mehbooa Mufti’s invitation for meeting the Indian Parliamentary delegation, resistance leadership Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik in a joint statement has said that Nobody is more aware than Mehbooba Ji that the Indian war machine is on a spree to kill, maim and disfigure an entire population into complete submission for demanding freedom from Indian occupation which is the birthright of all human beings. Unfortunately Indian occupation forces in J&K have a fig-leaf available in the shape of a quisling government fronted by her with the only brief to provide a civilian mask to a brutal military occupation. Despite killings and injuries of war-proportions she continues to perform shamelessly this role of obfuscation.

They further said that given this situation it is not surprising that even now her dominant concern, as expressed in her letter, is to “lend credence and credibility“ to the Indian Parliamentary Delegation visiting Kashmir avowedly to ascertain wishes of the people. Everyone knows that people have been shouting AZADI on the roads for those who want to listen and writing on walls and placards for those who can see. The dirty ambitions of the collaborators and their masters in Delhi have turned them deaf and blind.

While commenting on Mehbooba Ji’s outburst a few days, the resistance leadership said that the sickness of her mind touched a new low when she recently tried to justify the Indian brutalities by saying that Kashmiri boys don’t go out to the camps with milk and toffees; that seemed to even embarrass her Indian boss sitting beside. They should not have forgotten that a terrorised population cannot greet an occupation army but with stones.

Resistance leaders Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik said that Indian engagement with the people of Jammu and Kashmir has been only through state violence perpetrated through these armed forces that have killed close to a lakh and brutalised all of the population. In politics India has deployed deceit, double talk, themselves and through their quislings, continuously for the past 70 years. These deceitful methods of crisis management through Parliamentary Delegations and Track-II only prolong the sufferings of the people and can`t take the place of a genuine transparent agenda-based dialogue to address the core issue of the Peoples` right to self-determination in Jammu and Kashmir. That has been our consistent stand and has been spelled out recently as well in our letters to various international and global fora.

They once again clarified that one fails to understand what hope to attach with a delegation which has neither spelled out its mandate for any engagement on a clear agenda. People know that it is the same parliament which has given unfettered powers to their occupying force to use violence to hold Jammu and Kashmir forcibly with India against all norms of civilised behaviour and international law resulting in death, destruction, collective punishments and humiliation.

TTP JA branch of the Pakistan Taliban claimed the attack and are fighting to implement shariah law in Pakistan. Abbas Ahmad, a writer/researcher with an interest in militant Islam, highlighted that “in statement the organization (TTP JA) urges Pakistan citizens to distance themselves from courts, army and police. Ahmad added, they cited the Quran, “not to sit with them unless they back off of what they are doing” which he said appeared in the last sentence of the issued statement.

On Thursday ISPR had held a press briefing keen to point out the success of the Operation Zarb-e-Azab launched in 2014 to eliminate militants from the Tribal Areas of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan.  According to Dawn media, “3,500 terrorists had been eliminated during the course of Operation Zarb-i-Azb, while 2,272 soldiers were and 537 personnel had embraced martyrdom, including 18 officers, 35 junior commissioned officers and 484 soldiers.” The attack was a clear reminder that TTP JSA are still active with the capabilities to carry out major attacks.

In August, TTP JA leader Omar Khalid Khorasani made the following comment as part of a press release,

“Pakistan was founded for islam. But establishment has snatched this right away from us. So we have no option left other than fighting. We want our rights, We want to defend our brothers and every law in this world gives us that right. Likewise in FATA and Malakand area, we have legal right to impose the law of our own choice, but this right of ours has been taken away from us.”

Islamic State release statement on the death of Senior Commander Abu Mohammad al-Adnani

CrIxr6lXEAAoRCQ

IS Arabic language magazine an-Naba #45 published today an exclusive picture of Abu Muhammad al-Adnani (via Coffee and News)

Amaq media outlet affiliated with Islamic State has confirmed the death of Abu Mohamed al-Adnani (39) second most senior leader of Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) after Caliph, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. Adnani was targeted by a US air strike on Tuesday in the town of  al-Bab, Aleppo province, Syria. He was killed “while surveying military operations in Halab Wilayah.”

IS statement,

CrIu0aKXEAAqU_t

Back in 2000, Adnani (whose real name was Taha Sobhi Falaha) gave allegiance to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, al-Qaeda in Iraq leader who had earlier fought in Afghanistan where he met Osama bin Laden.

Sheikh Abu Turki bin Mubarek al-Benali who wrote a biography of Adnani stated,

“He was summoned by the Nusayri state security agency repeatedly from early on in his youth and was interrogated. He was arrested three times by the Nusayris on the pretext of preaching jihad, once in Abu-Kamal on his way into Iraq for the first time. He was jailed for months and was let go for refusing to disclose information, despite the injuries sustained due to torture.

He was imprisoned by the Americans twice, and was once jailed for nearly six years. He was put in a tent with Zarqawi and other prominent individuals who knew the first line of fighters with Zarqawi, rahimu’Allah.”

See following link for detailed background on Adnani,

“A Biography of IS Spokesman Abu Muhammad al-Adnani as-Shami by Sheikh Abu Turi bin Mubarak al-Benali”

https://activist1.wordpress.com/2015/07/28/a-biography-of-is-spokesman-abu-muhammad-al-adnani-as-shami/

Adnani relocated to Syria and went on to become spokesperson for Islamic State and allegedly head of the Emni, the Secret Service of IS which plotted external terror attacks. The US put a 5 million dollar bounty on his head. Journalist Rukmini Callimachi who interviewed German member of ISIS Harry Sarfo, stated,

“It’s Harry who spelled it out for me: Adnani, he said, is head of the Emni, ISIS’ secret service. He is also the head of propaganda. He described how Adnani chaired a monthly meeting where ISIS reviewed all the gory videos they had shot and decided which to promote. The propaganda goes hand-in-hand with terror plots in West. Before the Nov. 13 attack, we saw endless ISIS video threats against France.”

Adnani encouraged Muslims to carry out attacks in European countries including France. The Telegraph reported, “he urged Muslims to ‘kill a disbelieving American or European – especially the spiteful and filthy French,”’adding: ‘Smash his head with a rock, or slaughter him with a knife, or run him over with your car, or throw him down from a high place, or choke him, or poison him.’”

Peter Cook, spokesman for the Pentagon confirmed the strike on Adnani posting the following on Twitter,

“Statement on Precision Airstrike Targeting Abu Muhammad Al-Adnani”

Press Operations

Release No: NR-307-16
Aug. 30, 2016

“Today coalition forces conducted a precision strike near Al Bab, Syria, targeting Abu Muhammad Al-Adnani, one of ISIL’s most senior leaders. We are still assessing the results of the strike, but Al-Adnani’s removal from the battlefield would mark another significant blow to ISIL. Al-Adnani has served as principal architect of ISIL’s external operations and as ISIL’s chief spokesman. He has coordinated the movement of ISIL fighters, directly encouraged lone-wolf attacks on civilians and members of the military and actively recruited new ISIL members. The U.S. military will continue to prioritize and relentlessly target ISIL leaders and external plotters in order to defend our homeland, our allies and our partners, while we continue to gather momentum in destroying ISIL’s parent tumor in Iraq and Syria and combat its metastases around the world.”

Mostafa Mahamed, Director of Foreign Media Relations – JFS (Jabhat Fateh al-Sham) rebel group fighting in Syria had the following to say on the death of Adnani in a series of tweets,

“When daesh loses a tyrant, it can be nothing but good for Muslims. Yes, I am with the millions of Muslims who are glad that Adnani is dead.”

“Adnani was not just a mouthpiece for a sinister group of thugs; he was a passionate advocator of eradicating Muslims in the name of Jihad.”

“Split open their heads with a spray of bullets & extract the contents…”was Adnani’s official stance in dealing with mujahideen in Syria.”

“Remember the honorable men slaughtered in front of their children because of Adnani. Remember , Abu Muhammad Fateh Rahmoun.”

Adnani did not believe that IS exists on the cult of one or two men at the top of the leadership and predicted they would continue evolving long after current key figures perished. IS relish death and any threats to their existence are met with even greater force. Perhaps with a view to his own mortality, Adnani wrote the following words in May 2016,

Adnani said,

“Listen America; Crusaders; Jews, your armies & groups will not scare us. Your threats & campaigns will not derail us.”

“You won’t win & you’ll be defeated. Do you believe that victory is by killing one leader or more? Then it’s a false victory.”

He also stated,

“To lone-wolves in U.S. and Europe: ‘Know that targeting so-called civilians is more beloved to us, more brutal & painful to them.'”

Threat of revenge attack

There are fears retaliation attacks for Adnani’s death may be in the offing and security services across Europe will be on high alert aiming to prevent any imminent threat. As Amaq made clear in the statement released, “the blood of their (IS) leaders will only increase their steadfastness upon the path of Jihad and increase their resolve to extract revenge against the enemies and strike out against them.”

Statement Of BSO-Azad expresses concern over the Pakistani military activities going on in Balochistan

In this Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, photo, Pakistani families rest next to photographs of their relatives, who were allegedly abducted by Pakistani security forces, as they march toward Karachi, in Gadani, Pakistan. Baluch is one of roughly two dozen activists making the journey on foot from Quetta, the capital of southwest Baluchistan province, to the southern port city of Karachi to protest thousands of people who have gone missing over the years as Pakistani authorities have battled a separatist insurgency in Baluchistan. “The important sacrifices of Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti for the Baloch National freedom will always be remembered”

BSO-Azad (Baloch Students Organization)

The Central Spokesperson of Baloch Students Organization Azad on the 10th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Nawab Akbar Bugti while paying tribute to him stated that his important sacrifices are the guiding light for Baloch national freedom movement. He said that the martyrdom of Nawab Akbar Bugti gave life to the movement going on against the Pakistani occupation. By sacrificing his life Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti motivated the people of Balochistan towards playing their role in the Baloch national freedom movement.

Pakistani Intellectuals try to portray a controversial personality of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti’s by claiming he believed in federation rather than freedom but the reality is on record, that he did not leave any stone unturned in his struggle to defend the Baloch homeland.

Moreover, BSO-Azad Spokesperson while expressing his concerns over the the military operations being carried out in Balochistan stated that unarmed people of Balochistan are being targeted very aggressively by the state. Whole Balochistan, starting from Dera Bugti to Makran and to Lasbela, is not safe from the atrocities of Pakistani army. Dozens of Baloch youth are abducted from their homes everyday and there is no trace, afterwards their mutilated dead bodies are then thrown away.

The rubber stamp parties including National Party work as civil organizations of Pakistan Army and play a role in the mass killing of Baloch by guiding the forces.

After the international recognition of Baloch issue, the panicked forces have intensified their ongoing activities, in past few days forces have arrested a lot of people from their operations in different areas of Dera Bugti and those arrested have gone missing, another day 5 kidnapped baloch youth were killed in detention and their bodies were thrown away.

Moreover on 23rd of August the forces abducted Hasil S/O Jamil and Ghafoor S/O Murad in broad daylight from awaran bazaar area, the next day they handed over the dead body of Hasil to the local authorities. After forces kill innocent Baloch youths in detention they falsely declare them as resistance fighters in order to hide their crimes and to avoid the blame of killing unarmed innocent people.

The BSO-Azad Spokesperson said that the Baloch people are struggling for their natural right of freedom under the international laws, but the international organizations even then do not question Pakistan about the mass killing of Baloch People. The Spokesperson appealed to the civilized nations of the world that they should play their role for a peaceful resolution of Baloch issue.

Statement of BSO-Azad

Did anything change? (Poem for Kashmir by Mir Atif)

37417-mfwpzxevca-1467992278

Death a daily occurrence in Kashmir (Image Danish Ismail/Reuters)

Did Anything Change?
Smiles of the heaven

Have the children of conflict.

Eyes full of dreams

Had the children of conflict?

Bliss of severance

On that eventful eid

Silenced by a death foretold

Remembrance makes the heart to bleed .

Like waves of frozen Dal

Rainin’ tears to bid farewell

He was brought to rest

Where the undying dwell

Day 50 today

Feels like day one

He clings to stones

You can hold that gun

He came in the hue

of the holy shroud

And the flower of passion

Made Kashmir proud

At lidder they vow by the waters edge

Standing side by side they took this pledge

The land of saints now breeds new heroes

A lane without name today has flowers and sedge

Listen to his name

With all your heart

And hear that song

Which your ears did not

Day 50 today

Feels like day one

Do all that you want

You’re back to square one

Grief is in a hurry

And pain passes by

Vanity too busy

Left to bewail n cry

In the valley of death

Where flowers don’t mourn

They took his dreams

with pellets they torn

That child can’t see, he sure can’t scribe

You’ve blinded him and he asks instead

In a knife-like tone he hoists his voice

Is he not big enough? To honor his dead.

Day 50 today

Feels like day one

Did anything change?

Excuse that pun

Islamic Emirate: Second Quarterly Report by Department for the Prevention of Civilian Casualties

logar_mulki_talafat1

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan

Commission for Military Affairs

Department for the Prevention of Civilian Casualties

Second Quarterly Report (May, June & July) 2016

In the name of Allah, the most Gracious, the most Merciful

From the very beginning of illegitimate foreign occupation of our beloved homeland Afghanistan, the lives and properties of our civilian countrymen are once again seriously imperiled, as the Afghans are enforced into a futile war imposed by the foreign invaders and their internal supporters. The invaders have always scorned the human lives and dignity of our people having no reverence for them. They want to achieve their malicious objectives even at the cost of shedding the blood of innocent people, and the ongoing calamity and tragedy in our country is the inevitable outcome of such a conspiracy. Our civilian and defenseless countrymen are losing their lives and properties on the daily basis. Having no connection with warring sides, still their lives are not peaceful and tranquil. Their homes are raided, bombed and demolished. Their children are killed in indiscriminate attacks. They are brutally tortured and vexed. Eventually, they are suffering from extreme adversities in their everyday lives.

The Islamic Emirate has sacrificed all pleasures of life to protect the sacred creed of its people and to defend our beloved country. Its devoted members have left no stone unturned by working day and night to perpetuate the cause of Holy Jihad while suffering excruciating hardships, adversities, incarcerations and even sacrificing their own lives.

In the hierarchy of the Islamic Emirate, the Department for the Prevention of Civilian Casualties has been established by its leadership to protect the lives of ordinary people. Being fully authoritative, its main obligation is to deliberate and find out all possible ways and means of safeguarding the lives and properties of our civilian people.

One of the main steps undertaken for the protection of civilian lives is that the prevailing circumstances inside the country are discussed and analyzed so that an accurate reliable figure of civilian losses and casualties is achieved. The extent, quantity and quality of these losses is assessed, and a trustworthy comprehensive report is prepared and provided to the world community, to our own people, the warring sides and to the leadership of the Islamic Emirate; so that decisive steps could be taken in the reduction of these losses and casualties; and the real perpetrators, criminals and convicts of these felonies are identified and held responsible.

For this purpose, the Department for Prevention of Civilian Casualties has prepared, for the second time, a quarterly report comprising May, June and July of 2016, which is based on verified facts, proved information and on a direct contact with civilian victims.

The Department for the Prevention of Civilian Casualties is obliged to exert its utmost effort in collecting information of such incidents and then present it to our esteemed readers with great integrity and honesty.

Unfortunately, the second quarterly report of 2016 once again expresses heavy civilian losses and casualties in fighting and confrontations; i.e. we have been the witness of several civilian losses and casualties.

During this time, our department has registered 188 civilian incidents on the basis of verified information, in which, overall 1033 civilians were martyred and injured. Among them, 401 defenseless countrymen have lost their lives and 632 others were injured.

The foreign American invaders, their mercenary army, police force and the notorious Arbaki militiamen are responsible for 124 of the above mentioned incidents; while 26 of these incidents have occurred during Mujahidin attacks or operations which is regretful for us.

On the other side, 38 additional incidents have been registered due to ‘Daish’ (i.e. ISIL), unidentified armed-men and other internal skirmishes.

In the light of above facts and figures, American invaders, the mercenary army, police and unrestrained Arbaki militiamen of stooge setup in Kabul is responsible for 66% of these incidents; Mujahidin are involved in 14% of such incidents, while the remaining 24% incidents were caused by ‘Daish’, unidentified armed-men and internal confrontations.

Among the deceased people, 286 were men, 50 were women and the remaining 65 were children.

Among the injured people, 469 were men, 29 were women and the remaining 114 were children.

According to the evaluation and investigation of the Department for Prevention of Civilian Casualties of the Islamic Emirate, among the total 401 civilians killed, 236 persons were martyred by the American invaders and the amateurish soldiers, policemen and notorious Arbaki militiamen of stooge Kabul regime.

115 of our oppressed countrymen lost their lives in the futile battles of ‘Daish’ fighters, unidentified gunmen and their own internal skirmishes, while 50 more civilians were killed due to the negligence in Mujahidin attacks.

The above digits show that 59% of civilian people were martyred by American invaders, the mercenary army, police force and Arbaki militiamen of the puppet regime of Kabul. ‘Daish’ and unidentified armed groups are accountable for 29% of these casualties, while Mujahidin are responsible for the remaining 12% loses.

In the overall 632 injured persons, 266 were wounded by American invaders and their affiliated stooge soldiers, policemen and Arbakis; 311 persons were injured by ‘Daish’, unknown armed-men and internal fighting; while 55 persons were wounded due to Mujahidin’s negligence.

The above figures of wounded civilians reveal that American invaders and their affiliates are responsible for 42% cases; ‘Daish’, unknown armed groups and internal fighting and feuds bear 49.30% responsibility; while 8.70% people were injured by Mujahidin.

Note: In the following lines, those incidents are elaborated in which, a mass civilian killing has taken place.

  1. Maidan Wardak:

On Friday 13th May 2016, ordinary civilians became the target of indiscriminate mortar shelling of amateurish soldiers of Kabul regime in ‘Deh Hayat’ area of ‘Narkh’ district of Maidan Wardak province, in which, three children were martyred and 4 others were injured.

Martyred:

By the grace of Almighty Allah, cation level of Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate has been significantly increased during recent military operations. The best and latest proofs at hand are the two most recent attacks inside Kabul; one of them in ‘Qasaba’ area of Kabul, in which, a police convoy was targeted; and the other one carried out on a foreign guest house inside Kabul. Though quite heavy explosives were used in these two attacks, resulting in heavy casualties and losses for both the foreign invaders and their internal mercenaries, but the amount of civilian losses was next to cypher as no ordinary people were harmed or injured in these two huge assaults.

The department for the prevention of civilian casualties and losses, owing to its religious and national obligations, calls upon all warring sides to take their utmost precautionary measures regarding the safety and security of ordinary civilian lives during fighting. The lives of innocent people should be paid due attention and reverence; and no Islamic and human values should be neglected and violated in this regard.

Stand with Kashmir: Solidarity event to be held today 28th August 1-4pm in Trafalgar Square London

(The event is organized by Sanaah Sultan and is on Facebook and Twitter)

#StandWithKashmir on Sunday in Trafalgar Square.
WEAR BLACK, bring your friends and family.
Remind Kashmir and its people that they have not been forgotten.
Remind us, that we are not alone in this facing these atrocities.

Since the 8th of July the Indian State has enforced an ongoing siege upon the population of Kashmir. Countless war crimes are occurring as we speak and the death count is rising.

Kashmir, which is already the world’s most militarised zone is facing increasing military presence.
Over 76 people have been killed.
Over 100 people have lost their sight due to the unlawful use of pellets.
Over 6000 people have been injured.
All mobile and internet communication is barred by the State.
Ambulances and Ambulance drivers have been attacked.
There are reports of the use of a new skin burning chemical being unleashed upon a civilian population.

These are just a few examples of the atrocities taking place on the ground. The recent escalation does not call for the implementation of Human Rights but demands that we call these crimes what they are. War crimes. The simple answer is to grant Kashmiris the freedom to chose their own fate, one which is free from such tyranny and oppression.

Islamic Emirate: Response to US airstrike on Taliban prison in Nad Ali Zarpul area Helmandprovince

تسلیم-شوي-عسکر

The Despondency of Prisoners of War

By Dr Hameedullah Zabuli

The Mujahideen have set up various prisons for captured regime soldiers in areas under our control. One of such prisons was located in Nad Ali’s Zarpul area in Helmand province. This prison housed some of the soldiers imprisoned in the recent campaign. It is the Islamic Emirate’s policy that those soldiers and police members captured in our offensives – provided that they are not accused of crimes against the people or other war crimes including torture, extrajudicial killings etc – are kept imprisoned for a short period of time and then under their family’s guarantee and assurances that they will not return to the battlefield, released back to their families. We consider this benign policy as a just measure to ease the pain of our people.

It has been this just and compassionate policy that has facilitated the return of thousands of erstwhile serving troops from the battlefield to their homes. A few days ago the Mujahideen released dozens of soldiers under these guidelines in Konduz. Similar actions have taken place elsewhere in the past as well.

Two days ago the Islamic Emirate had also planned this conditional bailment for the prisoners in Helmand. The families of the prisoners had been summoned to vouch that these prisoners – once released – will not join the regime in their fight against the people. The summoned families had expressed willingness to accept this condition. This prisoner release deal was in the final stages of implementation when American planes bombed the prison facility, killing 22 prisoners and wounding many more. Three of the Emirate’s prison guards were also martyred in this bombing.

On the 28 of June this year, the American committed a similar crime in Konduz, bombing a Taliban prison facility resulting in the death of 14 prisoners. The regime authorities adopted a muted response while the American forces simply stated that they will investigate the matter further.

Now it is comprehendible that the Americans would wantonly and indiscriminately kill Afghans including their allied POWs. It is also understandable that their ex-communist and previously exiled allies would turn a blind eye to such killings since both parties attach no value to Afghan lives. The Americans would gladly see Afghans embroil in an endless civil war throat-slitting. Their ex-communist allies similarly have no compassion for their people – including their own soldiers – because they sold their fatherland many decades ago and consequently lived exiled lives in the west until the American invasion gave them an opportunity to return back to Afghanistan and once again profit from the war economy. They will happily see Afghanistan bleed so long as their coffers are filled with American dollars.

It is interesting to note that this incident failed to provoke a government response and received virtually no coverage in the media. The young men fighting on the regime’s side should contemplate deeply this fact. They are putting their lives on the line for a regime that cares naught for them and their families. They are being marched to the slaughterhouse where everyone is taking turns butchering them.

While this is not the place for a long-winded discussion on the legality of such operations it is worth noting the facilities containing prisoners of wars are designated as protected places under international humanitarian law and belligerents are required to abstain from actions that put the lives of these prisoners in danger.

The Islamic Emirate ensures to the best of their means to protect and accommodate these prisoners and release them back to their families at the earliest convenience. Yet the foreign invaders regularly raid these prisons to score cheap political points. Their reckless action in this regard not only endangers the lives of these prisoners but also makes it difficult to arrange conditions for their earliest release.

This new American tactic of deliberately bombing prison facilities and killing the interned is clearly against the American rules of engagement as well as the Geneva Convention on the Treatment of Prisoners. We call on the United Nations to fully investigate these incidents and declare the legal implications of such actions under international humanitarian law. The UN and its local branch – UNAMA – should not yield to political conveniences but rather fulfill their duties under international law and thoroughly investigate these reckless actions against prisoner facilities.
