Islamic Emirate: The hidden war

flage-only

Post via Islamic Emirate

If we take a look at the history of the noble religion of Islam, it is unprecedented and unmatchable. The history of the noble religion of Islam is so rich that other religions of the world throughout the ages are nothing compared to it. The youth of the Muslim Ummah have presented such great deeds of which every Muslim will feel proud until the judgment day. The Almighty Allah has bestowed the Afghan Muslims with great zeal for sacrifice and dedication towards the cause of Islam. Afghans have won every battle fought for Islam with exemplary performance and history is a witness to it. Everyone testifies and all historians accept the courage of the Afghans and their passion for the Nobel religion of Islam.
It may be no exaggeration to say that for the sake of the noble religion of Islam experiencing hardships, migrating and sacrificing wealth, land, family, wives, children, and all belongings has become a trait and distinguishing quality of the brave Afghan Nation. The brave Afghan Nation has always defeated the enemies of Islam and Muslims and has never back down against any invader, setting many examples throughout history. The brave Afghan Nation has always faced the overwhelming odds and fought bravely every battle for the honor of the Noble religion of Islam and the Muslim people of Afghanistan.
The ongoing invasion by the American invaders is into its second decade. The enemy is on the run in the battlefield with huge losses inflicted by the Mujahidin upon the invaders especially the American forces. As the enemy has understood its defeat on the battleground it has over the past years launched a hidden ideological war against the Muslims of Afghanistan.
Looking at the current ongoing situation in Afghanistan, the invaders are covertly sponsoring their stooges and slaves to harm the Islamic identity and ideology of the brave Afghan Nation. The aim of the invaders in this battle is to give rise to ethnic violence and create divisions among the Afghans. The media – controlled by the regime and its supporters – is also playing its role in this war.
Recently there has been a sharp up tick in demonstrations by various privately funded organizations that are covertly supported by Americans with the aim of sparking ethnic tensions. The invaders are now trying to divide the nation on the basis of language and ethnicity. The puppet regime is in shambles and is much weaker than before. The regime has lost many districts and it is about to lose many city centers. This is a diversion strategy by the invaders to counter the success of the Mujahidin on the battleground.
America is behind all the ethnic tensions in Afghanistan. It is supporting groups that are working for American agendas. In the long term, America wants to geographically divide Afghanistan and create ethnic internal disputes.
The current regime and its failure has greatly contributed towards the imbalance and rising tensions. The only binding force for the Afghan nation is The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Looking at the historical perspective it was the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan which saved countless Afghan lives when it was formed after the bloody civil war amongst the fighting factions in the 90’s.
Over 100,000 people died during the civil war fought largely along ethnic lines due to the support of America to their sponsored groups following the withdrawal of Soviet forces from Afghanistan in 1989 .
The strategy of America and the groups sponsored by America to provoke ethnic tensions will fail as they did in the past. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has solidified the Islamic identity of the Afghans which is very important step towards countering this move. If we look at the current situation, the conclusion widely acceptable to many inside and outside Afghanistan is that the western style of governance and so called democracy has failed in Afghanistan. Americans now seeks to repeat the Iraq model in Afghanistan but the people are aware of her malicious intentions.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is the only solution to the American hegemony not only in Afghanistan but in the entire region. The Islamic value of equality are deeply rooted in the structure of The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. The current strategy and policy of America is based upon divide and rule. America wants to divide the Afghans into small ethnic groups because it will make it impossible for Afghans to come together and fight against the regime sponsored by the invaders.
The Afghan Nation should follow the teachings of Islam in this matter and not listen to the propaganda of the enemies of Islam and our country.

Uri army base attack increases tensions between India and Pakistan following 2 months of military clampdown in Kashmir

(Image via NDTV)

An attack on an army base, 12 Brigade headquarters at Uri in Indian Occupied Kashmir early on Sunday morning left 17 soldiers and 4 militants dead. The site is used to station soldiers following their tour of duty in the disputed Himalayan region and had more soldiers on the base than usual at the time of the incident.

Dawn media reported,

“The (suspected) ‘militants’ first attacked a frontline base close to the Line of Control (LoC) before moving onto the brigade headquarters at Uri, army spokesman Colonel S.D. Goswami said.

They were armed with grenades and automatic rifles, an army official said on condition of anonymity.”

Around a dozen soldiers died as incendiary ammunition set fire to tents where they slept, 4 of the attackers were killed following a gun battle at the scene. At least 35 soldiers suffered injuries some critical and were transferred to a hospital in Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, located around 122 kms from Uri. The capital Future Post magazine quoted an army officer who said,

“The soldiers were sleeping in tents for paucity of space, 6 Bihar was to replace 10 Dogra and because of the paucity of space, the soldiers were sleeping in a tent as there was not enough space to accommodate the soldiers. The terrorists opened indiscriminate fire on the sleeping Jawans and threw grenades towards the tents that caught fire.”

Prime Minister of India, Narandra Modi who was due to travel to Uri to take stock of the situation stated, “we strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Uri. I assure the nation that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished. We salute all those martyred in Uri. Their service to the nation will always be remembered. My thoughts are with the bereaved families.”

Rajnath Singh, the Indian home minister was quick to accuse Pakistan of involvement in the attack, the Guardian reported Singh stating,

“I am deeply disappointed with Pakistan’s continued and direct support to terrorism and terrorist groups,” he said. “There are definitive and conclusive indictions that the perpetrators of [the] Uri attack were highly trained, heavily armed and specially equipped. Pakistan is a terrorist state and it should be identified and isolate as such.”

Singh also tweeted, “keeping the situation of Jammu and Kashmir in mind and in the wake of the terror attack in Uri, I have postponed my visits to Russia and the USA.”

According to the Times of India, a map was retrieved following the assault, showing a mission plan which was annotated in Pashto see following article,

“Uri attack: Tell-all map in Pashto exposes plotters”

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Uri-attack-Tell-all-map-in-Pashto-exposes-plotters/articleshow/54398406.cms

Pakistan denied any involvement in the attack. NDTV reported,

“Pakistan army spokesman Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa said that following the attack Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of the two countries discussed the situation along the Line of Control via the hotline.

‘Refuting the unfounded and premature Indian allegation, Pakistani DGMO asked his counterpart to share any actionable intelligence,’ Radio Pakistan reported citing a release by the Inter-Services Public Relations – the public relations department of Pakistan’s spy agency ISI.”

Although to date there have been no claims of responsibility, one militant group based in Pakistan has warned of its capabilities to carry out attacks in India. Following a claim of responsibility for the Wagah border attack in November 2014, Ehsanullah Ehsan, spokesman for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (TTP JA) stated, “this is message for the governments of both sides of the border, if we can attack on one side, we can also attack on other side (India).”

See following link,

“Pakistan Taliban: TTP JA claim responsibility for Wagah attack and warn of more to come”

https://activist1.wordpress.com/2014/11/02/pakistan-taliban-ttp-ja-claim-responsibility-for-wagah-attack-and-warn-of-more-to-come/

Times of India suggests attackers could be linked to Jaish-e-Muhammad alleging, “all four attackers were killed and identified by the Army as being part of the Jaish-e-Muhammed’s Afzal Guru squad.”

There is also the possibility of an attack from a militant group based within Kashmir in retaliation for the the killing of Burhan Wani, Commander of Hizbul Mujahideen by the Indian military on the 8th July 2016.

In Pakistan the following was reported by the Quint,

“The News International said that Pakistani security officials were confident that the Uri attack was a ‘Pathankot-like stage drama (referring to an earlier attack in India) to trumpet its terrorism mantra against Pakistan and counter Islamabad’s diplomatic moves to expose Indian atrocities in Kashmir at a time when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is all set to expose New Delhi at the UN General Assembly session’”.

Whoever is responsible, Sunday’s attack is being seen as one of the worst incidences of violence against the Indian military in the last 2 decades. An earlier attack on a base in Uri was carried out in December 2014 and led to the deaths of 3 suspected militants and 9 members of security forces see following link,

“Deadly gun fight erupts in Kashmir”

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-30341215

The Tribune (India) highlighted that, “the border districts of Pathankot and Amritsar were put on alert today after the Uri terror attack” and that “additional security measures were being taken at the Attari-Wagah joint checkpost.”

The strike on Uri follows over 2 months of unrest in the Kashmir region following Wani’s death. Since then there have been dozens of protests with calls for Aazdi (freedom) from India and for a referendum so that Kashmiris can determine their own future. Demonstrations have been met with curfews and clampdowns with allegations of repeated human rights abuses from military and police with civilians facing teargas, detentions, bullets and pellet guns, many now blinded.

Over 80 people have been killed with thousands of injuries reported. Even women, children and the mentally challenged have not escaped attack. Journalists have faced censorship with press offices closed down and an internet ban. Khurran Parvez a human rights activist with Jammu Kashmir Coalition Civil Society (JKCCS) has recently been arrested and faces what some feel are trumped up charges of inciting protests and stone pelting.

Referring to the Uri assault, Allari Naresh tweeted,

17 martyrs. Each was somebody’s everybody. My heart goes out to their families. Is it really that difficult for peace to prevail?

To which @IbtisamChdhry responded,

1 Lac Martyrs, 10,000 Rapes, 600+ Blind, 2K + Arrested, 13K Injured Each Was Somebody’s Everybody

Kashmir: APDP releases statement condemning “unlawful detention and arrest” of Khurram Parvez

khurram-parvaiz

Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons (APDP) strongly condemns the unlawful detention and arrest of Human Rights defender Khurram Parvez. Khurram was to travel to Geneva to attend the 33rd session of the UN Human Rights Council to brief them on the human rights atrocities committed by the Indian State in Jammu and Kashmir.

Parveena Ahangar Chairperson of the APDP said that this illustrates the strident and manipulative Indian state policy by which they continue to deny our truth and impose their lies. Not only do they commit atrocities but they also want to hide them from the International community.

We demand that Khurram Parvez be immediately released.
We also demand that the people of Kashmir should be allowed to protest and express their demands for justice and self-determination without fear of reprisal or intimidation. Thousands of political prisoners who are being harassed and have been slapped with the draconian PSA are released and the draconian PSA be withdrawn.

Parveena Ahangar expressed her deep anguish at the current spate of violence and brutality unleashed on the people of Kashmir. In the last 70 days the Indian forces have killed 85 people, injured and maimed thousands, more than 500 (mostly teenagers and children) have suffered severe and permanent eye damage caused by the “ non lethal” pellet guns. “We at APDP understand the pain and grief of the affected families their loss is irreparable”, she said.

APDP salutes the people of Kashmir who are showing immense courage and resilience as they continue their valiant resistance against the gigantic State machinery. The entire population is under siege. We are being intimated and harassed as curfew is being enforced and all communication channels blocked. Hospitals are attacked and ambulance drivers beaten. Our journalists and photographers are being attacked. Armed forces are forcibly entering our homes, humiliating us, beating us brutally and targeting our assets. On the most auspicious occasion of Eid ul Azha we were forced to stay indoors and could not even participate in congregational prayers.

APDP fervently appeals to the International and the Indian Civil Society and Human rights community to respond to this brutality, which has been continuing for decades now and put pressure on the Indian State to allow the ONHCR fact-finding mission to visit Kashmir and assess the current situation.

As we continue to face state repression and the impossibility of justice; it becomes imperative that an international mechanism be set up to investigate human rights violations which include enforced disappearances, extra judicial killings, firing on unarmed protesters, torture, sexual violence, and unknown and mass graves.

Parveena Ahangar

Kashmir, JKCCS statement: Legal proceedings for Khurram Parvez release begin… Defender accused of inciting stone pelting and protests

11889423_10153856455583352_8102331914130124532_n

Khurram Parvez (Image FaceBook)

17 September 2016

Jammu Kashmir Coalition Civil Society (JKCCS) and members of Bar Association today initiated legal proceedings for the immediate release of Khurram Parvez who has been unlawfully detained from 12:30 AM of 16 September 2016. Just last night he was taken to Kupwara sub-jail, 100 kilometres away.

The order for police detention for ten days, until 26 September, issued by a Naib-Tehsildar in Srinagar, was challenged before the Sessions Court for having been passed in violation of the procedure and with complete disregard for Khurram Parvez’s rights. He was not allowed access to legal counsel and he was in fact not even produced before the Naib Tehsildar to be able to submit a bond for his release. The Sessions Court heard part arguments today and the orders will be delivered on 19 September.

JKCCS also submitted applications to the Tehsildar and the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Lone for Khurram Parvez to be immediately produced and released as the detention order was passed in violation of the legal procedure. The security threat faced by the shifting of Khurram Parvez to Kupwara was also submitted. The Tehsildar revised the detention order and Khurram Parvez is now to be produced on 21 September. The Deputy Commissioner has forwarded the application to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Srinagar for a report.

The fundamental basis of challenge of unlawful detention of Khurram Parvez remains the abuse of law to punish a human rights activist for consistent and responsible human rights work to highlight the widespread and systematic rights violations by the Indian State in Jammu and Kashmir. This is clearly brought out by the police report that formed the basis of the detention order. In this report, it is alleged that on 15 September 2016, Khurram Parvez stood outside a mosque near his house in Sonawar, Srinagar and incited people to pelt stones and march towards an open ground [Tourist Reception Centre, Srinagar]. Two police personnel are said to have witnessed this. These charges, based on police testimony and not independent witnesses, are a mechanical and facile attempt to justify Khurram Parvez’s detention. They reflect a complete disregard for the law and judiciary as they presume that there will be no legal scrutiny.

This disregard for the rule of law has accounted for 80+ killings and 11, 000+ injured over 71 days of continuous curfew in Jammu and Kashmir with absolute impunity for the armed forces. The struggle for justice for Khurram Parvez is a part of the larger struggle for rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

President, JKCCS

Kashmir: JKCCS statement on unlawful arrest, detention of Khurram Parvez

ngzrrezy_400x400

URGENT ATTENTION

UNLAWFUL ARREST AND DETENTION OF KHURRAM PARVEZ

16 September 2016

Noted human rights defender, Khurram Parvez, was arrested and detained at around 12:30 am today in Srinagar, Indian-administered Kashmir. He has been detained, without formal arrest or notifications, and in violation of his rights to information, and legal counsel. He has not been provided with any written document, court order or the reasons for his detention. His arrest today follows his detention on 14 September at the New Delhi international airport for approximately two hours. Following which, he was barred from travelling to Geneva, Switzerland. Khurram Parvez is the Programme Coordinator of JKCCS and its spokesperson, and Chairperson of the Asian Federation Against Involuntary Disappearances, a collective of 13 non-governmental organizations from ten Asian countries that campaign on the issue of enforced disappearances. Khurram Parvez was scheduled to attend the 33rd UN Human Rights Council Session in Geneva to brief UN bodies, including the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and foreign governments on the atrocities committed by Indian state forces in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly over the last two months. Khurram Parvez is presently detained at the Kothi Bagh Police Station in Srinagar.

The unlawful detention of Khurram Parvez is a violation of internationally recognized and non-derogable civil and political rights, and India’s own constitutional guarantees. It is a clear indication of reprisal, an attempt to intimidate and restrain Khurram Parvez and his human rights work. In doing so, it seeks to isolate him and silence the critical concerns of Kashmir from being heard by the international community. Unlawful arrests have been consistently used by the Indian state in Jammu and Kashmir to repress all space for dissent. Tellingly, the action on Khurram Parvez closely follows India’s rejection of the UN High Commissioner’s request for access to Jammu and Kashmir for a UN fact-finding mission.

The unlawful arrest and detention of Khurram Parvez, and denial of his right to lawyers, represents a real and imminent security threat that requires urgent attention and action. An urgent appeal has been sent by JKCCS to the President of the UN Human Rights Council, UN High Commissioner, and Special Procedures of the UN Human Rights Counsel, including the Special Rapporteur on Human Rights Defenders and the Working Group on Arbitrary Detention.

The unlawful arrest and detention of Khurram Parvez is a threat to the principles that Khurram Parvez so courageously represents through his long-standing human rights work in Indian-administered Kashmir: of truth, justice, equality and fundamental rights and freedoms. Khurram Parvez must be released immediately and his rights and freedoms restored.

Parvez Imroz, Advocate
President, JKCCS

UPDATE

UPDATE From Jammu Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society : Khurram Parvez was shifted to Kupwara sub-jail from Kothi Bagh police station, Srinagar at 11:45 pm tonight. He has been ordered to ten days remand and is to be produced before a court on 26th September.

Drone killing: cash is no substitute for genuine transparency (Reprieve)

chxab2qwiaa6a9v

Lo Porto alleged to have reverted  to Islam 7 months before his “martyrdom” by US signature drone strike (Al Qaeda)

In response to reports that the Obama Administration has agreed to pay €1m to the family of an Italian aid worker who was killed in a US drone strike in 2015, Jennifer Gibson, Reprieve staff attorney, said:

“The Lo Porto family’s terrible ordeal shows that the secret drone program is nothing like as accurate as the US Government claims.  Yet there are many more civilian victims who have yet to receive a public apology – notably Faisal bin ali Jaber, who lost two innocent relatives to a drone strike in Yemen.

“Cash payouts are no substitute for genuine transparency.   Why won’t the US Government come clean and apologize to all the civilians, including non-Westerners, wrongly killed by the misguided drone program?”

Giovanni Lo Porto, 37, was being held hostage by al-Qaida at the time of his death. Last year, President Obama, acknowledged that Lo Porto and an American named Warren Weinstein, 73, had accidentally been killed in a secret counter-terrorism mission.

In April 2015, President Obama publicly apologized for the drone killing of Giovanni Lo Porto – and announced an independent inquiry into their killings.

Faisal bin ali Jaber, a Yemeni environmental engineer whose innocent family members were killed in a US strike, has not yet had an acknowledgement of their deaths.

Faisal’s brother-in-law Salem and his nephew Waleed died in an August 2012 strike in their village. Salem was an anti-al Qaeda imam who is survived by a widow and seven young children; Waleed was a 26 year-old police officer with a wife and infant child.

Leaked intelligence indicates that U.S. officials knew they had killed civilians shortly after the strike on Mr Jaber’s family. In July 2014, the family was offered a plastic bag containing $100,000 in sequentially-marked US dollar bills at a meeting with the Yemeni National Security Bureau (NSB). The NSB official who had requested the meeting told a family representative that the money came from the US and that he had been asked to pass it along.

In November 2013, Faisal had traveled to Washington D.C. and discussed the strike with Senators and White House officials. Many offered personal regrets, but the US government has refused to publicly acknowledge or apologize for the attack.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (TTP JA) claimed responsibility for bombing a mosque in Tehsil Anhar Mohmand Agency during Friday prayers. The attacker detonated explosives which killed 24 people and left 31 injured.

DAWN media reported,

“The bombing took place in the village of Butmaina in the Mohmand tribal district bordering Afghanistan, where the army has been fighting against Taliban militants.

Akbar said that the bomber came in as Friday prayers were in progress and blew himself up in the main hall. A curfew was later imposed in the area.”

Note that in Tehsil Anhar the so called peace lashkar in 2009 had martyred our 13 mujahideen and had arrested a number of mujahideen from Swat and Bajur areas and handed them over to government. We would like to send a message to the Lashkar from Tehsil Anhar and impure army to stop opposition to Islam and Jihad and not to take animosity with Mujahadeen, otherwise as per plan of “operation Al Raad” our fight is going to spread to include Lashkars.

Kashmir: Khurram Parvez prevented from attending UN Human Rights Council Session by India (JKCCS Press Statement)

ngzrrezy_400x400

Khurram Parvez (Image via Twitter)

Jammu Kashmir Coalition Civil Society (JKCCS)

14 September 2016

Early this morning, at 1:30 a.m., Khurram Parvez, a Kashmiri human rights defender- presently the Chairperson of Asian Federation Against involuntary Disappearances (AFAD) and Program Coordinator of Jammu Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS) – was prevented from leaving Delhi at the Indira Gandhi International airport Delhi. He was leaving to visit Geneva, Switzerland to attend the ongoing UN Human Rights Council session.

Despite having invitation, valid visa and other necessary documents, Khurram Parvez was detained for one and a half hours, and subsequently told that due to orders from the Intelligence Bureau, he cannot travel to Geneva. Despite repeatedly asking for written orders that he was forbidden to leave the country, he was denied the same. And despite repeatedly asking for reasons, grounds or the basis for the decision to disallow his travel, he was not provided the same. He was only orally informed that immigration officers had instructions that he was not to be ‘arrested’, but that he should not be allowed to leave the country. It appears that Khurram Parvez is not being allowed to travel because he has been – in his capacity as the Chairperson of Asian Federation Against involuntary Disappearances (AFAD) and Program Coordinator of Jammu Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS) – highlighting violations of human rights Preventing Khurram Parvez from travelling is an attempt to criminalize the human rights campaign and documentation work which JKCCS has been involved in for the last several years.

Khurram Parvez alongwith Mary Aileen Diez Bacalso, Adv. Parvez Imroz, Adv. Kartik Murukutla and Ron de Vera were part of the AFAD & JKCCS delegation which is visiting Geneva from 14th to 24th September to attend the 33rd UN Human Rights Council session.

The Kashmiri members of the delegation, besides attending the UNHRC session are scheduled to brief UN bodies including the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights regarding the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly over the last two months. JKCCS was also to participate in India’s Universal Periodic Review [a four year review process of UN States by the Human Rights Council] to be held in April/May 2017. JKCCS has already submitted a report on the role of the Indian State in Jammu and Kashmir as a part of that review process.

This travel ban is a part of the widespread and systematic violence that the people of Jammu and Kashmir continue to face. Over the last 68 days, Fundamental Rights have been curtailed through the imposition of continuous State curfews and restrictions, 80+ civilians have been killed and 10,000+ injured through State forces action with 800+ having received eye-damage including by the use of pellet shotguns and 100+ civilians are partially or permanently blinded. Peaceful gatherings and marches, including funeral processions and public prayers, are met with violence as telecommunication services remain by and large curtailed. Political activists and protesters, including minors, are illegally detained [estimated at 1000+]. The Indian State seeks to isolate the people of Jammu and Kashmir at all costs, and disallowing human rights activists access to the UN is a part of this attempt to isolate and ensure impunity for violence and denial of human rights.

India has staked a claim to a permanent seat at the UN Security Council, and is presently a member of the UN Human Rights Council. Yet, in absolute disregard to its own laws, it denies Kashmiris basic fundamental rights. The international community, particularly the UN, must condemn the attempts of the Indian State to deny the people of Jammu and Kashmir their right to resist, including through human rights work, and urgently intervene through a UN fact-finding mission in Jammu and Kashmir.

In marked contrast to Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (Taliban) who choose the occasion of Eid -ul-Adha to free prisoners, Islamic State, Wilayat al-Khayr released a 12 minute video ‘The Making of Illusion’ on September 12th showing the horrific killing of alleged spies at what appeared to be a slaughter house in Deir ez-Zor, north-eastern Syria.

Zabihullah Mujahid spokesman for the Taliban stated, “106 prisoners pardoned and released by decree of Leadership Office of Islamic Emirate on occasion of Eid ul Adha”. Those freed were mainly Afghan security forces and govt workers according to the statement.

While those released in Afghanistan could return to their families to celebrate Eid, detainees held by Islamic State in Syria suffered a hideous fate, some having to watch their fellow prisoners having their throats cut and hung upside down from hooks, life draining away before they themselves were killed. There appears to have been careful editing as the clothes of the executioners appear remarkably white and unstained despite copious amounts of blood spraying all over the floor, gushing from the dying.

The video also showed a series of film clips featuring actors Simon Pegg and Tom Cruise in the movie “Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation”. In addition there was a look back at past IS executions and attacks including one in July in Nice, France where a truck mowed down dozens of people celebrating Bastille Day, see following link,

Shiraz Maher, Deputy Director, ICSR. Lecturer, War Studies, King’s College London tweeted,

The new video from Islamic State, executing “spies” is possibly their worst. Released on Eid al-Adha too, mocking the whole occasion.

Eid-ul-Adha is the “Feast of Sacrifice” where sheep and other animals are killed during the holiday with some of the meat distributed to the poor. On this day Muslims remember that Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) was prepared to sacrifice his son before intervention from Allah.

Pieter van Ostaeyen, Historian & Arabist, PhD candidate studying Jihad in Syria & Iraq, Foreign fighters stated,

“The Islamic State released a video of utter gore. Dozens of men in orange jumpsuits have their throats slit and are then strung up to bleed out. As if they were sacrificial animals for ‘Eid. The whole scenery was filmed in what seems to be an actual abattoir.”

Some of the worst punishments are often reserved for “spies” as opposed to other prisoners where changing allegiance after capture might secure release. Islamic State members may also have experienced torture themselves in notorious regime prisons influencing their actions.
