More Reham Khan “misinformation”? Why I am challenging “Bhabhi”

Reham-Khan1

Reham Khan chose to go public on her private life

(Image The News Teller)

When a couple get divorced it can become acrimonious and very difficult where children are involved. Many will say that is for the two persons to sort out in private, however when both choose to use the media to get their points across, then its perfectly reasonable for media to make comment. Such is the case of Reham Khan and her ex husband Dr Ijaz Rehman.

Reham decided to go public earlier this year with claims of “domestic violence” stating she had not done so before as she said,

‘I was in [the] media and I felt it would be unfair to expose the other party.’

This was strenuously denied by Dr Rehman. The Daily Mail reported that he rejected the allegations saying strongly,

‘I have never lifted hands on anyone. I have never been involved in any kind of domestic violence in any shape or form.”

http://tribune.com.pk/story/821632/reham-khan-opens-up-about-ex-husband-domestic-violence/

I deplore and condemn domestic violence having worked with survivors of abuse during my professional career. In this case as no evidence has been provided by either person to date, it is currently one person’s word against another. However on another matter the question of financial support on separation, documents have now been placed in the public domain.

Why does it matter?

Both Reham and Dr Rehman are in positions of responsibility. One as a newly appointed Ambassador for Street children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, (now the wife of opposition politician Imran Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, PTI) the other a psychiatrist. Both are dealing with vulnerable people, Reham with youngsters that have suffered neglect and abuse and Dr Rehman treating those with mental health problems.

The public issue is not so much the question of payments (or lack of them) to a former spouse after separation but who is telling the truth. Honesty is a moral issue and both the afore mentioned are in a position of trust, responsibility and accountability and have placed their disagreements for all to see in the press, including their children.

Reham was recently exposed for providing “misinformation” on where she studied and subsequently changed details to her personal website. She claimed to have a postgraduate diploma in journalism from North Lindsey College, Lincolnshire and appeared to have forgotten she actually studied at Grimsby Institute Media Centre see,

Dr Rehman with wife Dr Samavia Rehman and children in battle for the truth

(Image via Samavia Rehman, Twitter)

She also made allegations claiming her husband had failed to provide for her and the children financially. The Daily Mail quoted Dr Rehman who said,

“as for me not financially supporting my kids, how on earth could someone in my position working for the NHS get away with such a thing? After the divorce I paid 25 per cent of my £6,000 monthly salary to the Child Support Agency (CSA).

‘She continued to claim child benefit and my CSA contribution, even after leaving the country to resettle in Pakistan. I have proof that this went on for more than a year. I certainly paid maintenance for all my children right up to 2014. I would like to see the matter investigated properly by the departments concerned.'”

Once again it was one person’s word against another until an account allegedly linked to Dr Rehman began tweeting a series of documents and photos which appeared to contradict Reham’s accusations. The account was in the name of Samavia Rehman, the doctor’s wife. According to these documents, Dr Rehman had in fact provided for his children as he claimed..He had paid for private schooling, given the necessary financial support for several years doing his duty for longer than legally required as stated in the letter from the Child Support Agency.

Documents provided by Dr Rehman can be seen below,

Dr Rehman also claimed to have provided a divorce settlement stating,

“she got everything; all the antique furniture that now graces the home she shares with Imran, £ 50,000 in cash, half my pension and my children. I was left with nothing but a mountain of debts after the divorce and a £ 100,000 legal bill.”

In addition to this he tweeted he had given “jaheez” (a form of gift) to Reham to take to the home of her new husband.

Baaghi TV who earlier reported on the tweets stated,

Today, husband tweeted with documents and proofs claiming that his ex-wife Reham Khan has always been lying to Pakistani people”

PTI has a loyal supporter base and sadly some appear to have lost their ability to determine what is justified concern and instead troll critics in an aggressive way even if they argue in a reasonable manner. I did express my worries to one of their biggest supporters, well known on social media for his activities with PTI. I won’t name him as his response was private but he did admit,

“you have powerful arguements”

27IN_IMRANKHAN_1250063f

Imran Khan (PTI Chairman) married to Reham (Image, AP)

Reham herself enthused in one of her videos that she is a “good actor”, time will tell. Today she has an “essay” in Newsweek which although attempting to address gender issues and opposition she is facing, is well timed in that it provides a distraction from issues related to her questioned honesty. I left the following comment…

“you seem to have an outdated view on tackling gender issues more rooted in middle class western feminism than grassroots local activism, disappointing. Though nothing about you is quite what is seems as your ex husband points out in documents released this week and which you have so far failed to address! Not much hope for gender equality if you are afraid to answer Dr Rehman… “

No doubt I will be portrayed by Twitter trolls as a “jealous woman” (the assumption being all females wish to be the wife of Imran Khan) and the type of sexist comment thrown at women who dare to question. I have respect for Imran, for perseverance, hard work and effort and I have for several years supported PTI against drones and on human rights issues. I declined however to join the party as a member though asked numerous times by supporters preferring to maintain my independence. I did have direct e-mail contact with Imran after I was invited to be the special guest at Kings’ College, London where he was speaking. I wished to engage on a number of issues but after disappointment over lack of response to concerns raised including a letter I wrote trying to save the lives of 23 FC men (see “Links” section) and difficulty in obtaining an interview (I am not mainstream media by choice and circumstance and not part of the “elite”) I ceased contact over a year ago.

I believe Imran is well intentioned and there has never been any sign of corruption like some politicians. He has motivated youth, stood for his beliefs and done a great job raising funds for health care in honor of his late mother. He has a right to a personal life and am aware he and ex- wife Jemima did not have the easiest of times in the face of some critics and opposition. At this present time however I question his judgement.

If Reham was attached to any other party he would be raising the same questions as I about honesty and the information she has presented to the media. He talks of “meritocracy” yet his wife was appointed to the role of Ambassador for Street Children in KP seemingly in a “one horse race” where no other candidates appeared to be interviewed. It is also irrelevant whether this is a paid post or voluntary, safety issues for kids remain the same. This is a long term gripe given that I have seen many committed, hard working, well qualified grassroots workers side-lined for a “celebrity” or someone given a post through a connection. Fairness would be opening such an opportunity to ALL suitable candidates including the women of Pakistan that Reham claims to support. Let’s have the “compete with the rest, select the best” policy.

I have read her essay in Newsweek and as a person with a Masters in Gender, Culture and Development (Distinction). I support many of her concerns as have raised such issues, campaigned and worked on practical solutions myself for years for the most part without funding or celebrity help and status. (Largely as a result of the state unlawfully killing my family).

I have no need to emulate Reham. I have already worked on orphanage/ boarding school project years ago in Romania facing very challenging conditions and elsewhere and raised money for charitable projects. I am well qualified (with proof of a number of qualifications both academic and professional) and have research, photography and human rights awards. In addition my life path led me to work on several documentaries with the BBC and other international news channels and to be part of a small team as Executive Producer for an Oscar nominated documentary, “Incident in New Baghdad”.

I declined an offer from a well- known director to make a drama film of my life as I am basically a private person…. I have been asked to write chapters for academic books and offered a book contract. My work as a activist has been audio -archived and is available to academic researchers at a well -known institution as part of a social history project. I could go on further in a “written selfie” simply to make my point but will stop here. Yes Reham, I have already “been there, done that” so my perspective is one of life experience.

Where is the accountability?

If Reham wants to raise standards for children in Pakistan, why does she not campaign for proper background and police checks for all working with young persons? I raise concerns because the issue here is honesty and trust.

Is a person who “misinforms” and in the words of Baaghi TV “lies” fit to work with children and vulnerable persons? I recall when I was working in mental health, a fellow student who was a fantasizer and you never knew what to believe. She was considered a “risk” because she was working with deluded persons and was actually more delusional than many of the patients. So yes I have my concerns regarding those who are prone to exaggeration as described by Dr Rehman.

Why is a woman who failed to speak out during her marriage on alleged domestic violence now urging others to do so? Again hypocrisy and double standards… as I have written before she is a woman of contradictions. See following link,

“Celebrity Shortfall: Contradictory messages from Reham Khan on domestic child abuse”

https://activist1.wordpress.com/2015/08/19/celebrity-shortfall-contradictory-messages-from-reham-khan-on-domestic-child-abuse/

As for gender, I have written the essays and highlighted “gender justice” directly with female ministers in the UK but this is equally an issue to address through daily action and with men. As well as human rights I write on insurgency, a very male environment engaging directly with those often labelled as “misogynist” to interview and as a person in my own right. My eyes have been opened in many ways but not in the way I anticipated. I have experienced far less misogyny than in the UK workplace. Every invitation to engage on peace, polio, drones or education has been thwarted not by militants but by establishment including blocking visas and regular warnings reminding me of the torture and murder of my journalist colleague. There was a time last year for peace talks but little genuine support as alleged state “extra judicial killings” continued during this period leading to a cessation of “goodwill”. But Imran knows most of this… I updated him regularly by email as he supported “dialogue”.

To return to Reham, why is she not speaking out when evidence of documents is presented by Dr Rehman, there is a moral issue here. On principle she should acknowledge these documents. No word either from Imran… And what of the children? This must be confusing for all, for the kids of Reham and Dr Rehman caught between 2 parents and Imran’s boys and alleged daughter (no mention of this when Reham does her gender dialogues) seeing this played out in public. Reham is quick to present herself as a working woman with a good career championing gender… I wonder is she independent enough to provide for herself or does she still expect a man to pay for her? Am tired of the hypocrisy.

My message to Reham on her Newsweek article (see Links section)

“I respect the fight of BOTH sexes for the rights of women and have campaigned for years myself. However the first fight must be with yourself… the “misinformation” you are giving out is now very obvious and not only harmful to you but to others. How can Pakistan even think of you as an advocate for women and children unless you address this issue? Tales of a past life of poverty and drama just aren’t working only the naive and gullible are falling for that… Your ex husband’s documents show otherwise… and having helped people claim benefits in UK, I recognize the familiar papers… which are standardized letters sent out to sort out financial payments post separation… Your ex has now provided proof, where is your evidence… or are we supposed to take the word of a woman who can’t even remember where she studied? Women and children must be able to trust those working on their behalf… There is indeed work to be done treating women with respect… some men would reduce women to a pretty face ignoring all other negative aspects… that is misogyny!”

Finally a reminder…

“O you who believe!  Fear God, and be with those who are true (in word and deeds).” (Quran 9:119)

Islamic State release graphic new video burning alive Shi’a “spies” in a “like for like” retaliation

CNvTrodUkAAvKAZ

Still from IS video showing alleged Shi’a spies

Just a few days after an horrific video clip was released showing Shi’a fighter Abu Asrael the ‘father of archangel of death’ slicing into an alleged Islamic State fighter who had allegedly been burnt alive, IS have responded with a similar video of their own.

Asrael who joined Imam Ali brigade, a Iraqi Shi’a militia group sponsored by Iran was seen carving into the body with an apparent reference to slicing shawarma (grilled meat).

Full story can be read on the following link,

“Sheer nightmare for opposition as Imam Ali fighter Abu Asrael slices into burning man”

“Like for like” retaliation

The latest film from IS entitled “Punish them with the same harm they have caused you” is a “like for like” vengeance video said to have been filmed in Anbar province. It focuses on 4 alleged “spies” Iraqi militia dressed in the familiar orange jumpsuits that are seen being made to watch video clips of atrocities related to Shi’a fighters. They then give their “confessions”.

The captives are led near to what is to be their place of death and an IS fighter then delivers a speech. The four men are trussed up like chickens, hands and legs tied behind them and suspended from what looks almost like a swing frame from a child’s play area. They are hung from chains and the fires are lit beneath them. They then burn to death.

anbar-isis-video

Graphic scenes from latest IS video (this image from Dhaka link)

It was clear from IS fighters response to the Asrael video last week that retaliation was on the cards. Though it is unclear if this video was made after that of Abu Asrael. IS supporters commented on my article having already watched the video (which I refrained from posting) and were keen to let me know that they regarded their behaviour in a different light to that of Shi’a when I remarked Shi’a were also responding to IS actions.

Sunni and Shi’a are locked in a brutal cycle where no end is in sight. The Asrael video seemed to get less media attention but this could be due to the uncomfortable position of some in the west who championed him as a battlefield hero against IS… though the west supporting those engaged in atrocities is nothing new.

Another example is Afghanistan where US funds alleged war criminals now actively involved in running the country. In addition, despite calls from human rights organizations and a letter from the American Bar Association to hold the CIA to account for contents of the torture report, no action has been taken and it will probably stay that way. So alleged war crimes are observed on all sides and the body count is impossible to know.

Pakistan’s hypocrisy over education, from Malala to the Khan kids and the students of Shaktoi

CNlh9MCUEAAIFyJ

While many benefit from the incorrect narrative of Malala being shot “for going to school” Pakistan authorities deny the Khan children their right to an education

Malala

When a young girl was targeted by the Taliban in Pakistan on October 9th, 2012 there was a worldwide outcry. The media was full of the horror of the attack and that Malala Yousafzai age 14 was shot “for going to school” denied an education. First of all I strongly condemn the violence of this act but point out that the majority of press misreported the incident. Malala was singled out not for following her dream of learning but because she and her father Ziauddin were seen by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) to be betraying Islam. They were viewed as “spies of the west” following their meeting with US Ambassador Richard Holbrooke when Malala was 13 and participation in filming with foreign journalists in which Taliban were heavily criticised. Malala was put forward by her father to write a blog for the BBC from aged 10, highlighting the school he ran which drew attention to his daughter.

Express Tribune quoted the Taliban as saying,

“She used to propagate against mujahideen (holy warriors) to defame (the) Taliban. The Holy Quran says that people propagating against Islam and Islamic forces would be killed.”

“We targeted her because she would speak against the Taliban while sitting with shameless strangers and idealized the biggest enemy of Islam, Barack Obama.”

“We did not attack her for raising voice for education. We targeted her for opposing mujahideen and their war,” said the Taliban.

“Shariah (Islamic law) says that even a child can be killed if he is propagating against Islam.”

See following link,

http://tribune.com.pk/story/452331/taliban-says-its-attack-on-malala-justified/

Malala’s father who ran the Khushal Public School in Pakistan became the educational attaché of Pakistan in its consulate in Birmingham when they relocated to the UK following the shooting. He is now UN Special Adviser on Global Education.

The Taliban story of “denying education” is used time and time again often to bring in money whilst at the same time others in a responsible position in the government and institutional bodies of Pakistan have a much greater role in reality denying kids an education. The Taliban are far too busy engaged in fighting with the Pakistan military who instigated operation Zarb-e-Asb in 2014 to worry about chasing up girls going to school. What they do emphasise is the importance of providing an education in line with the teachings of Islam which for example can be obtained by Muslims at a faith school in the UK. However recently there has been panic from government and educational bodies as reported by the BBC that children were not being taught enough in schools about western “democracy” and “British values” (whatever that means) the man-made system of rule whereas Islam stresses the importance of Allah (God’s law) sharia. Education has become another battlefield.

stream_img

Malala used by western misogynists such as former Prime Minister Gordon Brown who pushes “for profit” schools in Pakistan and cared little for the rights of women in UK (Image ITV)

The story propagated that Malala was shot for attending school suited the agenda of many, people. Some exploited their contact proceeding to make money out of her through articles, a book and films. Politicians and envoys used the schoolgirl to further political ambitions and sell their ideas for education in Pakistan. Malala became a “cause celebre” and went on to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Meanwhile her old school friends back in Swat continued with their education undisturbed, the media often failing to report that many children in Pakistan were losing out on learning not specifically because of the Taliban but through lack of investment in education and conflict within the country. Schooling stopped as thousands of children becoming Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and the army took over educational establishments as military bases. There was also the issue of prejudice and discrimination against some students such as those with disabilities. This brings me on to the Khan family, one of many examples of Pakistan failing its youth.

The Khans

CNflXJlUcAAyQno

Hassan Khan is 12, he and his siblings all have speech and hearing impairments and are fighting for their rights to be recognized, to continue their education. He and his elder sister Summaya, 13 and younger brother Faisal, 10 are classed as having “special needs”. While some kids in the west “bunk off” going to school not realizing the value of a good education these kids are demanding some action on their plight. For the Khan family, when youngsters get to grade 7 they are unable to progress because classes are cancelled for those that are “differently abled” in Lower Dir, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. As Express Tribune reported, here are the words of Hassan from his Facebook,

“My name is Hassan Khan; I’m a deaf & dumb child. I was student of Government School for deaf and dumb Children in Timargara, Lower Dir, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. I passed the 6th class examination held during March 2015 and got promoted to Class-VII.

I and 14 other students have not been given admission because of lack of staff and facilities in my school. My question from the Government and public is: Is Education not my right?”

The full story can be read on this link,

“Where’s my class, no room for students who are differently abled”

http://tribune.com.pk/story/915425/wheres-my-class-no-room-for-students-who-are-differently-abled/

These children have now been out of school for months despite the best efforts of a father who has knocked on many doors without success. Amir Zad Gul told News Lens, ““I want my sons and daughters to be responsible and educated members of the society.”

The Khan children have now resorted to teaching themselves which is both inspiring and sad. These kids deserve an education and yes it IS their right. Lack of space and staff has meant that 14 children in total are out of school.

CNpSpBBUkAAkCJE

“Where is my school. No school for special children beyond primary in KP. Is education the right of special Kids?” (Faisal Khan)

The right for children with special needs to be educated

I tweeted, Phelim Kine, Deputy Director, Asia Division, Human Rights Watch on this issue. He tweeted back,

Tks for flagging this. Pakistan a signatory to UN Convention on Rights of Persons w/Disabilities.

Article 26 of United Nation’s Declaration on Human Rights says,

“everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit.”

Britain gives differently abled people further protection through the Disability Discrimination Act which if not active in Pakistan may now be added to the Khans’ list of campaign aims for the government to introduce to their country.

Article 14 – the right to not be discriminated against in the enjoyment of your other rights.

“has a particular relevance to those with learning disabilities. Along with certain legislation such as the Disability Discrimination Act, this right helps to ensure that people with learning disabilities are not discriminated against because of their disability,in all aspects of life, including healthcare, job opportunities, the right to independent living, the right to services and support in the community.

Article 14, strengthened by the legal effect of the Human Rights Act, also helps to ensure that people with learning disabilities officially have equal rights and opportunities as everyone else.”

Whatever the practicalities regarding the Khans, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government needs to get its finger out and act quickly. Hassan tweeted to Imran Khan (Chairman of political party Pakistan Tehreek -e- Insaf, PTI),

Dear Uncle I’m a deaf boy of Lower Dir KP. I’m out of school for the last more then 5 months. Your kind attention is requested

The -Govt; leaves special children education to philanthropists & charity & itself does publicity ads

It has been 150th day, that I’m out of school. Striving for right to education. No one in the KP-Govt is there to listen & respond to me

Activists protest calling for their rights to be addressed

The horrific shooting of Malala gained her world -wide attention and as a result opened many doors. The Khan kids only known locally, struggle to get their needs addressed by those who appear to have double standards on education… However their fight will continue, Sonia Khan tweeted,

“education is first right of child without any discrimination,,,,,,,, then why discrimination with special children????” ……”I will fight for my and all the right of all marginalized neglected persons with disability.”

“I will get education any where, at any cost, will never give up!!! my struggle will bring change in the lives of PWDs”

She told me,

“don’t worry madam, I’m as strong as a rock and will fight till the end, I have learned a lesson, that right ll always b snached”

Schooling under a tree in Shaktoi, South Waziristan. Who is accountable for how educational and development funds are spent?

Schooling outdoors, more needs to be done

The Khans aren’t the only ones not being properly accommodated. A well known Tribal Area journalist (name withheld to avoid harassment) posted the following message on Facebook with some degree of sarcasm,

“amazing development in South Waziristan Agency. Govt, FATA Secretariat, Governor KPK, Pakistan Army and Political Administration claims of developmental works come true after watching following pictures of a school situated in Shaktoi area of South Waziristan where students attending a school under a tree planted by the govt with support of various donor’s funds who funneled billions of dollars for South Waziristan reconstruction.
No words to praise good pace of eating developmental projects funds.
These are pics of one school under tree, there are several false claims of govt require unveiling.”

There are many similar cases that I have seen over the years and the problems faced by children that are displaced by conflict would require a number of further articles to do the subject justice. Pakistan always seems to find money for nuclear advancement, weaponry and conflict but not to give a child his/her basic educational rights. Shame on Pakistan for their utter hypocrisy championing Malala when it suits whilst denying these kids a future. What does it do to a child’s self esteem having to plead for an opportunity open to many of their friends but told the same opportunity is not being given to them.

Islamic Emirate: An introduction to new leader Mullah Mansour

Mullah-Akhtar-Mansour

Introduction of the newly appointed leader of Islamic Emirate, Mullah Akhtar Mohammad (Mansur), may Allah safeguard hi)

The prominent figureheads of Jihad generally possess distinct leadership qualities. They are usually either naturally gifted with these capabilities or they master them through learning and studying other Jihadi leaders. Due to their deep sincerity and devotion, these Jihadi leaders are granted with exceptional divine generosity, support and benevolence as Almighty Allah says:

(وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا وَإِنَّ اللهَ لَمَعَ المُحْسِنِينَ) [العنكبوت:(69)

Translation: (And as for those who strive to meet Us – We will surely guide them in Our ways. And verily, ALLAH is with those who do good.) [Al-Ankaboot:69]

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is considered an impregnable front of Jihad and struggle against international infidelity and tyranny whose founding founders are by the grace of Almighty Allah bequeathed with extraordinary proficiency and skills as leaders and guides.

The founder of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan himself, the late Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid (may his soul rest in peace) was a living anthology of such leadership qualities. Amidst the battlefield of Jihad and combating international infidelity, he successfully managed to transfer these lofty aptitudes of Muslim leadership qualities to several of his Mujahidin brothers who were his intimate colleagues, struggling together in the thorny path of establishing the sacred and sovereign system of Allah, the Almighty.

His Excellency, the late Amir-ul-Momineen Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid (may his soul rest in peace) was the spiritual and moral guide of new students of the Jihadi madrassa [Mujahidin] as well as being their military leader. The Umari Jihadi Madrassa trained and graduated many high caliber personalities during his lifetime and under his leadership, each one perfectly capable of guiding the Muslim masses in the most critical junctures of this era.

It is established religious foundations rather than particular personalities which play a pivotal role in ideological and Jihadi movements. Everything here is organized on the basis of Jihad and ideology. Teachings of the Holy Quran and noble deeds of our Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and his rightly guided Caliphs (may Allah be pleased with all of them) are the role models for the followers of these movements.

The core responsibility of the leadership in such ideological movements is merely to educate its members and followers both morally and ideologically and to impart them with spiritual passion and commitment.

Upon founding the Taliban Islamic Movement and establishment of the Islamic Emirate, his Excellency late Amir-ul-Momineen Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid (may his soul rest in peace) mentored for future leadership several Mujahidin who displayed foresight and leadership traits, capable of leading this Jihadi caravan to its goal and destination even in the most critical circumstances of Jihad and persistent struggle. Such fearless and courageous personalities who were undaunted by the most difficult of conditions nor influenced by dangerous temporal or spatial circumstances.

Among these foresighted vigilant personalities and pupils of the enduring Umari Madrassa is the newly selected leader of the Islamic Emirate, His Excellency Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansur (may Allah safeguard him) who practically handled leadership affairs of the Islamic Emirate during the lifetime of late Amir-ul-Momineen (may his soul rest in peace) and was appointed as the new head (leader) of the Islamic Emirate by Ahl hal wal Aqd dignitaries of the Islamic Emirate, religious scholars, Jihadi leaders and various other public figures after the announcement of his (RA) passing away.

Although the new leader of the Islamic Emirate is a well-recognized figure in all Jihadi spheres whoever to better acquaint his Excellency Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansur to all the Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate and the general masses of the Muslim world having affection with the Islamic Emirate, it is deemed appropriate to write down a few lines about his life and personality.

  1. His birth:

His Excellency, Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansur s/o Alhaj Mohammad Jan was born in 1347 Hijri (solar) – 1968 Gregorian in Band-i-Taimoor village of Maiwand district in Kandahar province.

As his family was well-known in the area for their affection for religion and learning and his father particularly held deep love for knowledge therefore his top priority for the healthy upbringing of his son was religious education.

  1. Early Education:

His Excellency Mansur Sahib, under the guidance of his father assumed his religious education in the village mosque and joined the local primary school for his early studies at the age of seven. As he showed signs of wisdom, acumen and insight in his early childhood, he received special care and attention from his father as well as all his teachers.

Due to his deep love for learning, he successfully completed his early education in a considerably short period of time. He left his home in pursuit of secondary education, joining various bigger distinguished madrassas where he completed his studies all the while earning a reputation as an intelligent and honest pupil among his contemporaries due to his innate acumen and excellent Islamic ethics.

He had not yet begun his higher education when the political control of Afghanistan fell to the Communists and the Afghan Mujahid nation rose up and began their Islamic revolution against them.

  1. His Jihadi and political struggle:

Due to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1978, the Afghan Mujahid masses began their Islamic resistance (Jihad) against them.

His Excellency, Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansur, who was now in his mid-teen years and had intended to complete his religious education left them unfinished and began waging armed Jihad in the middle years of the Russian occupation due his Jihadi passion.

But due to his deep love for learning, he would continue his studies under the supervision of his benevolent teachers upon returning from Jihadi fronts. It was with this sheer resolve that he completed his second to last year of studies and before beginning the final year studies, he left for the frontlines once and for all.

His Excellency Mansur Sahib who had just entered his early twenties was a strong and courageous young man who had purposely assumed armed Jihad as a valiant Mujahid to defend his creed and country against the invading Soviets and their internal stooge communists.

In 1985 he chose his Jihadi front in Kandahar by joining the famous Jihadi group of late commander Qari Azizullah and continued his Jihad against the occupying (former) Soviet forces and their internal communist puppets in Pashmul area of Panjwai district under the supervision of a well-known Jihadi figure Alhaj Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhond, who would later be selected as deputy head of the ministerial council during the rule of the Islamic Emirate. The Jihadi group of late Qari Azizullah was associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Movement of eminent Jihadi leader late Moulavi Mohammad Nabi Muhammadi. After the martyrdom of Qari Azizullah, this group was linked under the leadership of Commander Mullah Haji Mohammad with the Islamic Party of prominent Jihadi leader Moulavi Mohmmad Younun Khalis.

His Excellency, Mansur Sahib actively participated in various military operations against the former Soviet occupying forces and their internal stooges. In 1987, during a direct assault on a strategic Russian military post in Sanzary area of Panjwai district in Kandahar, he was injured with thirteen wounds on his body and later recovered by the grace of Almighty Allah. He was injured for a second time in May 1997 at Mazar-i-Sharif airport during the reign of the Islamic Emirate and subsequently captured by the opponent forces.

  1. His foundational role in the Islamic Movement of Taliban:

After the collapse of communist regime inside Afghanistan and the outbreak of civil war in 1992, Mansur Sahib laid down his arms just like all the sincere Mujahidin and did not support any party in the illegitimate war for power.

His Excellency Mansur Sahib, who was a renowned Mujahid at the time, abandoned all factional activities resembling other well-known local Jihadi and military personalities like the late Mullah Mohammad Rabbani, late Haji Mullah Mohammad and late Mullah Bor Jan. He started living an ordinary life and began engaging in various educational and training activities.

In 1994 when the Islamic Movement of Taliban was founded by His Excellency Amir-ul-Momineen late Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid (may his soul rest in peace), Mansur Sahib played a crucial role in the organization and development of this movement. Due to his Jihadi and administrative proficiencies, he was tasked major responsibilities by the then head of the Islamic Movement of Taliban which are as following:

  1. After the conquest of Kandahar province and subsequent successes of Taliban Islamic Movement in south western zone, His Excellency Amir-ul-Momineen late Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid (may his soul rest in peace) appointed Mansur Sahib as the director general of Kandahar Airport due to the trust he placed in the administrative and Jihadi talents displayed by him.
  2. When Kandahar province fell to the Taliban, he was given the responsibility of air force and air defense system of Kandahar.
  3. After the conquest of the capital Kabul in 1996, he was appointed as the minister of aviation and tourism.
  4. Simultaneously with heading the ministry, he was placed in charge of the Emirate’s air-force and air-defense in the ministry of defense on the basis of a special decree of late Amir-ul-Momineen.

While heading the aviation and tourism ministry of Afghanistan, he completed a number of new and reconstruction projects which are briefly discussed in the following lines:

When the capital city of Kabul came under the control of the Islamic Emirate, the main buildings and premises of aviation ministry inside this city were heavily damaged due to the internal factional fighting. Due to his reconstruction policy, Mansur Sahib successfully managed to repair all the damaged planes of this ministry and rebuilt the main airbases.

At that time the Islamic Emirate was facing serious financial problems on top of international pressures and sanctions but Mansur Sahib managed to renovate Kabul International Airport and its related buildings despite the inapt financial circumstances. Then he equipped the International Ariana Afghan Airlines for national and international flights in accordance with international standards.

After that he primed the airports of Kandahar, Herat, Nangarhar, Mazar-i-Sharif and Kunduz provinces for all kinds of civil and military flights and furnished them with advanced equipment.

On top of several reconstructive services in various civil and military fields of the Islamic Emirate, his biggest accomplishment was his repairing a great asset of Afghanistan (the air force), its damaged planes and mostly destroyed airports.

He arranged 24-hour flight facility inside Afghanistan and after a long delay of several years, for the first time thousands of Afghans were able to perform the Hajj pilgrim via Afghan Ariana Airlines.

Afghanistan which once had advanced defensive air capabilities on a regional level was totally paralyzed and put out of service due to the Russian invasion and subsequent internal factional fighting to the extent that some of the planes were dismantled and their parts sold as scrap metal. However it was Mansur Sahib’s indefatigable efforts which put all these damaged planes back into service.

Respected Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansur Sahib who tenured as the minister of aviation through the entire rule of Islamic Emirate put immense efforts into reviving and developing Afghanistan’s ministry of civil aviation.

Here we would like to present a few more examples of his work:

For the better guidance and control of transit flights of other countries passing through the airspace of Afghanistan, advanced aviation control systems (ویست دستگاه) were installed in all the prominent international airports like Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Mazar-i-Sharif and Herat which can still be found there today. This system resulted in millions of dollars of revenue as transit tax from international flights via Afghanistan.

According to a report published at the time by the aviation and air defense departments, nearly 44 different transport aircrafts and fighter helicopters which were damaged and put out of use were renovated by Mansur Sahib and then utilized by the air aviation and air forces for a long time. Their details are as follow:

Transport planes:

Three N-12 planes

Four N-32 planes

Two N-26 planes

Fighter Jets:

Eight Jet Mig-21

Three Jet Su M420

Five Jet Su 22

Helicopters:

Six Mi-8

Eight Mi-35

Five Al-39

Russian airplanes type 41 and n24 as well as American Boeing Company aircraft used by Ariana International were also renovated in foreign countries and used for public transportation. He also purchased five Russian made transport planes in the open market.

In addition to these purchased and renovated aircrafts Afghanistan had tens of Jets, transport planes and helicopters already in service, playing the role of a well-built air force. Instances of its activity at hand was their continuous aerial support and supply to Kunduz and other far flung areas where Mujahidin had bases, active frontlines or were besieged as well as their regular national and international flights to all major cities of the country and multiple foreign destinations. But in the wake of the brutal American invasion and indiscriminate bombing of our major airports, this fundamental national asset was completely destroyed.

During the reign of the Islamic Emirate, Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansur was imprisoned in northern Afghanistan for over six months due to the treachery of General Abdul Malik but by the grace of Almighty Allah, he was released when General Malik fled from Faryab province upon the resurfacing of General Dostum, opening a window of opportunity for the release of detainees from prisons.

  1. Armed resistance against the American invasion:

After the American invasion of Afghanistan on 7th October 2001, Mansur Sahib began his armed resistance against them. In his Jihadi lifetime, this period was fraught with difficulties and challenges for Mansur Sahib.

Besides being a member of the supreme leading council of Islamic Emirate, he was given the additional responsibility of Jihadi in-charge of Kandahar province by the late Amir-ul-Momineen (may his soul rest in peace).

Like other provinces of Afghanistan, Kandahar was in need of a strong, experienced and sincere Jihadi commander because the Americans planned and launched all their military strategies against Mujahidin for the entire south west zone from Kandahar. This was the reason that following Helmand, the second largest contingent of American, Canadian and other foreign troops were based in Kandahar and the second largest base after Bagram airbase was also built here.

But due to his Jihadi acumen, Mansur Sahib managed to sketch successful Jihadi plans against the foreign invading troops in Kandahar, rendering their well-known generals and distinguished military planners of the time inept in its combat and prevention.

Mansur Sahib’s Jihadi ingenuity saw him take charge in drawing and managing Jihadi plans for the entire south-western zone of Afghanistan after due consultations with the Jihadi in-charges of neighboring provinces, carrying out successful fatal attacks against the invading crusaders in Kandahar as well as in Uruzgan, Zabul and Helmand provinces.

Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate extraordinarily managed to break the heavily fortified Kandahar central prison in the years 2003 and 2008, freeing over one thousand and five hundred captive Mujahidin each time from the brutal hands of the enemy. These events also took place when Mansur Sahib was the in-charge of Kandahar.

  1. As the Deputy Head of the Islamic Emirate:

In 2007 when the former deputy head of the Islamic Emirate Alhaj Mullah Obaidullah Akhund was arrested, the late Amir-ul-Momineen (may his soul rest in peace) appointed Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansur as the second deputy alongside Mullah Baradar Akhond, the deputy head of the Islamic Emirate, and instructed him to concurrently continue his responsibility as the Jihadi in-charge of Kandahar province as it was a central fighting front against the foreign invaders.

In 2010 when the deputy head of Islamic Emirate Alhaj Mullah Obaidullah Akhund was martyred in the detention of Pakistani forces and Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, second deputy head of the Islamic Emirate was arrested by joint American and Pakistani forces in the city of Karachi, the late Amir-ul-Momineen Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid (may his soul rest in peace) appointed Mansur Sahib as the deputy head and general in-charge of all operational activities of the Islamic Emirate.

It was a time when the Jihadi resistance was facing tough challenges in Afghanistan as 30,000 extra troops were deployed by the Obama administration and over a hundred thousand foreign invading forces equipped with state-of-the-art technology and supported by 350,000 internal mercenary forces were actively fighting Mujahidin in each and every corner of our country.

On the one hand, it was nearly impossible for the leader of the Islamic Emirate, late Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid (may his soul rest in peace) to appear and guide the resistance militarily due to the critical security situation and on the other hand, the military and administrative vacuum in Jihadi fronts tipped the balance of resistance in the favor of the enemy.

There was huge military pressure on the Mujahidin on top of the increasing political and propaganda pressures. Many Jihadi in-charges were martyred on the battle field and a number of them were arrested.

In those most daunting circumstances, the late Amir-ul-Momineen Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid (may his soul rest in peace) placed the enormous task of managing Mujahidin against the invading crusaders on the shoulders of Mansur Sahib and appointed no other deputy to support him.

Respected Mansur Sahib, with the divine help of Almighty Allah and aid of the leading council of the Islamic Emirate, successfully managed to control and lead the ongoing armed resistance in such an admirable way that no leadership vacuum was ever felt by the Mujahidin.

It was the year 2010 which would prove to be the most fatal and costly year for foreign crusading forces inside Afghanistan. Mujahidin managed to carry out their most fatal campaign against the enemy during the span of that year, forcing them to confess to the deaths of 770 foreign soldiers.

Similarly under the successful leadership of Mansur Sahib, Mujahidin managed to liberate vast areas of our beloved homeland from the enemy and establish an organized Islamic system of life in them.

  1. After the passing away of Amir-ul-Momineen Mohammad Umar Mujahid (may his soul rest in peace):

On 23rd April 2013, when Amir-ul-Momineen Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid passed away, some members of the leading council of the Islamic Emirate, authentic scholars, envoys and messengers of late Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid and his permanent colleagues who lived with him till the last moments of his life pledged their allegiance to Mansur Sahib and appointed him as the new leader of the Islamic Emirate.

Since 2013 was considered the last year of resistance and struggle for Mujahidin against the foreign invading crusaders therefore several key members of the supreme leading council of the Islamic Emirate and authentic religious scholars together decided on concealing the tragic news of passing away of His Excellency, late Amir-ul-Momineen Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid (may his soul rest in peace) and keep this secret limited to the very few colleagues who were already informed of this incorrigible loss. One of the main reasons behind this decision was due to the fact that 2013 was considered the final year of power testing between the Mujahidin and foreign invaders who in turn had announced that at the end of 2014, all military operations by foreign troops would be concluded.

It was for these Jihadi Masaleh (interests/considerations) that this depressing news was concealed in an extraordinary way up until 30th July 2015.

  1. As the new selected Amir (leader) of the Islamic Emirate:

When the leading council of the Islamic Emirate officially announced the passing away of late Amir-ul-Momineen Mullah Mohammad Umar Mujahid (may his soul rest in peace) on 14th Shawwal-ul-Mukarram 1436 Hijra (lunar) corresponding with 30th July 2015, for the sake of even greater satisfaction of Mujahidin, Mansur Sahib gave all decision making powers to the leading council of the Islamic Emirate and religious scholars to decide about his fate as well as the new leader of the Islamic Emirate. He assured them that whosoever is appointed as their new leader, he would obey him wholeheartedly.

On this occasion, members of the supreme leading council of the Islamic Emirate, religious scholars and saints, considered Ahl Hal wal Aqd (influential and discerning people) decided after prolonged discussions and giving consideration to interests (of Muslims and Jihad) in the absence of Mansur Sahib, to appoint him as the new Amir (leader) of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

As soon as His Excellency Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansur was appointed as the new leader of the Islamic Emirate, members of leading council of the Islamic Emirate, heads of all commissions of the Islamic Emirate, director generals of judiciary and courts, heads of military commissions, intellectuals, national, Jihadi, political and cultural figures of our country, commanders of armed forces and all civilian authorities of the Islamic Emirate unequivocally pledged their allegiance with the newly appointed leader of the Islamic Emirate. All these military and civilian in-charges and national dignitaries of our country sent their oaths of allegiance both verbally and in written form to the publication branch of the cultural commission of the Islamic Emirate which were subsequently published on the main Alemarah website.

  1. His appointment as new leader from Shariah point of view:

Gathering of Ahl Hal wal Aqd to select a leader in Islam is considered to be the most authentic and reliable procedure by religious scholars and experts of Islamic political law. The term ‘Ahl Haq wal Aqd’ (influential and discerning people) can be applied to all knowledgeable, experienced and insightful people which is usually termed as ‘Shura’ or council. Three procedures are generally deduced by deeply penetrating into the various ways of selection of four pious Caliphs (may Allah be pleased with them) in the early days of Islam. The first one is candidacy, the second one is selection and the third one is that of pledging allegiance to someone.

Nomination or candidacy for leadership should not be forwarded by the person who is going to be selected Amir or leader as the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) has said:

إنا والله لا نولي هذا العمل أحدا سألة أو أحدا حرص عليه

)متفق عليه ) (اخرجه البخارى (7149 ) ومسلم ( 1733 )

Translation: I swear by Allah that we will not appoint anyone to this task (leadership) who has desire or greed for it. (Agreed upon) (narrated by Bukhari and Muslim).

Nomination must be made by someone for a single individual just like the nomination of the first Caliph of Islam Hazrat Abu Bakkar Siddique when Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with all of them) held his hand and forwarded him for leadership then the companions of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) selected him as their Imam or leader. It can be the nomination of several persons just like Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) nominated some companions for leadership before his martyrdom and then Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was selected as third Caliph of Islam among them.

Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansur has never nominated himself for leadership rather he was selected as the only candidate for leadership in the very first meeting by members of leading council of the Islamic Emirate and religious scholars. In the second meeting, he plainly declared to the council that he has no desire for leadership rather he would like to serve the lofty cause of the Islamic Emirate as an ordinary worker.

But the council nominated him as the only suitable candidate for leadership. After prolonged discussion of this Shura comprising of religious scholars, saints and members of the leading council of the Islamic Emirate, all of them knowledgeable and experienced people of Jihad, he was appointed as the new leader of the Islamic Emirate. The members of this Shura pledged their allegiance to him foremost followed by other responsible people, ordinary Mujahidin and the general masses.

It can confidently be proclaimed that his appointment took place in full compliance with Islamic Shariah law therefore hundreds of thousands of other ordinary people from all parts of the country and hundreds of authentic scholars of the Holy Quran and the Traditions of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) accepted his leadership, labeled it totally legitimate and pledged their allegiances accordingly.

  1. His leading and charismatic personality:

The newly appointed leader of the Islamic Emirate, His Excellency Amir-ul-Mumineen Mullah Akhtar Mohammad (Mansur), may Allah safeguard him, is considered an effective, influential and dominant personality from among the foundational members of the Islamic Emirate.

He is naturally bequeathed with unique leading and guiding capabilities.

Piety, sincerity, Jihadi vision, political acumen and administrative qualities in implementing various tasks are characteristics which individuate him.

His Excellency, Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansur thoroughly follows the footsteps of his predecessor and Jihadi leader, late Mulla Mohammad Umar Mujahid (may his soul rest in peace) in implementing all the Jihadi activities of the Islamic Emirate. Safeguarding lofty Jihadi ideals, liberation of our beloved homeland from foreign occupation and the implementation of Shariah system therein are the main objectives of his Jihad and struggle. According to the teachings of the Holy Quran, he carefully listens to all the useful and constructive advices and suggestions of all colleagues in executing all minor and major tasks. He tries to assign duties to competent people and subsequently trusts them thoroughly. He always recommends to the responsible people to have mercy and pity on the ordinary masses.

He greatly emphasizes on this point, “The Islamic Emirate is a common abode of all Afghans therefore all should be reflected herein.”

  1. His vision and ideological perspectives:

His Excellency, Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansur belongs to people of Ahl Sunnah wal Jama’ah (Sunnah and Consensus) and follows the path of the great Imam (jurist) Hazrat Abu Hanifa (may Allah bless him).

He is fully conscious of the delicacy and complexity of all contemporary regional and international politics.

While facing him, one can easily discern his serenity, gravity and dignity. Simplicity and straightforwardness are his common companions.

He has special interest in studying the role model of our Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) as well as the lives of his lofty companions (may Allah be pleased with them). He is always eager and interested to hear about the military situations of battlefields whenever meeting Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate.

Despite all his many Jihadi and administrative activities and responsibilities, he regularly and keenly follows the media and subsequently gives distinct meaningful recommendations to Jihadi writers, particularly to the workers of the cultural and publication department of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

  1. His routine life and some of his characteristics:

His Excellency, Mullah Mohammad Mansur assumes his day with the recitation of the Holy Quran. He remains in regular contact with Jihadi fronts and the military in-charges. He thoroughly checks all the military planning against the enemy and fully stresses upon all Jihadi commanders to protect the lives and properties of all civilian masses and to deal with them in sympathetic and dignified manner.

As a dominant military commander, he treats his Jihadi colleagues, Mujahidin and ordinary masses in respectful and compassionate manner. He pays full attention and renders due respect to the words and advices of scholars, teachers and all elderly people in public and private meetings. He gives special attention to looking after the orphans and families of Mujahidin who have laid down their lives in the path of Jihad. He takes due care in all political matters and carefully listens to views and suggestions of all discerning people in this regard.

He particularly loves and has interest in marksmanship. He considers the implementation of Jihadi exercises the most suitable and required sport of our time.

He speaks less and tries to listen more to other people. He likes and wears loose, neat and clean clothes. He dislikes and avoids extravagance and prodigality in dressing, eating and all other needs of everyday life.

The main and foremost purpose of his life is the well-organization of Jihadi activities and their subsequent follow-up. In this fashion he remains busy from dawn to dust.

May Almighty Allah safeguard him! Amin

Ameer ul Mumineen – The Successor of Glories (via Islamic Emirate Afghanistan)

CLbEuoeVEAAW00I

Written by: Muhammad Rasool Bahadur

A lot of interesting words can be written about Ameer ul Mumineen (رحمہ اللہ) because from the historical point of view, he was such a great man who kept the flag of Islam high in a time when everyone was finding a refuge to hide. He added a glorious chapter in the history of Muslim Ummah and especially Afghanistan. Many writings are being authored about the personality of Ameer ul Mumineen encompassing amazing facts that leave a human mind marveled. Everyone is trying to write something that none other has written. Even if someone has already written something, they change its order and style. In my mind, there are two traits of Ameer Ul Mumineen which I feel are very significant among his qualities.

Defender of the fruits of Jihad:

No one has a difference of opinion about the fact that victories in Afghan Jihad are not only important for Afghanistan but they’re important for the Muslims of entire world. Because when some commanders fell to internal strife after the defeat of Russia, we witnessed that the great scholars from around the world actively participated to resolve peace between them. Some respected scholars and elders had to bear a lot of afflictions during this process, but they did not worry about all this and continued to work towards reconciliation. Such moves show that the unity in our ranks holds a great importance for them.

Therefore, an amazing unity was established at the time of Russian withdrawal, but unfortunately some shortsighted leaders did not keep Jihadi objectives in mind and followed the path chosen by their enemy while on the other hand, kuffaar are united against Muslims even with millions of differences.

We are well aware that the US helped Afghans against Russia and did not withhold any sort of support. However, when the matter reached to the point where Mujahideen started discussing the implementation of Islamic government, the enmity between the same infidels suddenly turned into friendship. Both these rivals – US and Russia – agreed on the fact that the path of establishing Islamic government in Afghanistan must he stopped.

When Russia was defeated, western thinkers had said: “Our temporary enemy is defeated but our eternal enemy has just awoken from slumber”. Meaning that the enmity of Russia and America is although temporary but the animosity with Islam is eternal and everlasting. Since Islamic System is unacceptable to both of them, they began their attacks against the Islamic System together.

The motive of both countries was to instigate infighting between Afghan Jihadi groups in such a way that would eradicate the glory of Jihad from the minds of people. Jihad was declared mischief by both Communist and Nationalist agents. Common masses were affected by this propaganda. Islamic Movements were depicted as failed organizations.

When the differences between groups rose to peak and life became difficult for masses, the Defender of the glorious Jihad arrived in the battlefield with his sword unsheathed. Candles of hope were lit and the fragrance of Jihad spread across the land. Those who sacrifice their lives for the sake of Islam were glorified. The heads that were severed for implementing Shariah in the path of Allah met eternal success. The men who sacrificed their youth for the Shariah of Muhammad SAW were looked at as valuable. They implemented the Islamic System and showed the whole world that this is what we sacrificed our lives for.

Continuation of Afghan History:

Due to internal conflicts and differences, the Afghan nation was on a point where historically, no possibility of peace could be expected. The enemy believed that these people would never reconcile now and their view was correct to some extent because Afghan’s could leave significant marks in the history only when they had united themselves. Otherwise, in the absence of unity and agreement, only the stories of Zardad Khel would be written.

The greatest challenge at that time on the lips of global media and the world was the partition of Afghanistan. Some people in Afghanistan even fancied ministries and other political positions that may be given to them through this process of partition. But in the middle of all this, one man raised the banner of Jihad that ruined all the wicked aims of enemies. All those who were making plans of partition disappeared in their armholes like rats. He protected the “Abdaali”geography such that the analysts ran towards Moscow, Washington and Istanbul. Every plot for this partition failed miserably and a historic unity was established in the country based on the foundation of Islamic ideology.

Today we can witness what relationship has united the Mujahideen in northern areas under the leadership of Islamic Emirate? How will we picture these scenes today when the Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate are spread across the dimensions and in mutual union?

Yes it was Ameer ul Mumineen Mullah Omar (ra) who was the heir of historic glories of Afghans, who neither tolerated the division of this country nor allowed its destruction. Some Western agents hit severe blows on this brotherhood of Muslim Nation but Ameer Ul Mumineen stood as a mountain in their path because he had foreseen the emerging danger which resulted in forming a historic movement of Afghan people. And he surfaced as an influential leader on the national as well as global level.

This is what makes us say that Ameer ul Mumineen was the successor of the glories of Afghan history.

End

Afghanistan: Spokesman of Islamic Emirate answers several important questions

Here we present to our readers the English translation of an interview conducted by Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, with Afghan Islamic Press news site answering several important questions lingering in the minds of many Afghans and people worldwide.

AIP: Following the passing away of Mullah Muhammad Omar Mujahid, some former and current high-ranking officials declared their opposition to the new leader. What are the reasons behind this disagreement?

Internal disagreements and difference are found and arise on various subjects and are a common feature in every movement or system. The passing away of the late Amir ul Mumineen Mullah Mummand Omar Mujahid (RA) and the selection of his heir was an important issue and a major transition. So it is entirely possible that some colleagues would have found this process extremely burdensome and tried to let their feelings be known through the media while it is also cannot be ruled out that some malicious circles might have tried to deliberately instigate a campaign to divide the Islamic Emirate. However we currently believe that these disagreements are being answered to and the problems are moving towards a resolution.

The respected leadership of the Islamic Emirate and especially his excellency Mansur Sahib are determined to listen to all the reasonable objections of individuals and are working hard for their conciliation and integration.

Another thing to touch upon is that despite their small number, all the disillusioned brothers who are standing with the opposition are not actually united upon a common point rather each one has his own objection.

But now that the issue of the new leader has been resolved and the Emirate has once again stood on its feet due to most of the people having pledged allegiance therefore it is hoped that the rest of the brothers will set their minor trivial differences aside like how many already have and the Emirate will also exert further efforts for their complete satisfaction.

AIP: The head of the Political Office resigned after announcement of the new leader and has yet to declare his allegiance to him, has Tayyab Agha left the Islamic Emirate?

Without a doubt that the respected Tayyab Agha has shouldered a lot of pain with the Emirate and has served admirably. As for him voluntarily presenting his resignation then he must have thought it was appropriate. However we still consider him a member of the Islamic Emirate, his colleagues are working hard to take advantage from his experiences and we do not see any barrier which Allah forbid, would make him turn his back on this distinguished front of Jihad. He has also stated in his resignation letter “I will resign as the head of the Political Office but will continue working in an individual capacity with the Taliban”.

AIP: Has the resignation of Sayyed Tayyab Agha had an effect on your relations with the government of Qatar and the world?

Our policy does not revolve around individuals but is based on concrete goals and sound politics. The international community and world countries undoubtedly need to retain their relations with the Islamic Emirate in this framework. The Political Commission similarly has its own official guiding principles and such principles are not suspended with the shifting and moving of individuals. Another point is that the respected Tayyab Agha was accompanied with a large operational team of the Emirate who are still busy in their activities while Agha Sahib will also be helping them along the way as he so has stated himself.

AIP: The situation seems pretty normal at the moment as compared to the initial days. Can you state what actions Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansur has taken to quell the unrest of the oppositions? and what are its results?

His excellency Amir ul Mumineen Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansur has been practically leading the Emirate for the past 6 to 7 years. Each high and low ranking official got to know him personally and all of them put their trust in him. It was comparatively easy for him to take leadership and control of this caravan. That is why the Shura (leadership council) and scholars backed his leadership.

– In his initial sermon, he forgave all of the opposition and called for brotherhood and joint efforts.

– He did not hide anything in his actions, gave all decision powers to the shura and scholars who in return forced him and pledged their allegiance to him as their leader.

– He did not close any doors on any opposing brothers but continuously met and tried to reach an understanding with them. He answered every sour disagreement with a gentle response and that is why most understood his reality and pledged their allegiance to the Emirate.

AIP: Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansur ordered continuation of war (Jihad) to his followers in his first sermon. This was interpreted by many as an end to the talk process, is this true? If you do however believe in talks, has your policy of not meeting with the Afghan government changed?

The doors of indirect meetings with the enemy in regards to independence of Afghanistan and end of occupation were and still are open.

And continuation of Jihad has always been our policy. We have never announced the end of Jihad and neither are there yet any reasons present which annuls the obligation of Jihad. The occupation has not yet ended nor has an Islamic government been established nor is the country independent.

AIP: The international community has always emphasized that the Taliban renounce all ties with terrorist outfits (international armed groups). The Taliban have also over the past years declared in their statements that there are no foreign armed groups present in Afghanistan and neither do the Taliban have any ties with them. Now that the leader of Al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri pledged his allegiance and was accepted by Mullah Mansur, does this not mean that a gulf has once again appeared between the Taliban and the international community?

We have had a policy of non-interference since the rule of the Emirate. We wanted embassy relations with the world, ambassadors were sent to countries which recognized us officially and efforts were made to establish relations with those which did not.

But on top of this, we still cannot forget the oppressed Muslims and individuals worldwide. It is our religious and ethical responsibility to sympathize with the oppressed Muslims. People can label them whatever they want but they are still our brothers in religion.

We have not asked anyone from outside of our country to pledge their allegiance to us but if they do so due to their own affection then we have no religious grounds to reject their pledge rather we must respond reciprocally to their affection.

But this does not mean that our soil can be used against anyone else without our knowledge. It is a need and necessity of our time to not make the world our enemy and foolishly increase the allies of America with our policies. It is wisdom and necessity that the outside world does not feel threatened by us.

AIP: The group ‘Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan’ declared their allegiance to Daesh in a video. It is said that this group is based in Afghanistan. If they are in Afghanistan, would you be able to tell us what flag they operate under? how are their relations with the Taliban?

As for them being based in Afghanistan then this is a false presumption.

Those who are waging Jihad in Afghanistan are doing so under the flag and policy of the Islamic Emirate.

People under the name of Daesh are currently only operating in one or two districts of Nangarhar who are mostly Pakistani nationals with a very small number of young locals. They cross over the border from Pakistan and there is no one else operating anywhere under this name in Afghanistan.

AIP: What were the results of meetings between Taliban delegates and some members of the Afghan community in Norway and Qatar?

The policy of the Political Commission of Islamic Emirate is to openly communicate their policy everywhere and to everyone so that people are not left to study us through media propaganda.

All in all, the Islamic Emirate was able to properly communicate its message and policy to the world and Afghans and this was its result.

AIP: Is it true that the leaders of Taliban convene gatherings outside the country? Why don’t the Taliban transfer their activities to inside the country?

You are aware that our Mujahideen are physically at battle in all the provinces of the country and the provincial Jihad in-charges are all in their respective areas too. It seems that some brothers due to necessities might be utilizing the geographic makeup of the neighboring countries but this certainly does not mean that our members are their due to someone’s formal invitation. That is why some of our key personnel are imprisoned and some have even been martyred in detainment.

Many Afghans who had worked with the Taliban government were forced to migrate to relatively safer places due to the American criminalization. Naturally migration to countries which are geographically and culturally similar will be the first in line and which have been hosting Afghan refugees for the past three decades.

Therefore if the border regions of such countries are used due to a necessity that certainly does not mean that someone has granted us a free passage and opportunity.

AIP: Exactly whose decision was it to hide the passing away of Mullah Muhammad Omar Mujahid? and what were its advantages to the Taliban?

The family of Amir ul Mumineen (may Allah have mercy on him), the responsible personnel of Islamic Emirate’s Judiciary and some members of the leadership council including the leader decided on this matter together. Its positive effect was that there were some critical matters and conditions of that time which could have been exacerbated with the announcement but all praise is due to Allah, we have now come out of that phase.

AIP: If the Afghan nation were to say that Mullah Muahmmad Omar had passed away in the initial years of the American invasion or were to declare that he was imprisoned or that he never existed, how will the Taliban prove that he commanded the war for 12 years and he was the leader of this nation?

Amir ul Mumineen was physically undertaking military activities along with several of his commanders for one year following the American invasion. He then began issuing audio statements to the Shura due to security reasons which are still present with the concerned members of the Emirate and some have even been published online. On top of this, written letters were sent to the leadership and messengers also made rounds, so would there be any need for more witnesses?

AIP: As for the final question, until what goal will the Taliban continue their struggle and war?

The goal of the Islamic Emirate is very clear; the expulsion of all foreign troops, independence of the country and implementation of an Islamic system in the country.

Statement of Islamic Emirate regarding the blacklisting of Hafiz Abdul Aziz

1-flag

US Department of State recently announced that they have added a low-ranking Mujahid of Islamic Emirate, the student of knowledge Hafiz Abdul Aziz, to their blacklist and freezed all his assets in America.

America which has lost in all combat and military strategy initiatives in Afghanistan wishes to divert the attention of the world from its defeat with such superficial announcements.

The Islamic Emirate considers this act by the defeated Americans as a clear sign of their weakness and requests all its Mujahideen to intensify their Jihad and Jihadi activities in order to force them out of Afghanistan.

The defeated Americans must realize that blacklisting Mujahideen and putting bounties on their head is now an expired formula. Our Mujahideen do not nor have any plans to interact with America where such ridiculous sanctions might have an effect. Such talk and warnings by America will never have an effect on the Jihadi determination of the Mujahideen. America should choose the path of intellect instead of such actions and fundamentally change its policy of keeping Afghanistan occupied.

Wasalam

Omar III – From slum to Emirate (Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan)

CNEIIU2WIAAwCO6

Written: Ameen Wardak

Observe briefly the life-conditions of a child who opened his eyes in 1339 AH in “Chah-e-Himmat” village of District Khakrez, Kandahar. Orphaned at the age of five his beloved father passed away. The young child was left in the slums of Khakrez to spend his days in loneliness. As the memories of his father burdened his heart, he decided to move on and settle in the district Dand, Kandahar for some time. Soon he realized that his provisions were insufficient even there. So he moved on to start living with his uncle Maulawi Jummuah in Rozgaan (Uruzgan) where he began his journey towards the Islamic Knowledge.

At the age of eighteen as he was near the end of Dora-e-Hadees (final year of study), Afghanistan came under Soviet Union’s invasion with the help of local communist puppets. The Mujahideen of Afghanistan started preparing for the battlefield to confront this onslaught. Among these valiant Mujahideen was Omar III, son of Maulawai Ghulaam Nabi. After fighting the soviet aggression for some time, Omar returned to his ancestral hometown, Kandahar. He launched countless attacks on the Russians and their communist puppets in the districts of Panjwayee, Maiwand and Zarhi under the leadership of a Jihadi organization Harkat-e-Inqilaab-e-Islami and gained fame as a brave Mujahideen commander. He was injured four times while fighting the Soviets and in the fourth incident, he sacrificed his right eye in the way of Allah.

After more than a decade of resistance, Communism was uprooted while the defeated Russians turned their tails and the control fell to the hands of Mujahideen. At this moment “Omar Mujahid” went to Sang-e-Hissaar (Zarhi district) to resume his journey towards religious knowledge. But in the meantime, mutual disagreements arose among the Mujahideen groups and the people who had recently defeated Russians were now at arms against each other. These futile battles and conflicts lead to chaos and a series of corruption in Treasury, theft, robberies and the usurpation of basic human rights began. When this anarchy reached its limits, Omar lost his patience. He compromised his religious studies in pursuit of eradicating this evil from its roots. Seeking “Fataawa” (religious verdicts) from scholars, Omar once again picked up arms against the wicked warlords. From this point in Kandahar, began a war between Good and Evil under the name of “Islaami Tehreek” (Islamic Movement) and a council of fifteen hundred scholars gave Omar the title of “Ameer ul Mumineen” – Leader of the Believers.

Their mission was to establish an Islamic government. They announced amnesty for all those who opposed them in this movement and advised them to seek Repentance. Even during the battles, they would disarm their rivals and set them free. The series of conquests continued until on the sixth of Meezan, 1375 AH the capital of Afghanistan – Kabul was liberated. But sadly, what they liberated was not the Kabul that existed before Soviet Invasion – Kabul had now turned into ruins.

However, the newly born Islamic Emirate was able to implement Shariah law in almost all parts of Afghanistan except a few areas. This system of Justice was soon destroyed as a result of American aggression when USA allied with forty four countries invaded Afghanistan on 15/06/1379 AH. The invaders used banned chemical weapons shamelessly on the poor Afghan nation. Some leaders were arrested and handed over to America by the puppets who had sold themselves in slavery. They were then thrown into the notorious dungeons of Cuba and many were locked behind bars in Bagraam which is fully controlled by America and no local Afghan was allowed inside.

In short, Mullah Omar once again reorganized his Mujahideen within two years of American havoc and began the decisive war against the American and its allied forces which was to continue for 14 years and beyond to teach them a crushing lesson that will be remembered by their generations.

Born in Khakrez, this fearless man was gifted with some individual qualities which are rare in others:

  • Omar, personally used R.P.G in Jihad.
  • He was extremely simple, polite and softhearted.
  • He was God fearing and Noble.
  • He considered self-praise a deficiency.
  • He allowed everyone to meet him [although his associates considered it hazardous for him]. And Ameer-ul-Mumineen would seldom come in public. This decision proved truly fruitful especially when the West put a bounty of 10 million dollars for his head. After that he ceased coming out in public completely but continued to lead the command of Mujahideen from a small room in his mud house. He maintained his leadership in the light of divine instructions which paved way towards faster development in the Jihadi fronts.
  • Night prayers were his favorite deeds.
  • He wore modest clothes such that he could not be distinguished from his friends.
  • He ate simple food.
  • He slept on floor while his command was obeyed throughout Afghanistan.
  • He was king but lived like a common man and dedicated his life for the cause of Allah.
  • Saying ‘farewell’ to the pleasures of material world, he kept struggling to implement Islamic government.
  • He was not a Sahabi (Companions of Muhammad SAW) but lived his life like a Sahabi.
  • At the end, he did not let the Emirate to be inherited. An Emirate whose foundations were laid by him, he handed its leadership over to his deputy Mullah Akhtar Mansoor and did not let his son Maulawi Muhammad Yaqoub to become his successor.
  • Being in control of such a huge territory, he did not leave any property, neither any share in government, nor any market or a shop.

Finally, shattering the hopes and desires of enemies; Omar III – following the footsteps of Hazrat Khalid ibn Waleed R.A – served in the field of Jihad for long until he returned his blessed soul to his Creator in his small mud house.

انالله و انااليه راجعون

Sheer nightmare for opposition as Imam Ali fighter Abu Azrael slices into burning man

CNcmhIcWwAAN1qg

Abu Asrael (still from video)

Abu Asrael otherwise known as the ‘father of archangel of death’ a Shi’a fighter known for his prowess on the battlefield has appeared in a gruesome new video clip. According to the Daily Mail, the 40 year old, axe wielding former university lecturer (all “beard and biceps”) joined Imam Ali brigade, a Iraqi Shi’a militia group sponsored by Iran to fight against the Islamic State. Asrael also known as ‘the Iraqi Rambo’ and ‘Daesh Killer’ is referred to in the Interpreter as follows,

“his catchphrase, Ila Taheen (‘I will grind you [ISIS] to dust’) has gone viral, registering millions of views and reposts worldwide, and has even been made into a song. Reputedly a former professor and martial arts champion with experience training in Lebanon with Hezbollah and fighting against American troops in the Iraqi insurgency of the early 2000s, Abu Azrael has become a hero for many Shia Iraqis.”

Slicing into burning victim (video still)

Asrael  who is said to have a taunting sense of humour and in some photos bears a resemblance to the A Team’s B. A. Baracus  played by actor Mr T in the 1980 TV series is seen standing bearing a large sword and stick in the short video clip. He stands beside a figure tied upside down to what looks like an electricity pylon. The head (said to be of a man) though hard to tell in the footage, is burning and the body blackened and smouldering. Asrael lifts his sword and appears to carve into the body with an apparent reference to slicing shawarma (grilled meat) according to one tweet. It is disturbing to imagine to what extent the person may have suffered.

Social Media responses

Charlie Winter tweeted,

celeb militiaman Abu Azrael was filmed mutilating corpse of -er he allegedly burned to death. He’s one of the good guys, right?

@Qarkadan said,

You know the Iraqi militias hero Abu Azrael? Video of him burning and cutting a man, saying he’s like shawarma (grilled meat)

According to Real Iran, Asrael was “honored by the Iraqi people in Abbas Holy Shrine and met the Iranian Gen. Qasim Sulaimani.” He is also said to have visited Imam Reza Holy Shrine in Iran and “met several Iranians who are concerned about ISIS barbaric attacks and the situation of Iraqi people.”

Asrael is a popular figure for Shi’a with a Facebook page of fans following his activities. The video may cause some discomfort to those in the west that have championed the fighter in his battles against IS, he is certainly a match for them in his methods.

SaadAbedine tweeted,

Meet Abu Azrael, commander of backed militia, sponsored by PM , supported by US

Coconut Professor who shared the gruesome video on Twitter said,

Western newspaper ( ) glorifying Abu Azrael leader of Shia militias (war criminal)

Some were calling for the paper to condemn his actions.

I Muted You tweeted

I’m seeing people defend Abu Azrael, who burned a man presumed to be ISIS alive and cut into his body, and it is disgusting.

Pakistan: TTP threaten retaliation for alleged “poisoning” of prisoners and “no” to talks

d985d8b3d984d985-d8aed8a7d986-d985d8add985d988d8af-d8aed8a7d986

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) released a statement today regarding deaths of two of their members said to be in the custody of Pakistani authorities. An important announcement came from TTP on the alleged killing of Haji Mahmood Khan (shura member) and Haji Muslim Khan (former spokesman) during the period Taliban ruled Swat from 2007 to 2009

The Taliban Intelligence Agency (TIA) had informed them that both prisoners were “poisoned” on 25th August 2015. They have also repeatedly raised concerns over their members being killed in “fake encounters” with police. Alleged torture and unlawful killing of detainees continue to plague detention centres with little accountability though efforts have been made from activists and families to challenge through the courts. This “state terrorism” is a major security risk to all as it incites revenge attacks.

The Taliban stated that the two commanders (who each had a £73,000 bounty of their head) were said to have been arrested in the city of Peshawar where they travelled for peace talks in 2009 along with other members.

According to a Guardian report (Sept 11th 2009) army spokesman, Major General Athar Abbas said on its website that “the arrests took place in the suburbs of Mingora, the main town in Swat.” The paper stated,

“the announcement came shortly after the News reported that Khan had been engaged in secret peace talks with the government in Islamabad. The interior minister, Rehman Malik, denied the claims.”

Is there a future for peace talks?

TTP said no more talks with Pakistani authorities, thousands would be killed to avenge martyrdom of prisoners.

This does not bode well with regard to Afghanistan and Pakistan government efforts for peace talks. Yesterday US announced that Abdul Aziz Haqqani “a senior member of the Haqqani Network and brother to Haqqani Network leader Sirajuddin Haqqani” who is deputy of the Taliban had been added to its list of Specially Designated Global terrorists see article,

“US adds Haqqani network Commander to list of Global Terrorists”

US adds Haqqani Network commander to list of global terrorists

US has also made it clear the the government will withhold dollars from Pakistan if more Haqqanis are not taken out. Voice of America (VOA) reported,

“if the Obama administration does not certify to the U.S. Congress that Pakistan’s military operations have significantly damaged the Haqqani network, it will hold up the next payment of coalition support funds.  This is the money reimbursed to Pakistan for actions that help the U.S. military in Afghanistan.”

These announcements are poor timing given efforts for peace negotiations and will cause further anger among militant groups. In addition Islamic Emirate are heavily engaged in military operation Zarb -e- Asb regaining ground in Helmand province and show no signs of stopping.

Abdulqahar Balkhi a spokesperson affiliated with Afghan Taliban tweeted,

#Breaking Musa Kala district HQ, police HQ & all CPs overrun by Mujahidin overnight, details later

Latest | 40 hirelings killed in operation with 20 corpses left on behind, 50 including police chief injured, rest fled towards Gerishk

War Spoils::16 APCs, 13 vehicles, 10 trucks, 350 various type arms, huge amount ammo. Only 5 Mujahidin martyred in op, may Allah accept them

Islamic Emirate are also busy engaged in efforts to maintain unity in the ranks following death of Mullah Omar and appointment of Mullah Mansour (see Links section).

There was also a “green-on-blue” attack at a base in Helmand today. BBC reported that according to alliance officials, “two people in Afghan military uniforms opened fire on a vehicle killing two Nato soldiers at a military base in the south” see following link,

“Two Nato soldiers killed in Afghan insider attack”

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-34059696

No one has claimed responsibility for this attack.

Recent announcements of concerns over alleged corruption and mismanagement of so called “aid” to Afghanistan will only add fuel to the fire and dampen enthusiasm for dialogue as will reminders of unlawful killing of civilians currently being investigated again. On top of this the Islamic State now have a presence in AfPak… Bombings have escalated in recent weeks with some major attacks denied by the Taliban. If not the work of IS, then a further disruptive element is now at hand.
