For some time now certain circles, through the media have been propagating the claim that the Russian government is providing material support to the Taliban. The Islamic Emirate strenuously rejects such claims. The Islamic Emirate has not receive any form of military or logistical support from Russia. The Islamic Emirate has proven over the past 16 years that with the assistance of Almighty Allah and the full support of its nation, it can successfully engage and resist the foreign occupation.

However it should be clear that the Islamic Emirate – as a representative of its people and a guarantor of its national interests – seeks to develop cordial relations with all its neighbors and regional powers. To this end it considers political dialogue with these parties as an indispensable tool so long as it do not hurt our Islamic or national interests.

The Islamic Emirate during its rule had similarly sought to nurture cordial international relations. The establishment of such international relations are not detrimental to any nation or their national interests. On the contrary the Afghan nation and their war-weary people are in need of such an expansion of relations. Certain intelligence-sponsored outlets – at the behest of foreign occupiers – propagate such rumors so as to deviate our people and prolong the foreign occupation. However our Mujahid nation will never be deceived by such negative propaganda.
