Statement by Leadership Council of Islamic Emirate concerning passing away of Mullah Muhammad Hassan Rahmani

1-flag

With deep sadness news has been received that a renowned Jihadi figure of the country, Mullah Muhammad Hassan Rahmani, has passed away, surely to Allah we belong and to Him is the return.

The late Rahmani Sahib served in many Jihadi fronts in the south western parts of the beloved homeland during the Soviet invasion and lost his leg during this Jihad. When the Islamic Emirate was established, the late Rahmani Sahib joined it and later served the people as the governor of Kandahar up until the American invasion.

After the American invasion of Afghanistan, Rahmani Sahib served admirably as a member of the Leadership Council in the Jihadi ranks of Islamic Emirate.

The late Mullah Muhammad Hassan Rahmani Sahib was recently battling chest cancer and passed away last night due to this illness, bidding farewell to transcendent world for the very last time.

The Islamic Emirate appreciates all of his services and considers his passing as a huge loss for the Muslims generally and the Islamic Emirate specifically all the while praying to the Merciful Lord Almighty to forgive Mullah Muhammad Hassan Rahmani Sahib, grant him the highest Paradise (Firdaws) and bestow patience upon his family and relatives.

Islamic Emirate: The ridicule of General Campbell

CAMPBEL

Post via Islamic Emirate

The commander general of foreign invading forces in Afghanistan, General Campbell, declared in a conference that the only option left for Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate is to surrender.

What a foolish and ridiculous perception and a juvenile approach he has!! The only benefit of these expressions were that his immaturity and idiocy were revealed.

General Campbell expressed his views while he has completely failed in his assignment for Afghanistan and has been replaced by his successor. Numerous foreign troops and his trained internal forces were either killed or crippled in the successful attacks of Mujahidin during his tenure. General Campbell, though apparently he looks well, in fact has lost his mental equilibrium in the fierce attacks of Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate. He does not realize how to conceal his failure and embarrassment therefore his expressions are sometimes inconsistent with the prevailing realities.

General Campbell, while uttering the above ridiculous assertions, forgets the American involvement in this futile war inside Afghanistan for the last fifteen years. Despite tens of thousands of their soldiers, fully equipped with the most sophisticated weapons and advanced technology, failed to subdue the courageous Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate. Now that the number of foreign invading forces has decreased, the internal mercenary forces have lost their morale and Mujahidin are stronger and influential than ever before, how can he justify his claim that Mujahidin will have to surrender?

If General Campbell is not well acquainted with the brilliant history of Afghanistan, he should at least go through the previous assignments of his predecessors (generals, commanders and ordinary soldiers). He should consult General Franks, General McChrystal and David Petraeus. And ask them about their achievements and failures in Afghanistan. He would definitely come to realize the arrogance with which his predecessors came, suffered colossal financial losses and casualties and eventually left, deeply embarrassed and humiliated.

The brilliant history of Afghanistan is fraught with the names of coward and wicked foreign commanders defeated here and the name of General Campbell might be added in the history of our ongoing heroic and successful Jihadi struggle in the following terms:

‘General Campbell, who failed to pacify the Jihadi resistance of the valiant people of Afghanistan despite tens of thousands of brutal foreign invading soldiers at his disposal. Thousands of savage soldiers were killed and eventually he left Afghanistan as an utterly failed and unsuccessful commander.

Afghanistan has never been subdued by any of the foreign invaders in its history. The freedom loving people of our country have always munificently sacrificed their lives and wealth to preserve their sovereignty and values. They were never subjugated by the foreign invaders or occupying forces.

And the present day Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate have literally proved, in the real sense of the word, that they will follow the footsteps of their heroic forefathers. They are determined to continue their Jihadi struggle against the brutal foreign invaders as well as their internal mercenary forces unless and until the sovereignty of our beloved country is restored and Islamic Sharia implement.

General Campbell and his patrons should realize that Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate can never be subdued by force or by temptations. Were it possible, why would he have left Afghanistan like his several predecessors, failed and humiliated!!!

Haemophiliacs given contaminated blood from tortured US prisoners now face enforced poverty at the hands of Hunt

16_cover

Cover of Arkansas Times, story tracing haemophilia NHS blood products back to infected prisoners at Arkansas State Penitentiary

10th February 2016

The Department of Health have recently announced proposals for drastic cuts to monthly incomes and allowances that will impact on the victims of the “worst medical treatment disaster in the history if the NHS”. This is the UK’s haemophilia community that received contaminated blood products to treat a bleeding disorder where the blood does not clot.

To save money, the government often imported factor concentrates, plasma products made from the blood of US prisoners infected with deadly viruses including HIV and hepatitis C. Inmates’ blood was then injected into haemophiliacs often young boys (haemophilia predominately affects males, though some women “bleed” also). Many became infected. Years later, lawyers for haemophiliacs were able to trace treatment batch number directly back to infected donors at US prisons proving their claims.

The inmates were classed as “high-risk”, often known drug users practicing unprotected sex, some were used in medical experimentation and others were subjected to beatings and torture. The collection of plasma and the so called “treatment” of haemophiliacs violated points 1 to 10 of the Nuremberg Code. This was a set of ethical medical guidelines set up in 1948 following shocking experiments on Jews, gypsies, disabled and homosexuals during the Second World War.

For years the government covered up their wrongdoing. Some media falsely reported the tragedy as an “unavoidable accident” following the government line which has only delayed justice. Finally this terrible tragedy which occurred over successive governments is now being described by Current Shadow Secretary of State for Health, Andrew Gwynne as “negligence of public bodies” during a speech in the House of Commons. Negligence requires proper compensation.

Many of the 4,500 infected have since died, others struggle on in pain suffering severe health problems and existing on a low income unable to work. Lawyers for haemophiliacs have described this as a “haemophilia holocaust”. They are supported and cared for often by family members who themselves have given up careers to become carers. Whole families have been affected by the stigma associated with HIV/HCV. Some couples did not have children for fear of passing on infections. Haemophiliacs were also exposed to vCJD (Mad Cows Disease) through blood products.

The government has never allowed a public inquiry to investigate the circumstances of infection. Instead the Department of Health lied, shredded documents and withheld key evidence to try to stop haemophiliacs holding anyone to account. Lord David Owen put money aside to invest in UK production of plasma products from far safer volunteer donors when he was Health Minister in the 1970s. He stated on the front page of the Guardian that “if there was ever a public inquiry, the government wouldn’t have a leg to stand on”. Once he left the department his safeguards to ensure blood safety were never carried out.

A privately funded inquiry held by Lord Archer of Sandwell (former Solicitor General) heard evidence and haemophiliacs’ stories and recommended compensation “on a parity with Ireland” in the Archer Report. This was ignored as government once again misled the public with incorrect information saying wrongly that the situation for haemophiliacs in Ireland given a decent compensation settlement was different. This was proven NOT to be the case when a haemophiliac challenged the government winning a Judicial Review in the High Court in 2010. This too was ignored. The new proposals are “death by a 1,000 cuts”. Haemophiliacs have been betrayed by the government are being “shafted” now by the Department of Health but they refuse to die quietly!

NOTE… Neither the Archer Inquiry nor the Penrose Inquiry (set up in Scotland) to investigate the circumstances of infection had within their remit to look at negligence and  liability or call for accountability.

See link,

“Infected blood scandal patients were failed by inquiry, support group tells MSPs”

http://www.thenational.scot/news/infected-blood-scandal-patients-were-failed-by-inquiry-support-group-tells-msps.13467

Last year Prime Minister David Cameron apologized to the haemophilia community. Hope arose that after decades of suffering and abuse there might be a review of the “woefully inadequate” payment scheme set up for haemophiliacs on an “ex-gratia” basis as compensation was refused. On the contrary, Secretary of State for Health, Jeremy Hunt has now decided to inflict a form of “collective punishment” on haemophiliacs and their families. A consultation document has been circulated from the DOH with a questionnaire which effectively gives choices of which type of poverty a haemophilia would prefer to accept. (See “Links” section following article for details and Haemophilia Society response)

ln effect, Hunt has offered up a “final solution” that would deprive sick and dying people of significant portions of their much needed monthly allowances. In addition they stand to lose benefits from Trusts set up to support them such as pre-paid prescriptions, welfare advice, grants for children and heating allowances. Some could lose as much as £6,244 per annum. A leaked documents showed some haemophiliacs not die quickly enough and are too expensive to maintain. Cutting their income and support will help them on their way.

If that amount were removed from UK workers, there would be riots on the streets. The coldness and lack of compassion from the state is astounding. With the removal of pre-paid prescriptions some haemophiliacs will be forced to pay themselves to treat the viruses inflicted upon them by greedy successive governments who put profit before safety. There is a saying that a country is judged by how it treats its sick, poor and vulnerable, the British government have clearly given up on human rights and get a big ‘FAIL” on their treatment of a patient group harmed by the State!

The Haemophilia Society that represents persons with blood disorders stated,

“The Department of Health in England has launched a consultation on the support for people with  contaminated blood.  The Haemophilia Society  has deep concerns about this and has prepared information  for our community to help them campaign  for it to be withdrawn.” (See “Links Section”)

One haemophiliac tells his story (submitted to the Contaminated blood Progressive Discussion Group, with thanks) He has chosen to remain anonymous.

I am a severe haemophiliac, type ‘A’. Up until the age of 12 I was treated with a blood product called cryoprecipitate. This is part of the blood that is used to make blood clot. In the early 1980’s the NHS was looking at an alternative drug that America had stated using, that was more portable and was freeze dried. This product was called Armour factor VIII, there were other brands also.

However the issue of this drug is not how it performed but where it came from and whom. It came from American prisons where the donors were paid fees to give blood. This itself wouldn’t have been an issue if the prisoners weren’t infected with lethal cocktails of viruses e.g. HIV, HEP C, HEP B, HERPES, HEP A and many more.

As you can see, the very idea of ill, virus-ridden prisoners giving blood is a flawed concept. The inevitable happened as a consequence and thousands of haemophiliacs and transfusion recipient patients were infected with a cocktail of mixed viruses worldwide. Thousands died.

Personal current details
I am now 45 years old. I was infected with HIV at 12 years of age and Hep C and around the age of 18. When the hospital found out they gave me no more than a few years to live. This was normally the case back in the 1980s. Thousands of people worldwide were dropping dead like flies, so it was easy to see how the hospital had come to this conclusion.
How did it affect me?

You have to imagine now being a 12 year old kid. Picture yourself going to school every day with the biggest secret in the world that your mother and father, plus hospital doctors tell you that you can’t tell anyone. Not teachers, friends, absolutely no-one. Then on top of this stress, think about being told at 12 years of age that you might only live for another two years. In one way I suppose its empowering cause you have an excuse not to do anything in life – no homework, don’t need to get a good education, but the problem was the doctors were wrong and basically here I am. In an absolute mess. The problem was compounded after a few years when I thought, along with my parents, that hey, I might be okay. Then along comes the second infection; HEP C. By this time you would have thought the NHS would have stopped buying dodgy blood, but hey oh, that’s another story. So again I was back in the scenario of only a few years to live, this time with two huge secrets to keep.

Impact on my life
Girlfriends were a no-no, friends basically were a no-no as I distanced myself to hide my secret. Can you also imagine the horror and stress my mom and dad went through? You see similar pictures in Africa and third world countries even today where young children are dying from horrible diseases. You have to remember it was a time when the Governments and media were panicking, public hatred was high. I was basically a leper. Not a great start in life for a child I might add, especially with having chronic joint bleeds along with the pain and suffering that goes with severe haemophilia A. I have horror stories when I think back to my school days.

When I reached the age of 20 I worked for my local council for 12years. This too was a disaster as with my Haemophilia and chronic illnesses I struggled to stay at work. I was constantly bullied at work by the bosses. My life was hell. The hospital social worker eventually advised me to give up my job for the sake of my health. I haven’t worked since and have struggled to survive on the paltry payments given over the years from income support and the Government’s ex-gratia scheme.

I have to say that I am very resilient, like so many in our community, but also very damaged. I have acute anxiety issues, agoraphobia, chronic stress all diagnosed by a psychologist. I used music to help my situation. It does help. Other symptoms are chronic pain in my ribs which I’ve lived with for years, incredible bad stomach issues cause by HIV meds and possibly HEP C, memory issues, insomnia, mood swings, numbness in hands and arms, extreme dizzy spells, extreme allergies that have only came on in the last two years, dry eye issue, thrush. The list is endless really.

Current situation
I’m presently living in an independent living bungalow with emergency pull chords with my wife. I cannot work due to long term health issues. I am receiving roughly £14,700 from MFET payments; nearly a quarter of it pays for the bedroom tax, reducing my support enormously. The local council will not give me discretionary housing payments as they take into account my MFET payments and DLA. It’s quite shocking really.
The spare rooms in my bungalow are as follows.
1) My hobby/therapy room. My only way of preserving sanity and an escape from my stresses.
2) A spare room where my grand- kids and family come to stay, also where my mom comes to stay when I’m ill.

Despite numerous attempt at court challenges the Government still insist on applying this draconian tax. Sometimes I feel the Government are just trying to bring me down, perhaps even to kill me off with stress so that I’ll go away.
Consultation
For me, when David Cameron said he would bring an end to this whole mess of a situation and give proper adequate support to victims, I thought it was too good to be true. His promise to give security for victims was memorable.

My history that brought me to my feelings of negativity include constant solicitors, the Archer Inquiry the Penrose Inquiry and the constant delays since David Cameron announced he would give proper support. In the past 30 years nothing has ever really materialised as adequate.

The closest, I imagine, is what Scotland is proposing. For my situation I could probably accept this offer, although I am well aware it wouldn’t suit everyone. I’m struggling with life’s pressures, along with chronic pains and illnesses. I just want to not worry about finances, whatever happens.

Consequences of the new government proposals going ahead
If the new Government proposals go ahead, I as an HIV/Hep C due-infected victim will probably lose my home and my sanity. I will be down around £6,000 per year. I struggle now, especially with Bedroom tax on top and constant hospital visits.
Also losing the support from the Macfarlane trust would be devastating. Currently they provide winter fuel payments which are a massive help due to my high energy bills trying to keep warm, they provide support assistance for benefit issues and emergency payments for needs. The MacFarlane trust would be a big loss.

Syria: MSF-supported hospital hit by airstrikes (statement) and second hospital also hit

9 February 2016

Dara’a, Amman – Airstrikes have hit an MSF-supported hospital in Dara’a governorate, southernSyria, killing three people and wounding at least six, including a nurse, says Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

The strike on Tafas field hospital, some 12 km from the Jordanian border, took place on the night of 5 February. It caused partial damage to the hospital building, and put its heavily-used ambulance service out of action. In fear for their lives, more than 20,000 people from Tafas town fled to the surrounding countryside. The hospital is the latest medical facility to be hit in a series of airstrikes in southern Syria, which have been escalating over the past two months.

“I was on my way to the hospital to help admit people who had been injured by the airstrikes,” says one staff member. “But as soon as I reached the hospital, I myself got injured. It all happened very quickly. I saw what looked like an explosion and then a flash of light, and then I lost consciousness for five minutes. My colleagues saw me lying on the ground, bleeding, and rushed me inside. I was injured in both my arm and leg by shrapnel.”

This latest incident further depletes Syria’s already exhausted healthcare system, and prevents more people from accessing desperately needed medical care. With the Syrian conflict entering its sixth year, aerial bombardments in southern Syria are on the rise, and so are human casualties. The use of indiscriminate bombing has a severe impact on both civilians and medical facilities. Despite tireless calls by international organisations for an end to indiscriminate bombing, it appears to have become the new norm. Since the start of this year alone, 13 health facilities in Syria have been hit, confirming that hospitals and clinics are no longer places where patients can recover in safety.

In the light of this incident, MSF renews its calls for the protection of civilian life and the respect of health facilities by all parties to the conflict. MSF reiterates that the repeated attacks on medical facilities in the ongoing conflict constitute a flagrant violation of international laws.

Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan: Can General John Nicholson Win the War!!

نیکولسن

Post via Islamic Emirate

Latest media reports say that American General John Nicholson has been appointed as the replacement for General John Campbell, the current commander of the invading forces in our beloved country. After obtaining approval from the Congress as a new commander of invaders, he will take charge of killing, harassing and displacing the Afghans from their country. On top of this he will be responsible for protecting, supporting and supervising the two-headed Kabul administration. Like his predecessor (General John Campbell) he will be the source of authority to which the Kabul administration will refer to for resolving their internal squabbling. He will also be responsible for training military forces of the two-headed Kabul administration and in charge of determining military targets for them. Moreover invaders will participate in fighting and just as before, civilians will be victims of this fighting because they do not accept invasion.

The press secretary of US Department of Defense Peter Cook has touted the talents of John Nicholson and has considered him as an exceptionally experienced and qualified person to lead its troops. But are these qualities of the General enough to win the war?

If we look into the past decade of the imposed war on Afghanistan we would conclude that despite the large number of troops and despite perpetrating brutalities, atrocities and barbarism on the Afghan nation, American generals have left Afghanistan with frustration and humiliation one after another. The commander of American and NATO troops General David McKiernan, General Stanley McChrystal, General David Petraeus and General John Allen are examples to be cited here. These generals were also considered efficient, experienced and even compared to the likes of Aristotle at the time but the defeat of their on the battlefield and moral indecency of others are well known to everyone.

The question which arises here is ‘what is the reason behind the defeat of American generals or in other words the defeat of America?’ Notwithstanding plenty of wealth and strength, military might and logistical equipment, weapons and ammunition plus allies and surrogates? From material point of view, they are strong in all military aspects. Hence it is urgent that American officials and scholars carefully revise the issue at hand to find the real factor behind these defeats.

We believe the reason behind their defeat is their pursuit of wrong objectives. They are sacrificing their soldiers, wealth and weapons to spread mischief and to protect an internationally renowned corrupt administration. They openly accept God but do not accept His commandments and Almighty Allah does not like mischief and mischief-makers.

 {وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْفَسَادَ} (البقرة – ۲۰۵)

And Allah likes not mischief. (Verse: 205, Surah:2)

In fact they are protecting and supporting mischief and mischief-makers.

The power source of the Islamic Emirate is based in their belief in Almighty Allah as well as confidence and trust in His ultimate victory while the secret of our enduring strength lies in the purity of our objectives and support of people. The Islamic Emirate has started its Jihad for the implementation of a just Islamic system in the country and is struggling for the independence and freedom of our country and salvation of our nation from occupying forces and corruption. History is a witness that the secret of success lies in the sacredness of objectives. The history of struggle between Abraham (PBUH) and Nimrod; Moses (PBUH) and Pharaoh; Talot (PBUH) and Goliath and the Holy Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) and Abu Jahl shows that truth is always victorious at the end even though the scales may fanot in the initial stages of struggle between truth and falsehood.

{وَتِلْكَ الأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ الناس} (آل عمران – ۱۴۰)

And such are days (of varying fortune) We give to men by turns (Verse: 140, Surah: 3)

Somalia: Could Daallo airline incident be linked to laptop? Video being examined.

An explosion on a Djibouti-bound Airbus 321 where a passenger fell through a hole in the side of the plane following a blast may have been caused by an explosive device in a laptop. The plane took off from Mogadishu, Somalia but the pilot on the Daallo Airlines flight was forced to return to land at the capital’s airport. BBC quoted the Captain, Mr Vodopivec who said, “it was my first bomb; I hope it will be the last.”

Ali Jama Jangali, Somalia’s transport minister spoke at a press conference in Mogadishu saying, “experts who were investigating the cause of the blast in the plane concluded that a bomb was the cause.” The body of a man named Abdisalam Borleh was later located at the town of Balad, around 20 miles from Mogadishu. The Mirror, reported,

“The bomber, engulfed in flames, was said to have been dragged through the gap by the air pressure.

Eyewitnesses on the ground reported seeing a charred body fall to plunge from the sky.

Two US government sources said on Wednesday that initial forensic testing had detected possible traces of the explosive TNT on the aircraft.”

The incident could have been far worse had the plane been at a higher altitude. All other passengers escaped serious injury, 2 persons required hospital treatment. Officials believe the suspected suicide bomber intended to kill all on the aircraft.

Adam A Omar who tweets on security, politics and cricket posted a video stating, “suspects exchanging explosive ridden laptop that impacted, Daallo Airlines… he continued, adding, “according to CCTV footage an airport worker hands the explosive ridden laptop to suspected bomber.” He said, “manner of attack is almost exact replica of hotel Makka al Mukarama attack in which laptop is handed to bomber within premise.

Video from SNTV which claims to show handover of a briefcase.

There have been no claims of responsibility to date. Al Shabaab, a militant group affiliated with Al Qaeda is known to operate in the region. The group has recently taken control iof the port of Merka, 60 miles from Mogadishu, see following link,

Islamic Emirate: Enemy’s brutalities in Baghlan province

e4566543-e1454592026447

Post via Islamic Emirate

For the last two weeks the mercenary armed forces of stooge Kabul regime are struggling to enter Dand-i-Ghori area of Baghlan province; and each time, by the grace of Almighty Allah and due to the tough resistance and resolve of Mujahidin, the enemy has been badly defeated and consequently compelled to abscond from the battlefield while leaving several corpses and huge amount of ammunition behind.

Inside Dand-i-Ghori area, situated in suburbs of Pul-i-Khumri city the capital of Baghlan province, Mujahidin are quite dominant due to the unflagging support of local freedom loving masses. A perpetual hindrance has been created for the stooge enemy forces on the main Kabul-Balkh highway as they cannot move easily from centre to the northern areas of Afghanistan. Several leading figures of the puppet regime were also targeted and eliminated on this route.

The strategic Kabul-Baghlan highway is controlled by Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate at several points inside Baghlan province which is regularly traversed by them around the clock. Consequently this highway has been turned into a safe route for ordinary travellers by inhibiting intermittent looting and robberies committed by unrestrained armed militiamen mostly linked with the puppet regime.

The internal mercenary forces left no stone unturned and launched a huge military operation to establish a foothold in this area but all in-vain. After suffering heavy casualties and colossal financial losses, the wicked enemy deliberately started targeting and hitting the civilian houses in the area. Several houses were demolished with the help of heavy artillery shelling in which numerous casualties and huge financial losses were inflicted on the innocent ordinary people.

On the basis of recent reports, hundreds of civilian houses were damaged and destroyed in the indiscriminate and brutal heavy artillery shelling of armed forces of puppet Kabul regime. Similarly several holy mosques were deliberately demolished and martyred by these mercenary forces.

During these military operations, the main transmission pole supplying power to Kabul was also targeted and destroyed by the stooge enemy forces resulting in darkness for our numerous countrymen. The stooge enemy then tried to blame Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate for this felonious act committed by them and with regret some biased media outlets, while quoting the enemy without any enquiry, pointed their fingers towards Mujahidin.

Mujahidin categorically denied their involvement in this inconvenient incident and assured that electricians from the related organ can come to reinstall the transmission pole so that the people are relieved and their houses are lit but it were the armed forces of the puppet regime who prevented electricians from approaching the area to erect the poles.

The enemy has resorted to achieving their malicious objectives by victimizing and inflicting corporeal and financial losses on the civilian people. In this way they want to justify and prolong the illegitimate brutal foreign occupation which is inevitable for their own existence.

But the freedom loving people of Afghanistan will continue their just struggle against the foreign invaders as well as their internal mercenary forces. The internal stooges will not be left unrestrained in the implementation of vested interests of their foreign brutal masters.

Regretfully the supporters and claimers of human rights have adopted complete silence over the destruction of civilian houses, mosques, cutting power supply lines and demolition of other public welfare structures while forgetting that their silence is an implicit support of these brutalities of Kabul regime.

On the other hand, Mujahidin are determined to protect the lives, properties and noble values of our pious people and to defeat the internal as well as external enemies of our beloved homeland.

Thousands of junior doctors wearing surgical masks took to the streets of London for the third time on Saturday defying Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt, the dictator of the NHS, a man whose cut-throat tactics would not go amiss in an ISIS video. Men and women who form the backbone of the health service are fighting for a fair and safe contract for junior doctors and one that does not put patients at risk. Hunt aims to change working hours which many fear will not have enough safeguards to protect both doctors and those they serve. The Daily Telegraph highlighted,

“new contract proposals is a change to the ‘sociable’ working hours for doctors. These would be altered from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday, as they currently stand to 7am to 10pm Monday to Saturday. This would mean that doctors who are currently paid a higher rate of pay for working outside 7-7 will now have to work until 10pm, and on Saturdays, for standard pay.”

Doctors and nursing staff chanted “Hunt Must Go” and carried placards with the words, “Not Hunt’s Slaves” one woman posed for a photo wearing a mask with the word “Anger” covering her mouth.

Johann Malawanna, NHS Obstetric Registrar, Chair of JDC, stated, “events of last 6 months show talent of junior doctors. Whenever I asked for help whether mathematical, organisational someone stepped up. I wish the NHS valued and understood the resource they are throwing away with how badly they are treating my friends and colleagues.” Rachel Clark, a junior doctor tweeted, “Mr Hunt, you are driving away junior docs in droves and presiding over a recruitment crisis. Catastrophically unsafe.”

Sir David Dalton, a senior NHS boss was called in by Hunt to negotiate with the BMA on behalf of both NHS Employers and the Department of Health but talks have broken down. A strike is now set to go ahead next Wednesday. An earlier day of action was held on January 12th when around 38,000 medical trainees observed a 24-hour walkout to draw attention to their concerns.

Dr Johann Malawana, BMA junior doctor committee chairman stated,

“It is particularly frustrating the Government is still digging in its heels. We have talked in good faith over the past few months, but have seen no willingness on their part to move on a core issue for junior doctors

“The government misrepresents junior doctors as a block to a seven-day NHS, but they already work every day of the week. We are asking that this is reflected in fair and affordable recognition of unsocial hours.”

The public are standing with the medical profession with doctors receiving support both at home and from overseas. Dame Vivienne Westwood and Vanessa Redgrave joined protesters, others supporters speaking up for docs include Peter Capaldi (Dr Who) and Sir John Hurt.

Messages of solidarity have come from as far away as New Zealand and from medics in Gaza and Hebron, Occupied Palestine whose own challenging conditions have included working in a conflict zone and witnessing Israeli security services shoot dead a hospital visitor in front of patients.
