Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani (86) was recently reported by Indian media as being admitted to hospital in Delhi however according to two posts made from his Twitter account, he appears to be recuperating and on the road to recovery.

“Health update of Qaid:
Qaid today suffered an ischemic transient attack today and was admitted in a hospital in dehli. All the preliminary investigation were done and all the results are good. Alhamdullilah. No need to panic keep praying for Qaid.”

“Health update
Don’t pay heed to rumours Qaid is recuperating alhamdullilah. Tehreek hurriyat delegation comprising peer Saifullah, Mehraj Din kalwal and Ayaz Akbar has flown to dehli. We request you to pray for fast recovery of Qaid.”

Geelani continues to be a thorn in the side of India and according to Kashmir Images, had recently “rubbished as ‘irrational and unreasonable’ the British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond’s suggestion that ‘resolution of Kashmir shouldn’t be pre-condition for the Indo-Pak dialogues.'” He stated, “ignoring Kashmir dispute has neither helped in the past nor could doing so yield anything concrete in future” see following link,

“Ignoring Kashmir won’t help: Geelani tells UK FS”

http://dailykashmirimages.com/Details/104411/ignoring-kashmir-wont-help-geelani-tells-uk-fs

Recently Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students’ union president Kanhaiya Kumar declared that Kashmir is illegally occupied by India. He went on to allege the Indian army rapes women in Kashmir, an issue highlighted in the recently released book “Do You Remember Kunan Poshpora” (see links section).

Geelani is a regular user of Twitter and this was his last post before going to hospital:-

Azadi from appropriation (Geelani social media post)

“The mainstream media in India has once again elided the ‘root cause’ of the fracas in JNU  the issue that has, by and large, constituted the core of its denigration of journalistic principles just as the Indian Left has revealed its red-facedness on that same basic issue: Kashmir. The final question is always that of ethical fidelity: be it fair reporting, which by definition should mean an understanding of the matrix of power, or to what extent a professed ideology resists being mutated in the face of extant exigencies. In Kashmir, as this editorial is being written, once again people are showing solidarity, in the face of probable death, with militants during an encounter in Kulgam. This phenomenon of people marching to encounter sites and pelting stones at Indian forces is, like the ‘new’ phase of militancy, a response to the falsification of basic realities here. The ‘return to the gun’ is quite an inverse reaction to being ruled by the gun. No one is to blame for this except the Indian state and its minions in Kashmir; those who speak of peace and democracy under a regime of torture, killings and the attempt at an effacement of memory and history are always the real enemies of peace. How that effacement works, in the case of Kashmir, is not only at the level of the state – here, for a moment, understood as the actual issuer of orders – but within the media and even the so-called opposition to that state.
The Indian media has tried hard to elide that Kashmiris once again forcefully demonstrated for Azadi. The issue at JNU has been muddied into opposition to Modi and the BJP. In this, the media is being, willy-nilly, assisted by the Indian Left, given its capitulation to ideas of colonialist-nationalism. After the Indian media was discredited in Kashmir, it is now, seemingly, the turn of the Indian Left, which now harbours only the appurtenances of ideals of solidarity with anti-colonial, national liberation struggles. Some of them, perhaps, would do well to remember that the now-defunct Communist Party of Great Britain, in 1940, unambiguously iterated a position on ‘cancelling the partition of Ireland; (and giving) full freedom to the Indian people and all peoples of the British Empire’.
‘Azadi’ is now sought to be appropriated by the Indian Left, given the welcome spread that slogan has had after its unstinted, unequivocal, irresistible articulation in Kashmir. But this ‘Left’ must realise, that it has, in reality, been appropriated by the Indian right.”

US government to release number of drone deaths – Reprieve comment

us-drones-strike-yemen-ap-660

Commenting on the news that the US government plans to release information about deaths caused by the US drone killing program, Cori Crider, attorney for drones victims at international human rights organization Reprieve US, said:

“This is a step in the right direction, but doesn’t go nearly far enough. The Administration plans not to say how many innocents it thinks it killed in any strike – it will only offer a bland “aggregate assessment” of innocent dead. Contrast this to last April, when the President named – and apologized – for the deaths of two innocent Westerners, Warren Weinstein and Giovanni Lo Porto.

“To Yemenis and Pakistanis who live under US drones every day, the contrast could not be clearer. Faisal bin Ali Jaber traveled seven thousand miles to America seeking an explanation for the strike that killed his innocent relatives. No one would explain, and even now it seems they will just figure in a lump sum. This isn’t ‘transparency’ to him and other bereaved families.”

“This matters. the United States has announced killing at least 150 in one drone attack today. In every region where we have pursued an aggressive, secret drone policy, militancy has gotten stronger. It’s not enough to tally up the drones’ body count – we need a thorough reassessment of the program itself.”

Islamic Emirate: Quartet process is a farce!!

qcg

Post via Islamic Emirate

The media is again heating up the arena, saying that next week shall see another quartet meeting possibly hosted in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad and according to their estimation, the delegates of Islamic Emirate shall be participating as well.

As far as talks under the names of peace and negotiations are concerned, then obviously ‘Peace’ is fragrant and the need of our time especially for the Afghans. The Islamic Emirate shall never turn its back on talks and processes of peace aimed at bringing true harmony and stability to Afghanistan but not processes which are garbed in the name of peace and sympathy with the Afghans but are the complete opposite on the inside.

Just as the Islamic Emirate declared during the Pugwash conference; this war is imposed on the Islamic Emirate and the Afghan nation because the country is occupied while the invaders backed by their internal lackeys have propped up a corrupt regime hence the first immediate step is to remove the main catalyst preventing peace and prolonging war in Afghanistan.

The agenda of the Quartet process clearly indicates that they have turned a blind eye to the ongoing American occupation and direct interference in our country and seek to resuscitate the Kabul administration that has been brought to its knees by the Islamic Emirate.

If such is incorrect, then it is understood by all that the mother of all tragedies is America. America has illegally invaded Afghanistan, has martyred hundreds of thousands of our countrymen, tortured millions more on top of other unspeakable crimes and this process is continuing with great savagery. On the other hand she controls the elections from start to finish while Ashraf Ghani openly says that were America to stop supply of petroleum for a single day, the administration shall come to a standstill and collapse. So if the decision of war, continuation of occupation, lifeline of Kabul regime and other bully tactics are in the hands of America, then why is she not taking a seat at the table as the main party of conflict?

The Islamic Emirate believes that America and the Kabul regime want our surrender instead of true peace. They believe the Islamic Emirate must first be weakened on the battlefield before they can be forced into ‘Peace’. But this is mere self-delusion and in conflict with the ground realities. The Islamic Emirate is supported by the strong backing of its nation. The invaders and their friends must understand that no force can ever pacify the determination of a nation and neither can problems be solved through irresponsible illegal agreements. In reality peace requires strong resolve and a strategy based on ground realities, an important element of which is the end of occupation and not things that contradict each other in talk and action.
