Islamic Emirate: Afghanistan in the month of July 2016

Post via Islamic Emirate

(N.B: In this article only those incidents and casualties are covered which were admitted and confirmed by the enemy too. It is worth mentioning that for more and detailed information regarding the losses and casualties of foreign invaders and their internal mercenary forces, the official website of the Islamic Emirate should be visited on the regular basis.)

It is obvious that the security situation inside the country is deteriorating day by day, and the stooge admin based in Kabul is not only on the verge of losing the remaining few administrative centers, but the anarchy, armed looting, robberies and likewise other crimes are spreading by leaps and bounds.

July was a month fraught with political and military maneuvers, and some of them will be elaborated, analyzed and shared with our esteemed readers under the following captions:

Losses and casualties of foreign invaders:

On Saturday 2nd July, a convoy of foreign invaders was brought under attack, in which, several foreign troops were killed and injured. But according to the Associated Press, the foreign enemy admitted that only five of their soldiers were wounded.

On Tuesday 5th July, a helicopter of the enemy was destroyed as it became the target of a mine plotted by Mujahidin in ‘Zeri’ district of ‘Kandahar’ province, which inevitably resulted in losses and casualties for them; but the timid enemy, consistently with their deceptive tactics, adopted silence about their losses and did not disclose any of their casualties in this incident. Since no loss was admitted or confirmed by the foreign invaders, therefore, the number of their casualties could not soar up in the month of July.

Losses and casualties suffered by the mercenary enemy:

On Sunday 10th July, General Nicolson, a high ranking official of brutal foreign invaders inside Afghanistan told in a press conference that the number of casualties among the ranks of stooge admin has escalated. He added that it was the direct result of increased number of Mujahidin’s attacks on the military posts and bases of army and police forces of puppet regime. He expressed his anxiety by saying that due to the present scenario in which the army and police force of Kabul based admin are trapped, their casualties can exceed any other time. Though this general did not reveal or even refer to the actual amount of losses and casualties of mercenary forces, but one can perceive it from the following incidents which are only a handful out of a heap.

On Wednesday 27th July, a high ranking official of stooge national army was killed by American invaders in ‘Bagram’ district of ‘Parwan’ province.

On Thursday 28th July, the commander of sixth division was killed in a conflict with Mujahidin.

On Friday 29th July, the director of human resources in the stooge central parliament was killed in an adhesive-mine in Kabul.

On Saturday 30th July, the director of investigation in ‘Ali Abad’ district of ‘Kunduz’ province was killed.

On Sunday 31st July, the commander of border regiment of ‘Khanashin’ district in ‘Helmond’ province was killed. On the same day, the former representative of ‘Logar’ province in the stooge central parliament was also killed.

On Tuesday 26th July, in a separate incident, several policemen were killed by an infiltrated colleague in ‘Shah-wali-kot’ district of ‘Kandahar’ province. Five other policemen were captured alive from the same check-post by the courageous Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate.

Financial losses of the enemy:

Just like previous months, colossal financial losses were inflicted on both, the foreign invaders as well as their internal mercenary forces. During the whole span of July, several strategic places and districts were liberated from the enemy, in which, tens of armed vehicles, military tanks and various other equipment were seized by Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate. Huge military bases and centers of the enemy were demolished.

In addition to the above, two military helicopters of the enemy were destroyed by our brave Mujahidin, inflicting a huge loss, worth millions of dollars, on the enemy.

The first incident which occurred on Tuesday 5th July, in which, a helicopter of the enemy was completely destroyed by a mine plotted by Mujahidin in ‘Zeri’ district of ‘Kandahar’ province.

The second incident took place when a helicopter of the enemy was hit and brought down by Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate in ‘Pusht-i-Road’ district of ‘Farah’ province.

Omari Jihadi Operations:

In the series of Omari Jihadi operations, numerous successful attacks were carried out, in which, vast areas and strategic centers were liberated and captured by Mujahidin. Some of them are furnished in the following lines:

On Friday 1st July, the strategic area of ‘Astana Baba’ situated in ‘Shirin Tagab’ district of ‘Farah’ province was once again captured and controlled by Mujahidin.

Similarly, Mujahidin made significant advances in the South.

On Monday 18th July, the suburban areas of ‘Khanashin’ district in ‘Helmond’ province came under Mujahidin’s control, and the district center was strictly besieged.

On the same day, the strategic ‘Sangin’ district of ‘Helmond’ province came under Mujahidin’s control once again.

Meanwhile, four key check-posts of public order police force were captured by Mujahidin in ‘Garam Sair’ district of this province.

On Saturday 30th July, after a long and severe battle, ‘Khanashin’ district fell to the hands of Mujahidin and the flag of the Islamic Emirate was hoisted there.

Northern parts of the country also witnessed significant advances of our devoted Mujahidin. Some of them are elaborated in the following:

On Wednesday 20th July, ‘Qala-i-Zal’ district of ‘Kunduz’ district was conquered and liberated by Mujahidin, but the enemy denied the collapse of this district. Eventually, on Friday 22nd July, the member of provincial assembly of puppet regime admitted and confirmed that ‘Qala-i-Zal’ was under the control of Mujahidin.

On Thursday 21st July, Mujahidin successfully managed to clear and liberate vast areas of ‘Khuwja Ghar’ district in ‘Takhar’ province from the mercenary forces of stooge enemy by ultimately reaching to the outskirts of district center.

On Friday 22nd July, ‘Faryab’ province was the witness of Mujahidin’s well-planned and severe attacks, in which, the strategic ‘Tailan’ area of ‘Pushtun-Kot’ district was liberated and cleared from the mercenary forces of the enemy.

Enemy’s confession of Mujahidin’s strength:

On Friday 1st July, the head of foreign invading forces commission in American Congress, John McCain, expressed that colossal financial losses and casualties were inflicted on their armed forces inside Afghanistan, and apparently it seems that the ongoing war will ultimately result in complete devastation for America.

Similarly, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) told in a report published on Saturday 30th July, that the puppet regime has lost control of five percent additional territory which is now controlled by Mujahidin.

Civilian losses and vexation by the enemy forces:

The innocent and helpless people of our country have been incessantly oppressed for the last fifteen years by both, the brutal foreign invaders as well as their internal mercenary forces. This phenomenon did not change in the last month of July, wherein, no opportunity was missed to annoy and vex the masses. They have been mentally and physically tortured in different ways besides inflicting heavy financial losses and casualties on them.

In the recent past, the unrestrained ‘Gilum-Jum’ militia of notorious warlord General Dostam killed numerous people to the extent of genocide, in the disguise of mercenary armed forces of puppet regime in the northern areas. In retaliation to this excruciating situation, the chieftains of ‘Suripul’ province protested on Sunday 3rd July, that the unrestrained ‘Gilum-Jum’ militia is discriminately operating against a specific ethnic group in the north of the country. They added that members of this specific community are incessantly targeted, agonized and killed under the disguise of cleansing operations; while the heterogeneous setup has adopted complete silence on this plight of civilian people as there is no one to stop these unrestrained militiamen from their felonies.

On Sunday 31st July, a human right organization of the United Nations expressed its concern in a communique that Dostam militiamen are involved in unprecedented atrocities on Pashtun ethnic community in the north, by adding that immediate restrictions should be imposed on these forces to reduce the sufferings of civilian people.

On Wednesday 6th July, the very first day of Eid celebrations, a woman was brutally martyred and her son was injured by the mercenary forces in ‘Nadir Shah Kot’ district of ‘Khost’ province.

On Wednesday 20th July, twenty innocent civilians were martyred in the indiscriminate bombing of savage foreign invaders in ‘Maiwand’ district of ‘Kandahar’ province.

On Friday 22nd July, a funeral ceremony was indiscriminately attacked by the mercenary forces in ‘Said Khail’ district of ‘Parwan’ province, in which, tens of ordinary people were martyred and injured. Moreover, these servants of foreign crusaders incarcerated more than two hundred religious scholars and students under the lame excuse of security issues.

On Sunday 24th July, five members of one family were martyred and two others were injured in a mortar attack, randomly fired by the amateurish forces of puppet regime in ‘Dargad’ district of ‘Takhar’ province.

The above cases were only a handful out of a heap. For detailed information, one is advised to read monthly reports of civilian losses and casualties on ‘Alemara’, the official website of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Magnificent ‘Eid Message’ of the Islamic Emirate:

On Saturday 2nd July, the Eid felicitation message of His Excellency Amir-ul-Mominin (head of the pious people) Moulavi Hibatullah Akhunzada (may Allah safeguard him), on the arrival of auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr (i.e Lesser Bairam) was published, in which, the continuation of current political and military struggles were stressed upon. This message clearly indicated that footsteps and policies of the deceased leaders of the Islamic Emirate will be followed.

In this glorious message, stance of the Islamic Emirate regarding military and political issues and bilateral relations with other countries were well-elaborated. Moreover, the devoted Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate were advised to conduct the helpless and oppressed civilians of our country even in a more benevolent and humane manner.

Freedom of Press and the Islamic Emirate:

Simultaneously with the occupation of our beloved homeland, most of the so called free journalist were hired by the foreign invaders. They started serving their foreign masters by directly opposing the lofty cause of Jihad and freedom loving people of our country, and violated and demolished all ethical and moral values. Despite these bitter realities, the Islamic Emirate has always insisted upon the freedom of press inside the jurisdiction of Islamic Sharia; and like all other people, the protection of journalists has been considered one of its foremost priorities.

Recently some reports were published that officials and in-security forces of puppet regime were found involved in beating the journalists and preventing them from bringing out some facts and figures which reveal the true face of stooge setup. As mentioned above, the Islamic Emirate has fully facilitated the journalists to gather information from all areas under Mujahidin control without being scared or threatened, but still some biased and hired journalists intentionally depict Taliban as intimidating and menacing their lives.

On Tuesday 12th July, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate told that we have no issue with any reporter who follows the principles of free journalism. He can visit all areas controlled by the Islamic Emirate without any fear and fright. Recently it has been disclosed that some reporters and media outlets are directly serving the objectives of intelligence organs of the enemy by getting huge amounts of salaries from them on regular basis.

In the field of Politics:

It was clearly expressed in the Eid felicitation message of Amir-ul-Mominin (may Allah safeguard) him, that military and political policies of the Islamic Emirate will be perpetuated and the recent developments will in no way affect them.

On Sunday 31st July, media reported that political representatives of the Islamic Emirate has visited China. The main purpose of this visit, which was arranged on the invitation of Chinese government, was to extend cordial relations with this neighboring country and to discuss issues of bilateral interest, especially elucidating the stance of the Islamic Emirate regarding the prolonged existence of foreign occupying forces inside Afghanistan.

Invaders’ commitment and deployment of additional forces:

Though apparently the foreign are retreating from battle-fields and depicting it as an inter-Afghan dilemma, but they are still committed to prolong this futile war.

On Saturday 9th July, the criminal crusade members of NATO alliance pledged to provide nearly a billion dollars to their mercenaries, in the disguise of add, but actually for prolonging the ongoing war inside Afghanistan till 2020.

On Wednesday 27th July, the American invaders told about sending 800 fresh troops to Afghanistan.

Though the foreign invaders and their internal stooges have suffered a humiliating defeat, therefore, the only objective behind these renewed pledges is nothing but to boost the morale of their mercenary forces who lost several key and strategic areas in the recent fighting against Mujahidin. And for this purpose, the brutal foreign invaders never hesitate to shed the blood of innocent Afghan masses.

Opposition with the existence of foreign invaders:

Though on one hand the foreign invaders are pledging to financially support their mercenary forces for prolonging the war inside Afghanistan, but on the other hand, some independent organs are strictly opposing the existence of foreign forces here.

On Wednesday 13th July, it was announced that the main impediment in restoring peace and stability in our country is the existence of foreign invaders.

On Friday 15th July, the renowned ‘Washington Post’ wrote an article in connection with the deployment of additional American forces inside Afghanistan by saying that this futile war is equally destructive for both Americans and the Afghan people.

Geelani launches campaign telling Indian soldiers to “Quit Kashmir” as he marches to Indian army headquarters in Srinagar

Syed Ali Shah Geelani (Twitter profile image)

Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Srinagar, Kashmir has launched a campaign calling on Indian soldiers deployed in the region to “Quit Kashmir”. The region has been under what locals term “Indian occupation” suffering many human rights abuses, detentions, enforced disappearances, rapes, torture, injuries and unlawful killings since British India was partitioned into India and Pakistan as part of the independence process in 1947.

Kashmir Watch, reported that today, August 27th. Geelani will march at 2pm to 15 corps headquarters of the Indian Army at Badami Bagh Srinagar to hand in the following letter to the GOC in-charge asking him to vacate Jammu and Kashmir. The publication quoted an email stating,

“People in Jammu and Kashmir and all over the world are urged to mail this letter to Indian Army, Indian Armed Forces, Indian Navy, BSF, CRPF, ITBP and CISF stationed in the UN recognized disputed states of Jammu & Kashmir.”

See below for contents of the letter,

Indian Occupied Kashmir has experienced the worst violence in recent years following the killing of Burhan Wani (22) commander of Kashmir’s largest pro-independence militant group Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) on July 8th in a gun battle with Indian government forces. Two other separatists died also during the military operation following a day long curfew in Srinagar. Thousands attended his funeral, hailing him a martyr and calling for “azadi” freedom for Kashmir.

Since then, there have been weeks of curfews and concerns raised over alleged human rights abuses from the military and police resulting in the detention of many locals, thousands of injuries and dozens of deaths. Mohamed Junaid an anthropologist working on formation of political subjectivity in Kashmir tweeted, “50 days, 70 dead, >7000 injured, 1.3 million pellets fired, 446 people with eye wounds. Only a state rotten at the core can do this to a people.” Babar Umar who writes for a number of publications including Rising Kashmir and Indian Express said, “never ever was Kashmir curfewed for so long. Current regime has broken all past records. The homeland remains curbed for 50 straight days.”

In neighbouring Pakistan, Dawn media reported that Sataz Aziz, Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz briefed the ambassadors of permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the European Union on Friday regarding the ongoing conflict in Kashmir. He “deplored the lethal use of force by the Indian occupation forces against innocent Kashmiri people” highlighting that “oppressive measures by India cannot deter the valiant people of Jammu and Kashmir from their just struggle for their right of self determination”.

Arjun Makhijani writes the following in an article, “A short history of Kashmir”, after detailing an invasion in 1948 by Pakistani “tribesmen” supported by Pakistan government to assist Kashmir,

1948: India takes the Kashmir issue to the U.N. Security Council, which passes a resolution calling on Pakistan to do all it can “secure the withdrawal” of Pakistani citizens and “tribesmen” and asking that a plebiscite be held to determine the wishes of the people of Kashmir.”

Free Kashmir posted the following on social media today reminding that decades later the people were still waiting for the plebiscite which had never happened as pledged. The people of Kashmir wish to decide their own future.

CqZ0-BKWAAQgEl6

UK MEP Anthea McIntyre who co-chairs the European Parliament’s Friends of Jammu Kashmir group, was a keynote speaker at a recent seminar in the UK addressing human rights abuses in Kashmir. She stated in The Parliament Magazine that she wanted,

“to send a ‘strong message of condemnation’ over what is happening in Kashmir, and called on the government of India to “end this occupation, stop the persecution and, crucially, to remove the immunity of its military from prosecution for their crimes.”

“We must say to India – of course we want to trade with you, but not at any price. We must tell them they are not abiding by the Geneva convention. We must make it clear we will not stand by and see them continuing to maim, to blind and to kill.”

Islamic Emirate: Our Request from Honorable Religious Scholars of the Islamic Ummah

flage-only

Post via Islamic Emirate

The so-called Peace Council in Kabul has announced that efforts are underway on their part to hold religious scholars conference from the Islamic countries. They say the conference will play an effective role in establishing peace and stability in Afghanistan and in persuading the armed opposition to desist from fighting.

In fact these devious efforts emanate from a plan engineered by General Petraeus who was Chief Commander of American and NATO forces in Afghanistan in 2010-2011. He believed if different strata of society launch propaganda and convince armed militants to perceive that the current war was not jihad but rather power struggling, it will help end the present resistance. To achieve this he set up radio stations inside American bases in Afghanistan and would handout radio sets to villagers free of cost.  Then around the clock, they would launch propaganda through the radio stations, maligning the current jihad and Mujahedeen as well as   issuing religious rulings in this regard. However, praise be to Allah, his efforts failed utterly with the passage of time.

Now as the invading countries in Afghanistan and their internal surrogates have lost control of many areas and are facing sagging morale at the battlefield, they want to use the stratum of the religious scholars for the wicked objective of colonialism whereas the religious scholars have unremittingly raised their voice in support of truth, sacrificing their very lives in this path. But the invaders and their internal supporters have forgotten that Afghanistan is an occupied country. The land and air, military and political affairs all are controlled by the invaders.  Hence 1500 religious scholars have issued their ruling about (the legitimacy of) Jihad against the current occupation.

The honorable religious scholars of the Islamic Ummah are surely aware of the present situation in Afghanistan.  Otherwise they are urged to understand the present situation of the country where the invading forces carry out blind bombardments against the Afghan Muslim people and launch night raids. As a result, tens of men, woman and children lose their lives but none can ask them (why?).   They have filled prisons of the country with the public, reaching 35000 prisoners right now. 12000 of them have been detained under the name of being Taliban or having links with them or being their relatives. Among them are 90 years’ old elderly. They anguish behind the bars for years without knowing their fate because they are not able to grease the palm of the judges. Moreover efforts are under way on their part to wipe out the Islamic culture of our homeland.  Contrarily conducive environ for depravity has been provided.  Ministers and governors (of the Administration) hold nationalities of foreign countries and are nominated by recommendations from the invading countries. This is the actual (current) situation of Afghanistan.

The Afghans have arisen for obtainment of independence of their country and in defense of their Islamic faith, offering sacrifices in this path. Therefore we urge the religious scholars of the Islamic Ummah with due respect that the situation of Afghanistan is a complex one. Here intelligence agencies of the invading countries continuously concoct intelligence plans. We hope the honorable religious scholars understand the realities of Afghanistan so that they may not unknowingly become part of the American and their internal supporters’ conspiracies or become eligible for this Divine warning.

“And incline not toward the wrongdoers, lest you get touched by the fire. You have no protectors besides Allah, nor you would then be helped” 11: 113

This  is to be said that the Islamic  Emirate has left open the option of ending the occupation and obtaining independence through peaceful means but it is the invading countries (and their internal supporters)  who want to distract the attention of the public of the world and of the countrymen by devising spurious  plans.

End

Afghanistan: Attack on American University in Kabul, students report on their dead and injured colleagues

CqolHbaW8Awh0c6

“LATEST: American university in Kabul is under attack by unknown gunmen”

(posted by Mirwais Afghan)

At around 7:50 p.m on Wednesday evening students and staff at the American University of Kabul in Afghanistan heard and felt a blast which signalled the complex was under attack. Unknown gunmen entered the University in an incident which resulted in at least 12 deaths and dozens injured. According to Abdul Basir Mujahid, a security spokesperson, the deceased included 7 students, 3 policemen and 2 security guards.

In the early stages of the attack Afghan news Agency TOLO reported,

“Officials have said the Crisis Response Unit (CRU) is on the campus of the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul and are engaging insurgents as the attack continues.

Insurgents gained entry into the heavily fortified compound at about 7pm local time on Wednesday after blowing open an entry point into the university – reportedly through the neighboring school for the blind.”

Terrified students tried to flee, injuring themselves as they leapt over walls. Some barricaded themselves into classrooms pleading for help and sending frantic text messages to friends and family wondering if they would come out alive.

Bilal Sarwary, an Afghan journalist following the security operation reported, “Afghan Special Forces have cut off electricity inside university” and later quoted an ASF commander who said,”we have rescued 260 students so far. Afghan Special Forces everywhere inside American university.” As the operation progressed, Sawary tweeted, “2 attackers shot dead by Afghan SF. 3rd attacker still alive. Many still trapped inside.”

After 10 hours of fierce fighting between ASF and the gunmen armed with grenades and automatic weapons, the incident was reported as over.

At least 2 grenades were thrown into the room injuring classmates. Hossaini found an escape route through an emergency exit with 9 others saying, “as we were running, I saw someone lying on the ground face down, they looked like they had been shot in the back.” Afghan security forces rescued the students from a house on the campus where they had sought shelter.

Background on the University

The University was considered a likely target for attack due to its strong connections to the US whose forces are seen as an occupying army according to militants. The University website which lists key dates in the history of the campus states, “in 2002, Dr. Sharif Fayez, the Afghan Minister of Higher Education, proposes the establishment of the nation’s first independent university, and in a speech to the nation, President Hamid Karzai stresses the importance of education to the country.” In 2008, “U.S. First Lady Laura Bush announces $42 million in funding from U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) over five years .” In 2013, “the university signs another five year cooperative agreement with USAID valued at more than $40 million.”

The University also receives funding from the World Bank and Afghan Ministry of Education. As well as offering a variety of degree courses the institution includes a Business Innovation Hub, a Commercial Law Initiative and a $5 million International Center for Afghan Women’s Economic Development.

Recently two employees were kidnapped, see following statement.

Islamic Emirate: The Newton Laws of Kabul – The rowdier you are, the bigger share of government you shall have

John-Kerry-Afghanistan-620x330

Post via Islamic Emirate

Ever since the bipolar regime of Kabul was christened by John Kerry we have witnessed an ever-growing rift within this dysfunctional government. This bickering has reached such a state that officials are now increasing hurling public insults at each other. On the one hand the war-criminal Rasheed Dostum is bemoaning his lack of power in the government while on the other hand Abdullah Abdullah is accusing Ashraf Ghani of not consulting him in decision-making and empowering his clansmen in key government and commercial positions. Even middle-ranking officials are not immune to this petty-meddling and regularly hurl insults at one another. The hostility of these officials has become so toxic that now we are witnessing open battles between government officials in Kabul’s streets.

Two days ago Ashraf Ghani held the independence ceremony in Arg (Presidential Palace) while Abdullah Abdullah held a separate ceremonial gathering in the Defense Ministry. Both invited foreign dignitaries to their respective gatherings and celebrated their supposed independence. While this show of disunity was taking place Kabul residents were witnessing open street battles between Police forces and armed supporters of Deen Muhammad Jurat which resulted in the death of four policemen.

The militia members of Jurat opened fire on police officers after the latter refused their entry to Auranos Hotel. A hotel located in the 15th district of Kabul which is regularly frequented by foreigners. Residents noted that this is not the first time such armed battles have taken place in the capital. According to them other dignitaries and governments officials have in the past also clashed with security forces causing serious bodily harm or even death.

When the government is such a state that each head of government is holding separate and competing ceremonial gatherings and publicly lauding their dependence on foreign forces and lack of independence while outside their affiliated militias are fighting armed gun battles, then is it conceivable that Afghans will ever consider recognizing them as the legitimate rulers of the land? Do such subservient and narrow-minded officials deserve the reins of power? How can foreigners stomach such a shameless and toothless government let alone support it?

Drone victim: Obama’s playbook is meaningless (Reprieve)

A Yemeni engineer whose family members were mistakenly killed by a US drone has rejected the Obama Administration’s targeted killing ‘playbook’ as meaningless to civilian victims and their families.

As part of an Al Jazeera interview today, Faisal bin ali Jaber, whose innocent nephew and brother-in-law were killed by a CIA drone in 2012, said:

“The President’s executive order and the playbook both talk about targeting and ‘lawfulness’, but my relatives were killed in a US drone strike despite never having done anything wrong. My nephew was a policeman, and my cousin was an imam who preached against Al Qaeda. The Obama Administration has refused to explain why they were killed, or to apologize. This ‘playbook’ doesn’t provide any answers and is meaningless to us.”

“Since my relatives were killed, many more innocents have died in US drone strikes. Despite all the talk of targeting and strikes being a ‘last resort’, the American government still seems to be making these strikes without having any clear idea of who they are killing.

“I thought that the US stood for justice, truth, transparency, and respect for civilian life. I have been deeply shocked by what I’ve experienced at the hands of the US government. What is needed is an end to the strikes, and acknowledgement of the deaths of innocents they have caused.”

Commenting, Reprieve attorney Shelby Sullivan-Bennis, who assists drone victims, said: “The Policy Guidance wrestled from the Administration during its final months bears no resemblance to the lived experience of our clients. With no transparency and no system for oversight, the Administration can say whatever it wants about the care it takes in determining who to kill. Faisal bin Ali Jaber’s family knows the truth of the program’s efficacy.”

Responding to today’s YouGov poll, which suggested that 52% of Americans want the remaining prisoners at Guantánamo Bay to be either given a trial or released, Shelby Sullivan-Bennis, Reprieve U.S. attorney for detainees, said:

“Most Americans recognize that denying those in Guantánamo the same right to a fair trial provided those lucky enough to be in the United States flies in the face of justice.

“Guantánamo is an emblem of a dark period for our country. The Obama Administration must urgently take steps to shutter the prison, and charge or release its long-suffering inmates, while there’s still time.”

61 prisoners remain held at Guantánamo after the Administration released 15 cleared men – 12 Yemenis and 3 Afghans – to the United Arab Emirates on Monday.

Islamic Emirate: UNAMA and Civilian Casualties (Afghanistan)

unama

Post via Islamic Emirate

The UN representatives in Kabul, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), last month issued a report which states that in the first six months of this year 5166 civilians have suffered casualties. Of these 1601 casualties have been fatal while the remaining 3565 have been injuries. UNAMA also added that this year civilian casualties have increased four-fold compared to the same period last year.

The Head of UNAMA, Tadamichi Yamamoto, has said that the involved parties to the conflict have not fulfilled their undertakings for the prevention of civilian lives. Similarly the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights – Zeid Ra’ad Hassan – called the civilian casualties of the Afghan conflict over the past six months as alarming and shameful.

Surprisingly this is the first time that UNAMA has not directly accused the Taliban for around 90% of the civilian casualties. Although it is worth noting they have never accused the American occupiers or their internal allies of directly contributing towards the majority of civilian losses.

This report comes at a time when the American’s have being given new mandates significantly increasing their ability to take direct part in the ongoing conflict. The American troops have made full use of their new-found authorities and have made use of all kinds of heavy weaponry in battles with the Taliban.

The members of Kabul Parliament have called on foreign troops to abstain from using cruise missiles and other weapons of mass destruction since such weaponry causes widespread geological and human destruction. Members of Parliament – Humayoon Humayoon and Qadir Zazi – say that the circumstances of Afghanistan do not dictate the use of large-scale destructive weaponry and the use of cruise missiles or heavy aerial bombardment causes large scale environmental destruction and plays a significant role in large-scale civilian casualties.

They add that since the exile of the Taliban’s government, this is the first time that foreign forces  – in addition to heavy aerial bombardment – have resorted back to the use of cruise missiles. According to them in Nangarhar alone they have used 25 cruise missiles.

On the other hand, the officials of Kabul regime repetitively call for more foreign bombardment and attacks against the Taliban. Some time ago the regime’s governor for Helmand – Hayatullah Hayat – stated that the current American-led bombardment is insufficient and called on the Americans to increase their aerial campaign against the Taliban. Yet the American forces, their internal allies and UNAMA consistently label all those killed in aerial bombardment as ‘militants’.

The regime’s governor for Helmand – Hayatullah Hayat – has made his appeal for further foreign bombardment at a time when the Taliban is launching coordinated attacks across the province and utilizing mainly light and medium weaponry. UNAMA also generally attributes civilian casualties to Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) while in reality these devices are controlled and triggered by remote devices and Taliban take great pains to target only legitimate military targets with these devices.

It is simple logic that civilian casualties are mainly caused by large-scale and indiscriminate weaponry which is mostly utilized by the foreign forces and their internal allies. Therefore UNAMA should not simply take the regime’s word that those killed are ‘militant’s. Rather they should rigorously investigate the environmental and human destruction of aerial bombardment and base their reports on these investigations. Otherwise we will never hear the true cost of the ongoing war in Afghanistan.

Islamic Emirate: Condolence and reaction of Islamic Emirate regarding martyrdom of noble scholars in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

shikh-ghulamhazrat-480x330

Post via Islamic Emirate

That several renowned Afghan scholars – Sheikhul Hadith Mawlawi Ghulam Hazrat Sahib, Mawlawi Muhammad Nasim Hanafi Sahib and Qari Saeed Murad Sahib – have been martyred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province over the past several days, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan strongly condemns these savage cowardly assassinations and calls on Pakistani officials to pay serious attention to the security of noble Afghan refugee scholars and bring their killers to justice.

As the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan considers the martyrdom of all three scholars a great loss, it also believes that there are sinister hands behind these assassinations who seek to stoke religious hatred and enmity in our country with such ghastly actions. However they must understand that the esteemed noble scholars of all schools of thought are aware of such plots and will never allow the enemies of Islam to create rifts and enmity between the religious class.

May Allah Almighty accept the martyrdom of all three noble scholars and may He grant their families, friends and associates patience and immense rewards.

Islamic Emirate: The United Barbarity of Colluding Partners

khushamand-civilians-killed

Post via Islamic Emirate

The Unity regime of Kabul continues to target the innocent people of Afghanistan and seek vendetta against them for the ongoing problems plaguing their rotten regime. Each day they bomb the homes of civilians, carry out night raids against them, loot their property, kill their women and children, imprison them and indiscriminately target them.

The foreign occupiers and their regime allies continually target, bomb and raid the homes of Afghans. In such encounters the brunt of the damage is bore by ordinary Afghans. In the last few days alone we have witnessed dozens of Afghan civilians become victims to the foreigners’ night raids and indiscriminate bombardments or fall to the mass and aimless bombardment of the regime’s artillery.

Last week alone in Paktika’s Khoshamand district – in the village of Minarah – 13 civilians of the same family were butchered as a result of American bombardment. The American planes targeted the house of Dr. Wrekhman and – including him – killed 13 members of his family.

Locals told the Afghan Islamic Agency that all those killed in this bombardment were civilians. According to them those killed included women and children. The regime’s local officials in Paktika also confirmed that all killed in this incident were non-combatants.

This is not the only tragedy that befell our ordinary civilians during this month. On the first of August regime forces killed Muhammad Shafiq in Maidan Wardak provincial capital. Shafiq was a teacher and had recently moved to the center from Chak district.

On the second of August the regime’s forces indiscriminately fired heavy rounds on villages in Kapisa’s Tagab district killing 2 women and injuring many more. Similarly on the fourth of August regime forces fired mortar rounds on villages in Nawa area of Zabul’s Mizana district. This reckless firing caused the death of one child and injuries to two more.

On the 7th of August security forces in Badghis province’s Marghab district fired on villages located at 3 kilometers from their base. This unprovoked firing targeted civilian homes in Daikhoji village and took the lives of three civilians as well as causing grave bodily harm to six more.

In addition, on the 8th of August troops from Ghormi military base, located Khost’s Speri district carried out raids on two villages (namely Bozi and Tanikhel) and after coming under fire, they deliberately fired towards ordinary villagers killing three and critically injuring six. The villagers were accused of failing to prevent the Taliban from using their village to attack security forces and some were taken prisoners as a deterrent.

On August the 13th the regime forces again indiscriminately fired on the Dahman-e-koh village – located in Logar’s Muhammad Agha district. These mortar rounds struck the home of Sayed Jan – a local farmer – killing his child and wife.

This practice of indiscriminately targeting civilian homes has become a common pattern in the regime’s military tactics over the past year and a half. The regime appears to target villages and villagers on purpose especially if they are under the control of the Taliban. The regime ostensibly calculated that by targeting and killing civilians they would compel these villagers to either stand up against the Taliban thus joining the regime or else suffer for their passive and neutral stance regarding the ongoing conflict. The villagers who unfortunately have suffered the most over the past 40 years are increasingly getting tired of the injustices perpetrated by the regime forces and compelled to join the fight against Kabul security forces.

The Islamic Emirate strongly condemns such cowardly attacks against unarmed civilians and vows to avenge the suffering of these civilians. We call on the regime’s forces to confront us in battle rather than resorting to indiscriminate firing on civilian targets or the deliberate killing of villagers. This cowardly tactic will never deter the freedom fighters of our nation but would rather strengthen our resolve to cleanse our country from this treacherous and undisciplined mob that has personally being trained and funded by the enemies of Afghanistan.
