HELMAND, Jan. 10 – Reports from Helmand capital Lashkargah say that a tactical attack was carried out against enemy troops today at around midday as a key meeting attended by NDS officers, military commanders and Arbaki militia strongmen was taking place in PD2 of the city.
The attack began when a Mujahid initially shot the guards at the gate of the compound with an AK rifle before taking explosives to the meeting site and detonating it on the enemy.
The powerful explosion destroyed most parts of the building while initial information suggests 16 NDS officers, military and militia commanders were killed as well as dozens of other gunmen wounded.
The attacker successfully managed to leave the site and safely join up with nearby Mujahideen units.
