Rally and Candle light vigil organized by Defence of Human Rights (DHR), taken out in the commercial hub of Rawalpindi sadder was attended largely by the Bank road traders, civil society and members and families of DHR.
The protesters condemned the arrest of Khurram Parvez leading human rights defender of Jammu and Kashmir, and demanded his immediate release from the Indian governmènt.
The rally concluded at GPO chowk with a resolution to continue the struggle till the release of all Kashmiri citizens especially Khurram Parvez. Amina Masood Janjua chairperson DHR, demanded that both Indian and Pakistani governments should play their role in the immediate and unconditional release of Khurram Parvez.
The members of DHR were wearing T-shirts with a picture of Khurram saying “I am Khurram Parvez”, a message that the mission and vision of Khurram continues in letter and spirit even though he is in an unjust detention.
