Free Khurram Demonstration, Defence of Human Right group Pakistan

Jammu Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society (JKCCS) legal team have recently met with Khurram Parvez at the Kot Bhalwal Jail, Jammu. Khurram is a well known Kashmiri human rights activist who was detained on the 16th September 2016 following his attempt to travel to Geneva, Switzerland where he had been invited to participate in a session of the UN Human Rights Council. He was later accused of accused of inciting stone pelting and protests.

Kashmir has been in a state of unrest following the killing of Burhan Wani, commander of Hizbul Mujahideen on July 8th 2016. A struggle for independence from India and azadi (freedom) began following partition in 1947.
