URUZGAN, Mar. 16 – Reports arriving from Dehrawod district say that the large enemy force which arrived at Miyando area for an operation about two weeks earlier fled after sustaining heavy losses.
Officials say that the enemy troops being led by ANA commander Samiullah Saleem, police and Arbaki commander Rahimullah Khan as well as hireling commanders Shamad and Jan Agha were engaged by Mujahideen throughout the stated period as a result up to 50 hireling gunmen were reportedly killed and wounded, 6 APCs completely destroyed as well as the entire area falling under the control of Mujahideen.
In other news from Chinartu district, 4 infiltrators working inside a check post in Shaflugh area opened fire and killed 2 hirelings last night before joining up with local Mujahideen units and bringing in 4 rifles, grenade launcher, RPG launcher with 5 rounds, pistol, IED detector, comm. radio and a sizable amount of other equipment.
