KANDAHAR, Jan. 25 – Amid the ongoing annual ‘Azm’ operations, a 4-man unit (Dharar and Hudhaifa from Kandahar, Mubariz from Paktia and Saad from Helmand) from the martyrdom battalion of the Islamic Emirate armed with grenades, heavy and light weapons launched a complex attack on Sardari base located in Boldak district center at around 12:45 pm local time today.
The attack began when the unit killed 2 guards using silenced pistols before rushing towards the rooms where the hirelings had gathered for lunch, hurling grenades inside and opening automatic fire on the gunmen.
About 15 minutes later Mujahideen set off the explosive rigged car parked outside – after they used to get to the base – and similarly another martyrdom seeker (Safwan from Kandahar) began targeting the hirelings and their commanders from behind as they were busy engaging the unit inside.
The operation lasted for a protracted period of time in which over 30 gunmen were killed and dozens of others wounded along with the base damaged to a great extent, according to initial reports.
All the participants of the operation also attained martyrdom (may Allah accept them).
