Post via Islamic Emirate
Many media outlets have reported that Russia has established channels of contact with the Islamic Emirate concerning the threat of the so-called Daesh group present in Afghanistan but the reality is that Russia has not contacted the Islamic Emirate regarding this issue whatsoever.
If the Islamic Emirate can successfully combat the military might of 49 nations supported by the economic and logistic support of many more then the idea of the Islamic Emirate ever needing foreign support to beat a few gunmen associating themselves to Daesh is not plausible.
Talking with enemy is natural and legal
Humans create civil societies and the word ‘Insan’ (Human) is taken from the root word ‘Anas’ meaning love, affection, closeness and commune. Humans individually and communally have a natural need to interact and have relations with other human beings.
History has never recorded any human individual or community that has failed to interact, talk or have relations with other human beings. Every person interacts and has relations with his neighbor and every other individual with whom he shares common interests.
Islamically the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also had communication channels and relations with infidels, both the pagans and the people of the book. Based upon these relations he made a treaty with the Jews of Madina and later on sat with and held talks with various tribal chieftains of Arabia and went so far as holding indirect dialogue with great Empires through delegates so that the Emirate in Madina can pursue its interests safely, stand on its own feet and be shielded from extra unwanted harm.
Establishing contacts and sending delegations to near and far governments or political actors to deliver ones message and listen to their viewpoint was a huge part of Prophetic politics. This is the clear Prophetic methodology which unfortunately has been opposed by various groups that have sprouted at various stages throughout history who hold an absolute stance of hostility towards other nations due to the limited understanding and whose deviant judgments have come to label such political contacts apostasy.
Difference between ties and dependence
From the viewpoint of international politics establishing ties with other actors or governments is not an act to be frowned upon rather arch enemies are known to have kept their channels of communication open to one another in the most heated of circumstances. Political relations are in reality is a stratagem utilized by parties in order to pursue interests which is in no way correlated to the subject of coercion or necessity nor does it mean one side controls the other.
However what is frowned upon in international politics is when an actor is dependent on another. Dependence means a relation between two actors where one has control over the other for example the communists of Afghanistan did not have ties but were dependent on the Soviets because these communists were used as remote-controlled toys employed to work for the political, intellectual, economic and cultural goals of the Soviets.
Many people accuse the Taliban of being dependent upon Pakistan but this accusation could not be farther from the truth. This would mean that the Taliban are being controlled by Pakistan and work for Pakistani interests in spite of the fact that there has never been a shred of evidence that could back up this claim. If Pakistan did have control over Taliban then surely they would have had them adopt the Pakistani model of governance during their rule instead of implementation of Shariah unlike the Kabul administration which has copied the American model to the last detail.
In reality the Taliban as a political movement is bound and required to have relations with countries of the world especially the neighboring nations, to hold meetings with them through delegations, to deliver their message and listen to the concerns of the other side.
Crystal Clear Policy
In light of the Prophetic political methodology the Islamic Emirate seeks to protect and give preference to its higher interests, does not want unwarranted enmity with others and wishes to employ political efforts alongside its military endeavor to attain its objectives.
The Islamic Emirate has routinely clarified its policy to the neighboring, regional and world countries: Just as we will not tolerate interference in our beloved homeland by foreign powers, we similarly do not have any intention of harming others.
Based upon its legitimate demands and clear policy, the Islamic Emirate does not believe in diplomatic restrictions rather it seeks to have relations based upon mutual respect with all nations of the region and world including the neighbors.
When we do establish relations with any party it will not be detrimental to our religious principles, Islamic rituals and national interests; since our struggle began and is continuing for the purposes of raising the word of Allah Almighty and attaining His pleasure therefore the Islamic Emirate shall never bargain on its pure objectives and interests.
The Islamic Emirate has successfully passed through many critical stages through the past decades and with the help of the Great Lord Almighty shall continue to remain loyal to its lofty religious and national interests in the future, Allah willing.
