Islamic Emirate: What was US Secretary of Defense looking for in Nangarhar?

Over the past 15 years all high ranking officials of the United States and NATO who have visited Afghanistan have done so unexpectedly due to the absolute fear cast into their hearts by the Mujahidin. They have always entered Afghanistan during the dark of the night and have left rather quickly in a state of complete cowardice.

Ashton Carter, the United States Defense Secretary also made an unexpected trip to Afghanistan last Friday and conducted quick meetings with his troops and Kabul officials at Bagram and Nangarhar before leaving in a haste.

The secretary of defense visited Nangarhar and spent several hours there, raising the eyebrows of the masses and many analysts because the main US headquarters and command and control center of the US is Bagram airbase while no significant incident has taken place in Nangarhar either which could warrant a visit  by such a high ranking official.

A day before the arrival of Ashton Carter, the commander of American forces in Afghanistan General Campbell spoke about the presence of ‘Daesh’ in Nangarhar and stated that this group is seeking to grow in this province and turn it into its stronghold.

The visit by secretary of defense Ashton Carter immediately following the remarks of General Campbell gave a physical form to doubts that America wants to keep the group ‘Daesh’ alive while encouraging its growth with the aim of advancing its regional goals and creating further anarchy for the Afghans.

A few days prior to the visit of the defense secretary, a powerful FM radio under the title ‘Khilafa’ also began broadcasting in most parts of Nangarhar province. It is said that this radio station and its machinery is operated from inside Jalalabad airbase or from a secure intelligence building because the daily propaganda disseminated from start to finish solely abuses Jihadi tenets and Afghan valor, clearly indicating that this radio station is funded and protected by specially designated intelligence units of Kabul and US administrations.

Reports also say that the Nangarhar provincial National Directorate Services are working alongside Afghan ‘Daesh’ elements who outwardly oppose and have shown a distaste for their ‘Khurasan’ branch leader Hafiz Sayed Khan.

A famous British tabloid ‘The Daily Mirror’ recently published a report stating that a group of hackers (VandaSec) who did research on all openly pro Daesh websites floating around the web claim that many Daesh supporter social media accounts which seem to be based in Saudi Arabia are in fact being run from internet addresses linked to the ‘Department of Work and Pension’ in London.

Looking at the above witnesses and reasoning one can safely assume that the visit by the US defense secretary to Nangarhar was definitely not for creating plans to counter the threat posed by Daesh rather America seeks to implant Daesh roots deeper into Nangarhar and create further headaches for the Afghans nation after the failure of the Arbaki militia and ‘Local Uprising’ programs.
