Open letter by Spokesman of Islamic Emirate to the American President Donald Trump

Post via Islamic Emirate

To Donald Trump, President of the United States of America!

Availing this opportunity of understanding arisen due to the presidential change of your country, I wish to share with you a few realities about the ongoing war in Afghanistan.

The war launched on Afghanistan by your troops has completed its fifteenth year, is the longest war in your history (still prolonging) and has caused human and material losses to both sides.

You, being chosen as the elected President of the United States and having to carry the burden of responsibility for all aspects of this war, must ask what is the end goal of this war? Everyone understands that wars are not waged for the sake of war but as a means to an end.

If your goal is the permanent occupation of Afghanistan, oppressing this nation, forcing a rule upon them then using the land, air space and other resources of this country for your own interests; then you must learn from past experiments and understand that such dreams can never materialize because to do so you must first guarantee stability for your soldiers and the servile regime before using the air and land for your vested interests. However historical experiences, the nature of this land and its people and most importantly, the past 15 years have proven that it is impossible to provide safety for foreign forces or quell the armed religious and national resistance against it.

Come let us unwaveringly accept that our nation has waged a historically successful struggle against a foreign invasion over the past 15 years. Our people did not have the material, military, logistical or even the official moral support of any nation.

Tens of countries allied in this occupation used military, political, propaganda and every other means available to breakdown our lawful resistance but as our Jihad and struggle was legitimate religiously, intellectually, nationally and conforming to all other lawful standards and because our nation believes in it to the extent of sacrosanctity, therefore the invaders failed to pacify this resistance despite having a lopsided military advantage. In the end, many officials of the countries allying with the occupation recognized that they are not fighting some rebellious group, rather they are at war with an entire nation. Hence they embraced this reality, opened channels of dialogue and understanding with the Islamic Emirate and slowly began pulling their troops out of this illegal, ineffective and aimless war.

Elected President of the United States!

The Afghans, as a nation ravaged by war for thirty eight long years, sincerely want to bring this war to an end however they know – despite whatever reasons for previous wars – that the principle cause for the ongoing conflict is the presence of foreign occupying forces in our independent country. To bring an end to this war feeding on the blood of your and our people, you must further understand the geography and nature of this war through the following clarifications.

First: As a nation of the Asian continent, Afghanistan boasts of regionally having the longest history of independence and freedom. That this nation has been invaded the most and has somehow emerged sound from these disasters while the dangers of occupation and disintegration have not harmed it, one of the reasons is because the independence of this nation, its territorial integrity and defense of national interests is dependent upon its people and not on individuals, groups and governments. This nation holds its sovereignty dear above any estimations and considers itself the true and undisputed owner of this geography.

Second: The Afghan nation considers the independence of their country as their lawful right and firmly believes it can safeguard and manage its own homeland. History does not recall a time when the security and interests of others were threatened from the land and airspace of this country. Our country remained neutral in both the First and Second World Wars and did not aid or ally with any side. Our country also remained a member of non-aligned nations during the Cold War.

This fear of people viewing our country being used as a potential strategic theater by rivals or being involved in a great game is unfounded. We want to take a breath of serenity in our country after long wars and heal the wounds of our nation. Our nation will not accept the military presence of western colonialists just as it refused the military presence of eastern colonialists.

Third: Just as our people do not hold the intention of harming others, they reciprocally will not accept harm by others. You understand that our country is the poorest from amongst the so-called third world countries. The only asset that our persecuted nation holds is a free and independent country retained through the ages with a lot of blood and sacrifice. Our nation is ready for every sacrifice in defense of this asset and values its preservation above every estimation. We fought against the English for more than half a century from the end of the 19th century and beginning of 20th century for this exact aim (acquiring independence). In defense of our country, we offered over 1.5 million martyrs against the Soviet invasion.

Looking at the above, it would be naive for someone to think that they can force our nation to accept their invasion and rule or that they can exhaust our nation by prolonging this war. Our nation considers fighting for its rights as a great honor and the pinnacle of heroism and they do not see dying in this path as death, but as eternal life.

Fourth: Your previous administrations have tried to portray the armed resistance against occupation in Afghanistan as mere rebellion, being led by a few supposed ‘terrorists’ who do not have the backing of the people. However after witnessing fifteen years of realities and the ever expanding resistance, there should be no doubts left that this war is the unified uprising of all ethnicities across Afghanistan and not the work of a small group or a few individuals. The leadership of this uprising, as a governing system, is in the hands of the Islamic Emirate. The Islamic Emirate is not some unsupported terror spreading fighting group, rather it is an orderly and well-grounded movement of the people which carries with itself a rational and understandable agenda for its warfare, politics and lawful cause.

The Islamic Emirate has justification and rationale for its every action and reaction. That is why it is gaining international political legitimacy every day and on top of regional countries, maintains relations with various countries around the world including with the United Nations and various other bodies. The Islamic Emirate – as a governing body – is the only movement among the current political sides of Afghanistan to have popular and countrywide support of the people. It has deep roots in all the ethnic communities of Afghanistan, currently rules over fifty percent of Afghanistan, influences a further thirty percent and can threaten the enemy rule established by your troops and Kabul regime in the remaining twenty percent at any given moment.

It is due to this reason that many countries regionally and globally have arrived at a conclusion that it is this nationally supported political-military power (Islamic Emirate) which they should interact and come to an understanding with as a responsible future entity of this country because the other groups and individuals have risen only through foreign support and do not have any foundations among the people.

Fifth: The people serving in the current regime under your support calling themselves the government of Afghanistan, can never represent this nation and neither do the people have any trust in them. These people, who earn the dishonor of most corrupt regime in the world annually, are not loyal to anything except their own material interests.

An illustration of their disloyalty towards their country and people is the saga of Kabul Bank where the savings of the poor workers, teachers, laborers and working class were siphoned off by the high-ranking officials of this very regime that built their accounts and businesses with it overseas.

On top of embezzling international aid, these corrupt officials have also looted the wealth of their own people, having usurped thousands of hectares of land, and are embroiled in theft, banditry, administrative corruption, immorality and organized crimes. Therefore they are not trusted by the people and neither can you impose them upon the nation any longer through threat of force and violence.

Sixth: There is a consensus in the country, regionally and even internationally that the war in Afghanistan is not in the interest of anyone. We, as a party of the conflict on whom this war has been imposed and whose country has come under direct military invasion, consider it our responsibility to deliver our persecuted and oppressed nation from the flames of war. It is on these basis that we send you our message to control this war of occupation launched by your military. Do not exert any further efforts into turning Afghans and the children of America into sacrificial animals for an unwinnable war.

In recent times all international research and analysis institutes agree that the American military mission in Afghanistan has reached a slowly deteriorating stalemate. If the American forces insist on continuing the occupation of our country and preventing us from living an honorable and free life then obviously, war is our necessity and at the same time our lawful right. But perhaps this futile war is not your necessity. In such a state it is the responsibility of American officials, as the initiators of war, to bring an end to this tragedy. We call it a tragedy because it is due to your soldiers and your sponsored militias that our sinless children, women and innocent youth are killed daily throughout the country and they continue to lose their homes, businesses, hospitals and farms. It is due to the barbaric airstrikes of your army that whole villages are turned into graveyards like in the case of Kunduz and the Afghan people endure their lives in a climate of fear and terror due to your night raids and bombings.

Just as this war has proven fruitless for you both militarily and politically, it has also morphed into a mark of shame for you morally and ethically where it is either your own soldiers or armed gangs under your patronage that are regularly implicated in war crimes.

President of America!

Perhaps some contents of this letter will prove bitter for your taste. But since they are realities and tangible facts, they must be accepted and treated as bitter medicine that is taken by patients out of fear of seeing their condition deteriorate.

Islamic Emirate: A Few Frank Points to Ponder for the New American President

siing

Post via Islamic Emirate

You are the third president of the United States entangled in the quagmire of the war in Afghanistan. As per your own statistics, more than one trillion dollars have been spent on the war so far but nothing has been achieved except the staining of innocent Afghans in their blood and destruction of villages and gardens. Apart from that, you have lost your previous credibility in the world. So, the responsibility to bring to an end this war also rests on your shoulders.

Apparently, this war was started under a pretext in which neither any Afghan was involved nor has it independently been investigated to find out the actor behind the event. It is worth mentioning that those who give you council about the clash of civilizations are in fact the enemies of civilization and humanity. Moreover, your generals would give you unrealistic reports about Afghanistan as they have given such reports to former presidents. They would emphasize on continuation of war and occupation of Afghanistan because they can have better positions and privileges in war. Meanwhile, your analysts may have prepared their analysis regarding Afghanistan twenty thousand kilometers away from the country and would submit them to you. They would try to emphasize on the repetition of the hackneyed slogans of terrorism to be fruitful but in fact, most of their analysis do not reflect the ground realities of Afghanistan. Rather, they would sink you further into this quagmire.

You have to realize that the Afghan Muslim nation has risen against foreign occupation. They are defending their faith, country, human dignity, and freedom. You certainly like to have an independent country for yourself and do not even accept foreign troops in any neighboring country of America so, why do you not accept this legitimate right of the Afghan Muslim nation? You (America) have grabbed independence of our country and imposed a surrogate Administration on the Muslim people of Afghanistan. As such, you are flaring up flames of fighting. There is no terrorism in Afghanistan. This is just a slogan and a mere allegation.

We had sent an open letter to the American Congress in 2010, which was publicized in media at that time and we had said that:

“From the time you have invaded Afghanistan and the armed Jihad was started against occupation, you have detained tens of thousands of people under the name of armed opposition. We ask your top brass to please show only hundred foreigners among those detained and then we would accept that non-Afghans are really fighting against you in Afghanistan.”

If you have not been able to prove this claim of yours during the past one and a half decade then you have to realize that the current fighting in Afghanistan is but an Islamic Afghan popular resistance against your occupation. You are not actually fighting against a group but you are confronting a nation.

This issue could not be solved by the influx of troops nor was it solved through such tactic in the past. The bitter experiences of the former Administrations of America during the past years have clearly proven this. Therefore, instead of following the past policies, it would be better for you to come with a rationale solution. End the occupation. Alternatively, assist countries in reconstruction and development instead of bloodshed and destruction. This will restore peace in our country and region and will allow you to restore your credibility in the world.

End

US court rules that cleared Guantánamo prisoners have no right to be released (Reprieve)

An American court has today ruled that men cleared for release in Guantánamo Bay have no legal right to leave the prison – despite winning in the only viable release mechanism they have.

In declining to enable the emergency release of cleared prisoner Abdul Latif Nasser, the DC federal court insisted that Abdul Latif had no right to be released because a win at the Periodic Review Board is merely ‘advisory’. This leaves prisoners at Guantánamo stranded: with no charge, no trial and no viable, enforceable path to release.

Abdul Latif, a 51 year-old Moroccan, was unanimously cleared by the Periodic Review Board for transfer home to Morocco on July 11. He remains imprisoned simply because the government’s transfer process has been too slow. There is no evidence that the Obama Administration did anything to hurry the process along.

With no release in sight and fearing the worst, Abdul Latif filed emergency litigation last Friday. As part of this litigation, the US government admitted that bureaucratic slowness was the only reason he had not been returned home.

Abdul Latif now faces indefinite detention at the mercy of the Trump Administration.

Reprieve attorney Shelby Sullivan-Bennis said: “It is distressing that we cannot rely on our courts to enforce basic justice and common sense. Everyone wants Abdul Latif to go home—the US government, the Moroccan government, and his family. The government admits that his detention is “no longer necessary,” but will keep him simply because the change in administration has halted their plans—a devastating conclusion for Abdul Latif.”

Islamic Emirate: US Presidential Change and Afghanistan’s message

trump-in-house-620x330

Post via Islamic Emirate

The presidential inauguration ceremony took place recently in Washington, transferring power from the black skinned Obama to a white skinned billionaire, Donald Trump. Trump is an enigma both to the Americans and the billions of people around the world. No predictions can tell his course of action and the ramifications they entail.

Afghanistan – which continues to burn in the fire of occupation lit by the arrogance of previous American leaders – hopes that Trump and his cabinet will not follow the crooked unintelligent footsteps of his predecessors in order to both stave off America from destruction and relieve Afghanistan from the evil of invaders.

But if he insists on following the path tread by Bush and Obama and continues the illegal occupation of our country without reviewing the results so far, then it is not far that Trump shall sink even deeper into the quagmire that is Afghanistan without any means to pull himself out from its depths.

If anything could have been achieved with killings, beatings, bombings, tortures and prisons then surely no method was left unused over the past nearly 16 years. Not only America but the fifty other coalition nations used every tool of force but could not achieve anything except lose tens of thousands of soldiers in battles and billions of dollars in a sinkhole, increased hatred of America globally and in Afghanistan, ruin its own image by propping a corrupt immoral regime, establish historical record in narcotics output, morph from a guardian to a violator of human rights and like the late Amirul Mumineen Mullah Muhammad Omar predicted, drop America from the top of the list (prestigious countries) to its bottom.

Even though America has never waged a war so long and passionately intense in its entire history but if she insists on continuing her failed arrogant policies, one can foresee that she will ruin herself beyond repair due to a historically shameful defeat. And nothing is hard for Allah, the Almighty.

Cleared Guantánamo prisoner files last-ditch lawsuit seeking immediate release (Reprieve)

abdul-latif-nasser

19th January 2017

A cleared Moroccan who should have been released months ago has begged a federal judge to cut through the red tape keeping him stranded in Guantánamo Bay.

Abdul Latif Nasser, 51, was unanimously cleared by the Periodic Review Board for transfer home to Morocco on July 11, but remains imprisoned because the government’s transfer process has been too slow. He now faces indefinite detention at the mercy of the Trump Administration.

According to court documents filed this week, the Moroccan government’s final agreement to repatriate Abdul Latif arrived on December 28, 2016, which was too late for President Obama to give the 30-days notice required by the US Congress. There is no evidence that the Obama Administration did anything to hurry the agreement along.

Last Friday, Abdul Latif filed an emergency request asking US federal court to either order his habeas writ granted, or an exception to the 30-day Congressional notice requirement met. Either would allow Abdul Latif to return home before President-elect Trump takes office.

Sold for a bounty to the US military in 2002, Abdul Latif is famous across the Guantánamo military base for drafting his own 2,000-word English-to-Arabic dictionary by hand. His Reprieve attorney Shelby Sullivan-Bennis describes him as “introspective, intelligent, and kind-hearted”. Abdul Latif plans to live in his family home in Casablanca, where his brother has offered him employment at his successful water treatment company.

Morocco has already accepted 13 former Guantanamo detainees, and Abdul Latif would be supported by Reprieve’s Life After Guantanamo program, which assists ex-prisoners after release to ensure their successful reintegration.

Reprieve attorney Shelby Sullivan-Bennis said: “Leaving Abdul Latif to languish at Guantanamo under Trump is as pointless as it is cruel. He has been cleared for release for over six months, and everyone involved in his case – including both governments – wants him to go home. We are begging the court to allow common sense and natural justice to prevail.”

Islamic Emirate: 200 invaders deployed to Farah withdraw after Mujahideen attacks

farah-province-1416219078-620x330

Post via Islamic Emirate

A few days earlier the Kabul administration officials announced that up to 200 foreign invaders had arrived at Farah and will help them in securing the province. The enemy greatly publicized this announcement and used it to raise the spirits of their morale-lacking troops.

The Mujahideen of Islamic Emirate also countered the enemy courageously and repeatedly targeted the provincial airbase with missiles and other attacks from the day the invaders setup camp. Upon sustaining heavy losses, the 200 newly deployed foreign troops left Farah towards Kabul yesterday without paying any heed to the calls of their stooges.

Farah provincial capital has been under the heavy attacks for the past 3 months with Mujahideen making progress with each passing day, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy and overrunning security posts.

Lately, the enemy was thrown into a state of panic and began imploring the foreign forces to send troops for their support or risk the fall of the province to the Mujahideen.

But the invading troops – after observing the magnitude of Mujahideen attacks, the siege of the city and the weak disoriented state of the stooge forces – also lost patience, withdrew with their heads hanging low after spending a few limited days and left their stooges at the mercy of the Mujahideen.

Pakistan: Taliban TTP offer “gift of an electronic course in Burmese for Mujahideen of Burma and Bangladesh”

16105553_1876132345950544_2356808897181436556_n

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP, Mardan) have posted of a “gift” of a new electronic course for mujahideen in Burma (also known as Myanmar) and Bangladesh. The statement comes via Abid Mansoor. The course “Jihad Electronic in Burmese” is 112 pages long, handwritten in different colour inks on lined paper with a series of drawings and diagrams. The posting on social media drew 40 “shares” on Facebook alone since it appeared on 16th January.

This news comes as more and more information emerges of alleged human rights abuses against Rohingya muslims in Burma (denied by the state). There is pressure on the United Nations to establish an official investigation into what may constitute crimes against humanity, see following link,

“Statement from Rohingya Communities Worldwide Request OIC to support UN Commission of Inquiry”

Statement from Rohingya Communities Worldwide Request OIC to support UN Commission of Inquiry

According to Al Jazeera (Nov 2016) there are also concerns that boats carrying Rohingya from Burma “have been turned away by Bangladesh as thousands amass on the border”. AJ states,

“Dhaka says thousands more are massed on the border, but has refused urgent international appeals to let them in, instead calling on Myanmar to do more to stop people fleeing.

In the past two weeks, Bangladeshi border guards have prevented more than 1,000 Rohingya, including many women and children, from entering the country by boat, officials told AFP.”

In sharp contrast Hefazat-e-Islam a coalition of several Islamist groups in Bangladesh have organized rallies in the capital city of Dhaka demanding the government do more to shelter those escaping persecution. According to the BBC,

“The organisations in the Hefazat coalition are based at more than 25,000 madrassas, or religious schools, across Bangladesh.

Teachers at these madrassas belong to these organisations and all students are brought out en masse to participate in street rallies and marches.”

Is the persecution of Rohingya fuelling new insurgent groups in the region?

Today the New York Times reported on an October assault where an insurgent group “announced its existence with a predawn attack on three Myanmar border guard posts. Hundreds of Rohingya militants, armed mainly with knives and slingshots, killed nine police officers and seized weapons and ammunition.” See following story,

Aung San Suu Kyi First, State Counsellor and Leader of the National League for Democracy in Burma who was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize has been heavily criticised for her inaction with regard to protecting Rohingya. An Independent report highlighted,

“An open letter to the UN Security Council, signed by 23 peace laureates, leaders and activists, warns the offensive has killed hundreds of Rohingya people and condemns Burmese State Counsellor Ms Suu Kyi for ‘not taking any initiative to ensure full and equal citizenship rights of the Rohingyas’”.

It now seems extreme persecution of Rohingya could increasingly fuel an extreme response. There are also fears that Myanmar’s government and military will come down heavily on Rohingya following any insurgent strikes whether people are actively involved or not and this could be used as an excuse for further aggression. As Patrick Winn stated in the Global Post, “the government has announced “full strength” operations to take out suspected insurgents. So far, more than 40 are dead, mostly men accused of militancy by the government.”

Groups such as TTP Mardan outside the country are clearly keen to engage with militants or “would-be” fighters in Burma and Bangladesh and have years of experience fighting the military within Pakistan and Afghanistan. News of an online course on offer from the group will surely set alarm bells ringing with state authorities whose oppression of Rohingya may have unleashed an oncoming wave of violent retaliation.

Islamic Emirate: Kandahar Incident, a handiwork of the enemy’s Covert Circles

cc-410x330

Post via Islamic Emirate

During the past one and a half decade, we were witnesses to hundreds of horrendous and ambiguous incidents which have been carried out by covert intelligence circles in Afghanistan but always blamed on the Islamic Emirate. Later it has however been proved that the Islamic Emirate was not involved but at the time of the incident, they intentionally pointed fingers at the Islamic Emirate. In fact these wicked circles and people believe that they can kill two birds with a single shot and isolate the Islamic Emirate inside the country and globally.

The incident of Kandahar on 10th of January is also one of such incidents. The Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate had no plan of operations on that day in Kandahar and immediately denied their involvement in the incident. But officials of the Kabul Administration, both in Kabul and Kandahar, started leveling allegations against the Islamic Emirate even prior to investigation of the incident. Among others, they simultaneously tried to draw attention of the people inside and outside the country to other issues to cover their recent military and political failures.

Linking every incident to the Islamic Emirate is an easy task but it is neither rational nor acceptable that the Islamic Emirate be responsible for each and every incident. All know that access to such a sensitive and secure place is impossible for the Islamic Emirate. Only people who are at the realm of power can gain access and easily carry out such a complicated attack at such an opportune time. Furthermore can there be any need for the Islamic Emirate to carry out such an attack which is contrary to its interests and can complicate its objectives or push it farther away? As a principle, it is not the policy of the Islamic Emirate to target individuals who assist the miserable people of Afghanistan. International organizations working in the country know that the Islamic Emirate cooperates with them on a daily basis to provide them facilities regarding their work across the country. Moreover the Islamic Emirate has already published statements to facilitate national and other projects of public benefits and their spokespersons have made clear this agenda in the media from time to time.

The Islamic Emirate had good relations with the United Arab Emirates from the very beginning and still wants good relations with them. We express our deep sorrow and sadness over the killing of UAE diplomats in this masked incident and would like to extend our condolences to our brother Islamic country of the United Arab Emirates for this great loss of life.

The objective of the Islamic Emirate is clear which is to target the invaders and their allied troops. Apart from this, we welcome the legitimate humanitarian assistance of the Islamic and non-Islamic countries with the people of Afghanistan.

We would like to assure the Islamic countries that we are ready to provide security and facilities for your welfare works, aimed at improving the life of the miserable Afghan people and at implementing and reconstructing national projects in the country. The concerned commissions of the Islamic Emirate are well prepared for facilitation and coordination as regards your (humanitarian) activities.
