Statement of Islamic Emirate regarding the completion of one year period by freed leaders from Guantanamo
Five leaders of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan who were freed one year ago in exchange for a US prisoner completed their one year term in Qatar on the 1st of ongoing month of June in accordance with the reached agreement. The Islamic Emirate thanks all parties who helped in the implementing of the agreement and from now onwards the said persons will live freely anywhere the Islamic Emirate deems necessary in accordance with the agreement.
Reports circulated by the media about extension of conditions are untrue while the Islamic Emirate considers all further action by America concerning the stipulations as a violation of the principles of the agreement and international law.
